Until I get cable again, I watch nothing: spectacularly lousy reception, here just over the top, north side, of the highest hill in Cincinnati, with all the transmitters on the south side.
I will attempt Lost, since it's on network.
Other than that, I have no interest in any show available or announced for this season.
I'd very much like to see the Farscape mini-series, however. If I don't have cable back in time, I hope I can con someone into loaning me their tape(s) so I can watch it.
I have a DVD player, but it's not working. I can watch DVDs on my computer. But I currently can't afford DVDs, so that's rather moot.
Running in place here, trying to at least stay level. It will be a few more months before I can advance any.

Oh, hey, I forgot one: Monk, on USA, Fridays at 10 (or repeated earlier in the day on the weekend, for us as falls asleep between 10 and 11 on Fridays. Don't know how it will be when they come back without Sharona at midseason, but we'll see.

There is an original Sci-Fi movie on tonight: Darklight starting Sheri Appleby (from Roswell) and the guy from Sentinel (I think). 9 Eastern
I have not, for the most part, found original Sci-Fi movies to be anything to shout about, but Jim will be out of town so, what the hey.
Also, caught the season ender of Joan of A last night. Interesting how distressed she is to now think that is has all be hallucinations.
Tried all summer to get into Stargate and Stargate-Atlantis. Just can't bring myself to care. Neither the characters nor plots nor writing holds my attention.

I watched the Joan of Arcadia season ender, too. Did I miss something last year? Is her older brother walking now?

Is her older brother walking now? JoA: I don't think he's walking. He was in the wheelchair in the hospital. What I found interesting was her desire to believe. I love that they use such normal/nerdy looking kids. And that Amber Tamblyn really looks sick and looks like she's crying when she's sick and crying--like a real person. Remember how Ali McGraw looked while dying in Love Story? ha!

I had the same thought about Amber really looking sick and the rest of the cast looking like normal people. I'm anxious to see how they answer the question - is she crazy or really talking to God? I missed most of the episodes last year, but I think I'll add it to my "will watch if I'm able" list.

I'm a TV whore... just gettin' that out of the way first.
I will be watching:
Sundays - Charmed, Jack & Bobby, Boston Legal, (Jan '05) Alias, & (possibly) Desperate Housewives
Mondays - North Shore, Everwood, LAX, & (occasionally) CSI: Miami
Tuesdays - Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill
Wednesdays - HAWAII, Lost, The Mountain, CSI: NY, (occasionally) Smallville, & (possibly) Kevin Hill
Thursdays - The O.C., Survivor, ER, Joey, The Apprentice, (possibly) Life As We Know It, & (if it happens) Tru Calling
Fridays - (possibly) Dr. Vegas
Saturdays - The Amazing Race
Hmmm, there are things missing... I'm sure I'll add stuff as I find out about new shows that seem interesting and as other shows get cancelled. I also watch things like Nip/Tuck, Monk, and The Sopranos... and a host of other HBO/USA/TNT/FX shows.

Hey guys, I asked Patti to start this thread cause I'm looking to see what else might be good and I knew I'd miss answers that got swallowed up on the Main Thread. Also, I might be recommending one of the new shows (see below)--at least I'm going to give it a try. Please read all the way to the bottom because I've got a question about dates of mini-series and I know somebody out there has the answer(s). Sue Question: Other than "Lost" what are you all planning on watching this fall?My thoughts: Sunday: I often don't watch at all, but if I do might remember that Celebrity Poker is now on Sunday. I assume we'll have Alias watchers but I feel like it's too late to get into it now plus, its not starting until Jan, right? Except for the fact that we hate them it could be a WB evening: Jack and Bobby at 9, Buffy at 10, Angel at 11 (all times Eastern). Or maybe (hey, it's getting interesting reviews): (quoting from review) "DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES" (9 p.m., ABC, Oct. 3). A delightful pop soap opera satire skewering suburban lifestyles with a talented female ensemble that includes Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria ("L.A. Dragnet") and Marcia Cross ("Melrose Place"). With a twist of "Twin Peaks"-ian mystery, "Desperate Housewives" is narrated from beyond the grave by one of the women of Wisteria Lane. Monday: Football(?) I can't find anything worthwhile. LAX did not impress me. Tuesday: 8pm: Gilmore Girls ***Edit: Seems that Veronica Mars will be premiering on WED, then immediately moving the following week to TUES. Go here for zap2it preview ( with a Buffy mention): tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,773|90079|1|,00.html Wednesday Obviously, "Lost" at 8 pm 9 pm: Well, I'm a big West Wing fan but "Kevin Hill" is getting good reviews and there isTaye Diggs But, I'm gonna give this a try: (It was announced for Tuesday nights in the Buffy spot. But for now TV Guide is showing the premiere in Kevin Hill's time slot on Wed. There's a clue--must be a good show if they are going to start jerking around the time slot before it even airs! Okay, you're going to think I'm crazy, but I read an interesting review for new show: Veronica Mars -- on UPN at 8 pm (either Tuesday or Wed nights): Here's what a critic called Mike Duffy (Knight-Ridder) says about it: "Fresh, witty Veronica Mars is one of the fall season's most pleasant surprises. It features a captivating breakout starring performance by talented Kristin Bell (Deadwood) as fearless teen sleuth Veronica Mars. Mars juggles her hectic life as a sly high school outsider and an apprentice private-investigator who works with her father in a California beach community. Both a comic drama of social manners and a beguiling whodunit, Veronica Mars is a pop noir delight. (Aside from Sue: okay, change "p-i" to "vampire slayer" and "father" to "watcher" and what does this sound like?) 10 pm: Might give CSI:NY a try if Jim can give up L&O. ThursdayWell, I was looking forward to Tru Calling, but what, only 6 eps? What a joke! FridayI'll see how Joan of Arcadia is looking UPN is also doing a repeat of the Veronica Mars pilot on the 24th. hmmm Sat?Looks like a lot of TV, but I probably won't stick with all of it, just looking for one potentially decent show per night. Also: Could somebody post on this thread or the bulletin board--when the Sci-Fi mini-series are coming up: Farscape and Earthsea and anything else you think is worth watching.Looking forward to seeing what shows the rest of you are planning on watching. Sue Oh, also, Veronica Mars looks intersting since I loved Nancy Drew. I may give it a try but I've got a lot of things I know I like on Weds so we'll see if I remember.

Farscape is scheduled to air October 17 at 9:00 p.m and Earthsea is scheduled to air in December. No date on that one as far as I know. Thank you. P.S. Original movies made by Sci-Fi are just...............unbelieveably horrid. Darklight was indescribably bad. (Think Pinata Island except with less understandable plot and everything dark and murky.) I've alo tried watching "The Core" and "Dog Soldiers". I can only hope that the FarScape miniseries is being done by the original company and only aired on Sci-Fi. Who knows about Earthsea--at least we know the text from which it is being taken! No wonder they think Star-gate is so superior--it is--compared to their "original" stuff.

But not "original", in the sense that Frank Herbert wrote it. But in general, I agree with your assessment - Sci Fi Channel productions are pretty lame and boring.

I'm definitely going to watch Lost, but it'll have to be taped, as it airs the same time I'm at church on Wednesdays. You'd think the network people would have checked with me before they scheduled it Other than that, I'll mostly be watching football, Scrubs, Arrested Development, Jack and Bobby (if it continues to hold my interest) Father of the Pride and Joey. I sometimes try to catch American Dreams and ER. That's it

Veronica Mars sounds interesting. Might give it a try. Bummed to hear Sharona will not be back on 'Monk.' She's a great character. Will most likely try 'Lost.' 'Joey' is fun. Not much else really grabs me. TV has lost its allure for me. Under Suspicion, Sports Night, The X-Files, Farscape, BtVS, AtS...all shows I've loved and lost over the last few years. Guess I've had my heart broken too many times. Didn't even bother with 'Wonderfalls' last season 'cuz I knew it wouldn't last. I've been watching some stuff on TLC and Court TV, but too much True Crime gets depressing after awhile.

That's what I get for never checking TV listings. All I've been watching lately has been my AtS S4 DVD. With limited TV viewing time; an hour or so at the most every night, I've just been focused on getting through the DVD (not that it's a chore). I just assumed the Fall season hadn't started yet. I'd better check the web for my favorite shows' Fall Season details. I'll be watching: American Dreams NBC Sundays Antiques Road Show PBS Mondays Lost ? network Wed - (I'll give it a try) Joan of Arcadia CBS(?) Fridays Various history, science, current affairs and political documentaries when I notice they're on Deadwood (historical drama extraordinaire) on tape when my boss records it fo me off his HBO deborah

Okay...that's weird.
Just checked the Joan of Arcadia website. Check out the date they give for the Fall Season premier:
Don't miss the JOAN OF ARCADIA Series Premiere! Friday, September 26, 8PM ET/PT
(scratches her her head) According to my calendar, Sept 26 is a Sun (and premeir date for American Dreams [YAY!]). So Joan' must have premiered either Fri 9/17 or it will premier Fri 10/1.
