I like all the ideas. I have only recently started watching Alias. I love it, but I haven't analysied it or thought of analysing it. I would be interested in reading an anlysis (seaon, character, theme or episode) if anyone has the time or inclination. At this point I am thinking that Alias is just an interesting drama without any particularly profound philosophical issues. I would love to be proved wrong. I raise this issue, not to be tiresome (I know I am), but because if we want to minimise the number of false starts we would need to choose a series that has some depth (preferably philosphically close to the Jossverse). It would also be good to go into the next season wth a substantial amount of insight into the issues rather than just rushing in blind. I don't want to be negtive, but we have discussed AtS and BtVS and I imagine that we will continue to discuss AtS and BtVS sporadically as the mood and inspiration takes us, but I think a new additional focus is needed to keep the board fresh. This is just my two cents. Alias and AtS are both around ep 15 in Australia. I'm up for doing all that...and I think we can start a viewing and discussion of Buffy also - from Season one ep one - cause ScoopMe didn't even start til season 4, so we have 3 years of eps we have never formally reviewed and discussed in entirety.

copied from the main thread 6/17 [/img] Welcome to the Hellmouth! Now, once more for the first time, the Soulful Spike Society brings you the opportunity to enjoy Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Season One!
Beginning next week, Tuesday June 22nd at 7pm Central time, we invite you to dig out your dvds or video tapes and watch Welcome to the Hellmouth. Then proceed to the Buffy Board of Episodic Elaborations to discuss it, from first ooh to last aww...
Note: Discussion of the ep viewings will be on the Buffy board, not here.
There is a schedule of dates and reviewers on the first thread of that Buffy board, but there is still time to volunteer! If you've ever wanted to take a turn at such, now would be good.
Reviews will be posted on the appropriate episode thread, the day of the viewing or as close to that as possible. Later, Vlad will scoop them up and put them on the site, with a link back to the discussion thread. Happy Summer Viewing, S'cubies!

If you plan to join us in viewing these episodes weekly, be sure to check it out! Viewing for the pilot episode, Serenity, is now set for next Monday and the Monday after, June 21st and June 28th. Since that episode is a two-parter, it gets two Mondays instead of one From there on out, we'll have one episode each Monday in order as they appear on the DVDs. Even if you don't have the DVDs you are welcome to join in on the discussions!! You can go from memory (if you watched the episodes as they aired) or you can read the scripts at www.twiztv.com/scripts/firefly/index.html that will help you follow along. Sara will being doing the 'official' reviews for our viewings but informal reviews are always welcome on the threads corresponding with each episode. I can't wait to start watching this show as it was meant to be seen and discussing it (mostly for the first time EVER) with all of you.
