What a long strange trip it's going to be, with opportunities aplenty to test your knowledge of trivial Doctor Who facts! Don't wait! The Tardis leaves tonight! Christopher Ecclestone was not a fan of Doctor Who and hadn't watched the show. In order to prepare for the role, he watched DVDs of something. What did he watch and what is the name of actor who starred in the production Ecclestone watched? Only two crew members of the current show worked on the original Doctor Who. Who are they and what are their jobs? Which previous "Doctors" were considered for guest spots in the 2005 series? All fantasic questions! Okay, CE said he didn't want to see any of the previous Doctors, but someone (no doubt Russel T. Davies) got him to watch "The Talons of Weng Chang" with Tom Baker. This was a very good choice and CE was suitably impressed with Mr Baker's performance. Two crew members? You've got me there. I know that Graeme Harper, director of the Fifth Doctor's swan song "The Caves of Androzani", directed the Season 2 (28) finale. Hmmm. I await the answers with interest! I didn't know any past Doctors were considered, but the Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann) is the only one I can think of. Because he's the only one still young enough! Edit: LOL! Sara beat me! She did, but. . .. Riff is Da Man! For answering #1 and half of #2 correctly. . .

F/X man Mike Tucker, who does the model work, and director Graham Harper are the two returnees from the original. And Tom Baker and Colin Baker were the two former Doctors considered for guest roles. Oooooh! I remember The Talons of Weng-Chiang!! It's a Tom Baker and Leela one!!! My favorite combo of Doctor and companion evah! **happy sigh**

Veronica Mars- Topic of InterestUnderstanding Cassidy: So he turns out to be a molested, psychotic mass murderer. Who knew? Who got taken by surprise? Looking back how can we better understand his character's personality and action in light of this revelation? Today I ran across a compilation of Cassidy scenes that some one put together in an effort to understand his character better. vmcp.nfshost.com/Thanks for this, Liz! **makes note to watch when home** I've been trying to really notice Cassidy any time he's on the screen in my watching of the reruns - just to see all the little clues I missed earlier. But a compilation of just him is, like, the perfect answer to that!

Was just rewatching the episde of "My Name is Earl" with Brett Butler as Joy's mom and found myself just falling on the floor again with every utterance of "don't you judge me".

So last week we discusssed Smashed, and this week we're discussing Dead Things. Season 6 stirred up lots of controversy, but personally, it's one of my favorite seasons. I have kept several fan-made videos centered around the Buffy/Spike story that I can watch over and over. One is availabe at Paper Cup: Videos by Here's Luck. It can be dowloaded directly here. It uses the song "Blood of Me" by Heather Nova, and is quite evocative. Warning: one use of the f-word in the lyrics. Does anyone have a fic, a factoid, a picture, or a video that they like relating to that season?

I'm just sick with anticipation that someone will be able to answer these questions about Doctor Who! Christopher Ecclestone is the third actor to play the 9th Dr Who and his is the third version of the 9th doctor, though the only one that is canon. What other actors have played the 9th Dr Who and what were the names and genres of the productions in which they appeared? Not answered!
What is the name of the actress, who appeared in Aliens of London and World War Three, was offered a role in the 1963 production of Dr Who? Bonus Question: What was the role she was offered and the episode in which she was to appear? Bonus Question 2: What is the name of the actress that actually landed that role? Not answered! Torchwood is the name of the series that is a spinoff of the current series. How did that name come about?

It is an anagram of Doctor Who, but though the remainder of the answer is from the show itself, it's more interesting than the real life answer, so you get a lovely trophy and a huge, Woo Hoo! Shan yanks the smarty pants right off Doctor Who!

Penelope Wilton, of course! She’s also in the Tenth Doctor’s first adventure, “The Christmas Invasion”. She was supposed to have a part in the Cyberman story “Silver Nemesis”, but that was in the 80s not the 60s. I could Google the rest, but I’ll be good. As for Torchwood, there’s two answers to the question. But I see that Shan has already posted a spoiler about how the name comes about in the series, so I'll tell you how they came up with it in RL. ;D When production tapes of the series were being moved around, it was decided they should have a code name, and “Torchwood” was chosen as an anagram of “Doctor Who”.

Well, it's pretty pathetic when my trivia questions are wrong. But, yes, it was Penelope Wilton and she was to play Lady Pienforte in Silver Nemesis. And, congratulations on getting the Torchwood answer correct!Do you want your special prize?
