I now take my leave. Four and a half hours of sleep, and I'll be fresh and cranky for work in the morning. But I'm still gonna be happy. Good night.

Did you say it was attributable to being felt and internalized and used by Spike as she needed to? Oh sorry! Obviously I'm waiting for a different scene.

Excuse me for extra density, but WHO THE HECK IS MISS KITTY FANTASTICO? Is that the kitten Willow and Tara had a few seasons ago? And what is her final fate? Gail

Robus. That's funny. I like that. Patti, if there's one thing that I've been consistent about on this board, it's my never-ending plea for Buffy to tell Xander how much he means to her. She did it, in a far better way than I would have imagined. I got precisely what I asked for. Now, if she had thrown him on to the kitchen floor and had her way with him, now that would've been... DAMMIT, Patti!! I was happy!! I was really happy!! You ruined it!! Nahhhh. Just kidding. Still happy. By the way, don't worry about hurt feelings. Everything will be fine. It's an emotional time for everyone. Rob Sorenson

Don't know about the feeling and using part, but it seems to me that it would be Buffy that would be internalizing Spike, unless there's something about slayers and vampires that's different from the rest of us we don't already know about. Care to field that one, Vlad?

That was indeed Tara's cat. It had been previously said that she'd run away, but apparently tonight it was revealed that Dawn shot her with a crossbow.

Glad you liked "Robus". It just had so much of a better flow to it than "Robertus". That sounded too much like an ancient Roman soul singer .... Robertus Flackus.

Dave revealed: 'Dawn shot her with a crossbow'
by accident. Just wanted to add that before horror rose unbidden.

EXCELLENT post, Rob! I'm just focussing on one point here. I wonder if Buffy's apparent coldness and emotional withdrawal after Xander's loss of the eye might have resulted less from Buffy's focussing on Defeating The First than on a natural emotional and human reaction to Xander's injury and the fact that on one level Buffy is responsible for it. Xander has been Buffy's close friend and left hand for six years. They, and Willow, have endured pain, horror, terror and various apocalaypses together. She trusts and cherishes them as she does few others. Until now, Buffy's human friends have sustained no permanent physical damage. I think that Xander's losing his eye at Caleb's hands horrified Buffy and gave her such overwhelming guilt that she probably couldn't stand to look at him, much less talk to him. After all, Xander followed Buffy into battle, supporting her as he always does, and a demon in human form destroyed his eye. Buffy has sorrowed for the deaths of the SIT's; but not in as personal a sense; she barely knows them. Xander's injury hit her hard and personally. Thankfully, Buffy is strong enough, especially with some emotional TLC by Spike, to get past that guilt and rebuild her relationship with Xander. Gail Freeman

I know Marti was supposed to write 21, she'd said so way back, but Herc's review of the ep on Ain't it Cool credited Dave P. and Jane E.

I said that? I have no memory of writing it, and never have used the verb 'internalize' before. Think it must be someone else's post, or I'm getting senile way ahead of schedule. Gail Did you say it was attributable to being felt and internalized and used by Spike as she needed to?>
