//Can we speculate, then, that it's the PTB behind Spike's return? And will he be like Darla? I'm hoping for more corporeal personally but that's just me.// Forgot about the PTB . . . may be onto something with that and maybe they will be having something to do with Spike popping up in LA. Maybe as a safeguard to the Fang Gang working with WH. On another note, I was reading monday's transcript from Kristen and she mentioned the possibility of one of the female recurring characters from BtVS moving over to a recurring role on AtS, to add another female to the mix. Didn't ready the rest the the transcript after this. So I wonder who she is thinking of?

Betsy - Read that transcript this morning. Kristin went on to say that she's heard that producers are talking about bringing Harmony on to Angel. While I agree that Fred shouldn't be the only female on the show now and the show NEEDS a smart, sassy bitcha that was Cordelia seasons 1-3.5, I really hope the producers do not bring Harmony over to the show. -L :-) Edited By Lee Hollins at 5/21/2003 2:26:00 PM.

Right you are, Ellie, and I hadn't yet thought of that. He became the thing he most desired and was reaching toward all his life and unlife. Yes. Thank you. Nan

Just my thoughts - In "I will remember you" Angel chooses to return to his vampire state because he cannot help the helpless as a human. Angel believes he has much to pay for because of his days as Angelus. He knows about the Shanshu prophecy and may feel that he still has "miles to go" before he is worthy of being human. Being able to be have sex with Buffy is certainly connected to being human in his mind. Because he is the introspective, brooding, guilty man/vampire that he is, I don't think he would want the curse removed. He may believe that he has more to atone for and many more people to save, and if the curse was lifted and he could be with Buffy, he would be distracted and would be no help to the helpless. He feels that he must fulfill all of the obligations in the prophecy - demons, apocolypse, etc. before the curse can be lifted. He has not, and because he is an honorable, noble hero/champion, he must struggle on. I think Willow would ask Angel first before doing anything quite so life-changing. Willow certainly would understand Angel's reluctance to give up his mission before it is accomplished. As he told Buffy in "Chosen," "sometime is something" and "I'm not getting any older." He may feel that he has still has time - although non-vampire Buffy will get older so it is a conundrum. But we all know Joss loves conundrums. Lori Del Rossi

Lee, I noticed the same thing. However, buffyguide.com still has it being released in August, so I'm holding out hope that amazon is out of the loop on this.

Hasn't anyone staked her yet? If not I'd do it for free -- what an annoying git she is. I would rather them bring Amy over on a recurring basis.

I know this is late - but I love riddles. Do you think (referencing David C's inside joke comment) - that someone mentioned getting their walking shoes (isn't that the term for being let go?) and it just kind of mushroomed into a joke? And did anyone else notice how the amulet's blue color matched the blue in Spike's eyes? "Windows to the soul" came to mind. Ah, I'll miss this show Sandy Shores

You all really get me thinking . . . Someone mentioned that if Spike came back as a soulless vampire, he wouldn't have to fight for his soul again, but could get it via Willow. Sorry, I think Spike would rather stake himself live with that "can't risk sex" curse. Also, I would rather see him staked. Corporeal - definitely! A non-corporeal Spike is not Spike. I mean, half the fun is thinking how nice it would be to grab on (Miss Pamela told us all about it). EFFULGENCE: ellie - yes, great image. Spike, way back in FFL, told Dru he was looking for something effulgent - but she took him to the darkness instead. He couldn't have gotten more effulgent than he did in that last ep. I guess that's why he kept telling Buffy she glowed. I'm sure everything was glowing, from his perspective, at the end. That was some climb toward the light that boy made. Last night, Spike became a true hero. Like Buffy in Season 5, he gave it all up. And even more than Buffy, because he went from the darkest place imaginable, to the lightest place imaginable - without nearly the family and friends and support she had in Season 5. What a story arc. I have no complaints about the way his days ended in a blaze. Edited By Spring Summers at 5/21/2003 2:42:00 PM.

No no - I do not like Amy. She is just nasty without the funny that Harmony has. She has zero appeal. What's to like? If I had to choose, I would choose Harmony over Amy. I want Dawn.

Athene said: //And Spike cried out something about drowning, which will, no doubt mean something in some episode of AtS next year or the year after.// Or it may have had something to do with the *drowning* torture Spike was subjected to at the behest of the Druisalla/FE. deborah

Lee- I had not heard that harmony might be added to the mix- think what they were able to do with Andrew.. there could be hope for Harmony yet- she is a good comic acress.... I would rather see Darla re-furbished (un-extinguished?) b/c i really liked her character/arc but I am not opposed to harmony ellie I'd also like to see Rhona but I guess there is zero chance of that....

So anyone else suffering from a bout with depression today? I sort of feel like the kid who just finished opening up a whole slew of really cool toys on Christmas morning, the living room completely overtaken with nearly everything I could ever want, and my response ... "This is it?" It's not that the toys a substandard. It's that I don't want to be done unwrapping yet. I almost completely agree with Matt Roush's review of the Buffy finale, because he said his only quibble was it was too short. He, too, thought the post-battle moments were short-changed. But like him, I also agree that it's a minor quibble, and more a reflection of the latter part of this season than the last episode itself -- there seemed to be several elements of the last several episodes that I felt deserved more focus than they got. But in the end, it was still a great finale. I do disagree with Matt's analysis on one point -- he said it was a good idea that the WB announce Spike's joining the Angel cast early like they did. Of course, Matt is also the main one who doesn't like it when Stephanie Romanov is slated to appear as a surprise at the end of an Angel episode, but her name is in the opening credits slate, thereby spoiling the whole surprise. I for one would have rather had the whole shock of Spike's "death", only to have them announce today that he would be joining the cast of Angel, so we could all come out of our depression together with a resounding, "What the ...!?" Anyhow, I've gone pretty much into lurk mode now. It's hard to write when you're curled up in the fetal position, wanting your mommy. Can't say how long I'll be like this. But I miss Buffy. It's just a TV show. Yeah, and my mother is just some broad. Right.

James, David responded to my post in Part 33 about the Angel Season Two release date. He said that Yahoo is still showing it being released in August. So...maybe with Yahoo AND Buffyguide.com saying it is still scheduled to be released in August, there is still some hope. Because I really don't want to whup some ass if it's not released this fall! Especially after they get our hopes up! ;-) -L :-) Lee Hollins
