Really? Huh. I like Tigh, even though he pisses me off. I want to watch more of his story, because there's so much of it. He keeps getting the fuzzy end of the existential lollipop and sometimes he rises above it and sometimes he just crumples at the first sign of ling, but you never know what he's gonna do, so...interesting. And back to the pissing me off. So I still want to know what he's been up to and I bet we're going to find out soon. It isn't that he pisses me off. He disturbs me and causes me real emotional pain when he's onscreen, especially when he's drinking himself into a coma. So I can't really judge him as a character because I can't see much beyond the self-destructive mess. Yeah, he's a self-destructive mess, but you don't expect him to be some sort of caricature, do you? You know they'll do something interesting. He's not an ensign about to be killed off on the away mission, you know? He's got too much "time served" to just disappear.

I already know that I'm not going to like what I suspect they're going to do with, for instance, Kara, but that doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to it from a storytelling point of view. Tigh's story makes me shrivel to watch sometimes but I still want to see what happens with him. Maybe that's because I ultimately think Tigh is going to pull through... ..huh...

Hrm. He makes some points I could give a nod to. But for the most part I disagree with him so fundamentally and on so many different points I don't have the time or energy right now to go into the details, nevermind get into a discussion about it. Which disappoints, because it would be interesting.

Interesting, indeed. I always find it interesting that so many people want to be . . . completely on one side or another. The Cylons have a good side and shouldn't all be killed. The Cylons are bad and should all be killed. But the show (much like life) is not all good or all bad. Should the humans fight to survive, and in doing so, kill Cylons if they need to? Yes. Are some Cylons turning out to be more multi-dimensional and possibly something worth saving? Yes. And it's why the genocide thing has problems. Because it's another "all or nothing" solution with no . . . wiggle room. Well, that and I'm not sure it would really work. Surely there would be some Cylons who would turn out to be immune and start the whole thing up again. It's always gonna be "you or me and so I chose me" when you supposedly have no other option other than one side or the other totally being gone. That's natural and, well, probably right. The Cylons certainly did their best to kill all humanity when they nuked everything (and probably tried before that in the earlier war). And I have no doubt that humanity tried a time or two to wipe out all the Cylons too. Interesting that neither side has managed to do it yet. (The Cylons came closest, from what we've seen so far.) What will be most interesting of all is if some alternative choices to either side wiping out the other are presented.
