A year ago, our ever pleasant Techno-bot was super busy as usual, making sure the S'cubies' needs were being met.

I've made some Angel's Saviors avatars and put them in Avatar Alley. Currently there are 9, more coming. I've also modified the former Save Angel Campaign thread - now its called Angel's Saviors so it isn't confusing - and I'm going to post the avatar info there as well.
Also - normally our policy is not to use our avatars on other sites - the direct linking uses our limited bandwidth. But in this case I'm making an exception. If you want to use one of the Angel's Saviors avatars somewhere else on the internet, feel free. Not only might it remind someone to write a letter or send a postcard, but it has our web address on it...so...
Finally, a SHOUT-OUT (always wanted to do that ...well, since Andrew did it, I have..) to makd for giving me a link to some of these. I took a few, and took the idea as well.

Apropos of Nothing in Particular by Anne.
Old Part 121, #281, 2/23/2004
Goth names - how fun, Emily and Kitty will have to try it. I'm Disturbed Angel if I used my married name, Twisted Whispers if I use my "maiden" name. Both of the good.
Paul apparently (he says not, but...) left the cupboard door open to the cat treats last night. The cats went on safari - this morning, the kitchen floor was covered with fur rattle mice, all with their rabbit-fur tails eaten off. I know Patches ate the tails, but I suspect Shadow helped with the actual hunting. At least they couldn't open the tub of catnip. That might have gotten ugly - cats with hangovers, not a pretty sight.
Some networks should be tortured - Looking for something, anything, to watch last night, we discovered that AMC was showing She's Having a Baby. Even better, we were in the last half-hour; the best part, Kate's song, was coming up. So, we wait, the delivery-room scene begins, the opening chords of "This Woman's Work" start playing, Kevin Bacon tears up and so do I and - They go to a commercial! Aaaargh! Three-and-a-half minutes later, they go back to the movie, and pick up where they left off. At least AMC didn't cut the song; the scene is pivotal to the movie, and KB is just wonderful in it - beautifully understated emotion. Lovely. The song is one of Kate Bush's greatest, and kind of "ours". "Our" romantic song is "A Fine Romance" from SwingTime. We're silly people.
Actually, I was thinking that "This Woman's Work" (which is the man's POV watching the woman's struggle, take that, Felicity!) might make an interesting Buffy-and-the-men-who-love-her video - Giles, Xander, Angel, Spike, Riley:
"Pray God you can cope. I stand outside this woman's work, This woman's world. Ooh, it's hard on the man, Now his part is over. Now starts the craft of the father.
I know you have a little life in you yet. I know you have a lot of strength left...
...I should be crying, but I just can't let it show. I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking
Of all the things we should've said, That were never said. All the things we should've done, That we never did. All the things that you needed from me. All the things that you wanted for me. All the things that I should've given, But I didn't.
Oh, darling, make it go away. Just make it go away now."
You get the idea. Lovely song.
I just realized that KB could be taken either way - I meant here Kevin Bacon, who is quite the fine actor, given half a chance.
Going away now...

A year ago, the S'cubies' sweet Spike's English Rose, Cal was demonstrating what the S'cubies do best - spreading the love. quote author=cal link=board=oldparthome&thread=1087138868&start=70#4 date=1077628185 {{Rob}} I know just how you feel. We all feel like that on occasion. One thing I will say, though - you are far from being a failure. Think how much you give to others through your writing. I know it brightens up my day no end when I see a new chapter of yours has been added. I hope you feel better soon, Rob. Love to you. Cal
