I think it had to do with him seeing what it was REALLY like to have nothing else in his life besides the BuyMore. And he wouldn't wish that on his worse enemy, or even Morgan Grimes. He was forced into a position of empathy. And Chuck kept trying to help him out, and Morgan kept turning to him for help, so really, Morgan was instrumental in Casey being in the position to blackmail the general for his job. I think Casey's seeing his ex and his daughter got him thinking about what his life could've been, if he'd chosen differently. He's beginning to understand what Chuck is going through in trying to become a spy so he can be with Sarah, I think, and what Casey lost by becoming a spy, and that's what motivated Casey to kill the mole - he doesn't want Chuck to become like him, a professional killer. And he doesn't want Sarah to think Chuck is a cold-blooded killer, and that's why Casey finally told Sarah the truth about Chuck's red test. Very good points, about Casey and his past being a key to his actions now - thinking about all that. Yep!!

What a ride! Nick and Nora Charles! The 39 Steps! Hounds of Love! Handcuffs! Not to mention General Beckman - "It's about damn time", Yes, I laughed out loud several times. You really just have to abandoned yourself to the silliness. Jim doesn't enjoy it half so much as I do. He kept saying "it's a Lucy episode" -- like that was a bad thing! I Love Lucy is a classic! He also complains that you can see things coming. Well, maybe some of the SJotW (Spy Job of the Week) stuff, but actually I was so relieved that the writers didn't disappoint me by taking the typical route of them not actually communicating with each other, or being torn apart, etc. They do stuff like not just make Morgan a comic foil but actually have him contribute. And I liked acoustic Jeffster way better than heavy metal Jeffster. The only thing I'm not happy about is the possibility that Ellie and Awesome are heading out of the picture. Please tell me that they aren't being written off. Especially without her knowing the truth about Chuck. And I LOVE how Zachery Levi is as believable as suave spy as he was loser nerd. Except: in bed with Sarah in the apartment he shares with Morgan? Ewww.

Honestly? I thought Chuck was a bit of a yawn. Saw Ellie's kidnapping at least 2 episodes ago. Am not swayed by brief, random appearances by Scott Bakula (who is certainly looking the worse for wear, even if that's supposed to be the character) -- I prefer to focus on the primary characters.
Also? Chuck's lying is NOT attractive.

That was a ride and a half. They killed Chuck and Ellie's dad. They blew up the BuyMore. Well, actually Morgan blew it up, but he didn't mean to. Chuck apparently got Intersected with what I assume was a prototype, when he was a little boy. Whoa. And Chuck and Ellie's mom is alive and in hiding. Again, whoa. Should be an interesting next season.

At least we can see in that the reasoning behind why Chuck will get back into the spy trade. But I will scream if he makes the unilateral decision to do so without telling Ellie after promising her to quit.

I got the impression (and I could be wrong) that Mom went into hiding, like their dad, to protect Chuck and Ellie. This family seems to have a history of not being honest with the ones they love because they want to protect them, don't they? Seriously, if Ellie had been honest with Devon and Chuck had been honest with Sarah this season, a whole lot of heartache and damage might have been averted.

But now that Chuck has been in the CIA for 3 years why can't he know her? Unless she is in the custody of bad guys, perhaps forced to work for them under threat to her family, who don't want Chuck to find her. Also -- they need a fresh villain next year -- not another level of CIA infiltrators who are taking over from inside.

Is it just me or did last week's episode have a serious issue with continuity re Ellie's pregnancy? 2 weeks ago she was (rather suddenly) looking about 5 months along. Her mom saw her in a gray sweater in the baby goods store. Then, last Monday when she had the face to face with hand-cuffed mom: 1. She had on a red sweater and an all but totally flat stomach AND 2. LH/Mom never made one mention of her pregnancy.
Were the eps filmed out of order? Even so, seemed quite disconsonent to me.
