Heh! The spy biz is totally ruining any cover story of Chuck being about to pull his life together again, isn't it?
Then again, he's got a steady job that he's good at and is happy and social and so on, so . . . What's so bad about the life he's apparently living?
Other than meeting expectations of what he's "supposed" to have accomplished?
"We're losing him! . . . Maybe we should form an alliance? We could be best friends." ;D

Are they actually using the real company name of Atari? Interesting!

Cool! He hid the code in all the games - a special level only he could reach? Only I'll be that Jeff got there too. And that's why they want him. The fireball and then the elevator doors being dented in? Very cool effect. I mean, I'm not sure that it would really work like that, but it looked wicked cool!

Oh! Of course! Jeff will have to play the game to save the world!
How very Bond. Except not. ;D

Heh! "C'mon! People who were into that game are in their '40's now. They've got jobs and kids and wives and . . . " And Chuck is just shaking his head behind them. ;D Roadie for Mama Mia with his own moke machine. And now, the gathering of the nerds!! ;D What do you want to bet, Chuck ends up getting credit for bringing in business to the Buy More or something because of this. And the efficiency guy gets off his back.

So, Chuck is gonna attempt it, eh? Hmmmmmmm. OMG! Rush! Rush is the secret to the game and the hidden code? Heeee! And the bad guy was stealing the same snack!! Action! Chuck with the game! Sara fighting the guy with the knife! Rush! **jumps up and down, getting all excited** Aaaaaaaaand the world is saved. ;D OMG!! Buster the creepy efficiency guy is here to stay?! Heeeeeeeeeee!! Oh. Did Sara just get him the diploma? I'm not sure if that is really gonna make him totally happy. I mean, it does get him out of his sis worrying, but I bet he'd want to have done it himself. Ah! But he did earn it - cool!!

I also, also thought that he wouldn't probably like having the diploma gotten for him via "pull" of the govt. But I agree that it's okay for him to get "life credit". (Still most people can't get their last few college credits that way.) That said, it's going to make even less sense for him to continue working at the Buy More.

Another fine episode. Last Starfighter meets Wargames meets James Bond? I dunno, but whatever it is, I do love this show. I am also amused that Chuck is deftly skewering the spy genre, whilst NBC is running a deadly serious spy show at 10PM on the same night.
Jeff isn't just an übergeek, he's a creepy stalker übergeek. Ick. Anna isn't going to be happy.
Morgan comes through for Chuck. What a great guy.
The music-video action montage of our three heroes all working to save the world was beautifully constructed. Normally, I don't like music-video action montages, but this one actually worked.
Chuck was finally recognised as the hero he is, but not for saving the world. Did anyone else hear Willow saying, "No one will ever know how close it came to stopping. Never know what we did"?
Casey's reaction to the satellite's shutting down, "Damn". Hee.
Chuck has his diploma from Stanford, finally. At least he's got something for being a secret spy.
The last scene between Chuck and Sarah - she tells him to make a wish, he looks at her. Awwww. Sniffle.
P.S. Once again, I gave up ten minutes into Heroes. I'll watch it later. It's a sad commentary on a show I used to enjoy that if the schedule was reversed, without question I'd stick around and watch Chuck at 9.

Why do the "You went to Stanford and now what are you doing with your life" discussions sound so familiar?

I don't have any particular affinity for Atari, but I think it's really cool that they included it in the show since it's such a big part of geek culture.

Chuck got his diploma. Aww... except I'm not sure it makes much sense. I can see them working some kind of independent study thing, cause that's pretty easy to do provided that you can get some one to agree to sign the paperwork for you. There's no physical education requirement at Stanford, though. The whole thing really hinges on what Chuck's major was and what he was missing exactly, credits for his major, distribution requirements, or anything that will bring the total to 180. I'm overthinking this again, aren't I?

Hey, this guy was 12 credits short and now works for us and (possibly also says) and we actually know that he wasn't cheating so we think..... Then, again, presidents of prestigious colleges might not want to cooperate with the CIA. Maybe if the President called. Then, then again, maybe they just hacked into the Registrar's records and changed Chuck's entries (although that's not what way implied). But, yeah, minor plot detail so possibly overthinking. My question is "won't this make it even harder to explain why he stays at the Buy-More?"

My question is "won't this make it even harder to explain why he stays at the Buy-More?" It's definitely stretching credulity if he continues to stay in that position. He could easily rise pretty quickly up the management ranks if he wanted to; everyone already looks to him as the leader. He could easily succeed at something else if he puts his mind to it. I think it depends on exactly what Chuck wants out of life and until then he's going to keep floundering.
