Interesting twist to have the flashes make him unconsciously do things now. Like suddenly yell in another language or attack his coworkers. And it's an intriguing twist to put Chuck into the position of being a handler for Devon - nice mirror of himself in the first seasons. Yes. And Devon is doing a nice job of going from "awesome" to "help, get me out of this." Nice to not have him be one-dimensional. But I do NOT like the idea of Ellie remaining clueless for too much longer.

I continue to enjoy Chuck -- I just get a kick out of Zach Levi -- I can't say these past 2 episodes have been favorites.

Either that or he's just bad at delivering them, but I think it's the writing, at least for that character. But he seems pretty wooden.

Ha! Assistant manager Morgan. All your little tricks and traps, I know them all – I taught them to you. Man I covet that first class international experience. Oy!! Casey doesn’t command respect, Morgan, he engenders fear. So, does the new guy want to test Chuck, or get him killed? Hmmmmm? OMG, Morgan, you’re enlisting Casey to fight insurgents at the Buy More? It will be a massacre, I tell you, a massacre!! So, he had to pry the needed item from someone’s cold, dead, hands. Also? What the hell with the not providing back up when an agent calls from the field?! That’s not good spy-operations! Good operations are focused on getting the task accomplished and frequently provide a massive amount of back-up and support for one person, simply provided in a way that doesn’t compromise his cover and thus endanger him and the mission. You lose at teaching spy stuff, dude! Ha! “ Or, maybe you remember him from the volleyball incident.” Brainwashing Lester and Chuck is still in trouble. Of course! Huh. So, it’s a flight attendant who is the poisoner, not the nice woman he was talking to? Now that’s a twist! Also? Yay, Chuck, for saying what many of us say during action movies and what not, “You shot a gun on a plane? Are you crazy?” I still don’t quite buy that new spy leader is really handling things the right thing, frankly. But of course, he’ll learn the value of friends as family and bonding together and so on, yes? Yeah, and I'm not really caring all that much about him. Bored now! Ha!! Oooooh! New permanent (or semi-permanent, at least) love interest for Chuck?

Chuck? Extraordinarily horrible at developing an asset. ;D
Seriously, dude!
Sleep-over at Chuck and Morgan's place? Next hire, find him a wife? Even Morgan looks scared at that, for just a moment.
Tranq-n-stein. Ha!
Also? Between the new geek guy and Captain Awesome, they're doing a nice job of showing him the icky underside of his own initiation as an asset and life now. Oooh, and new geek guy has his own portable intersect glasses! Cool!
Weap-con?! Ah ha ha ha ha!!
Oh come on. Grab the laser pen from my pocket with your mouth? Total fan service! ;D

Total fan service! ;D Sarah is seeing herself in the "new" Chuck--and that is clearly NOT what she wants for him. Casey thinks it's cool that he is becoming "a real spy," while Sarah is really sad that his innocence is being corrupted. I remember them threatening Chuck with being held underground, like they are now going to do with mini-Chuck. Ellie allying with Morgan? Interesting. Boy is she going to be pissed at both Chuck and Devon when she (and he) find out.

Coming back from one of the commercials there was a stock exterior shot of the Buy More, then moved on to the inside. Except Jim said, "Wait, back that up." So we paused on the exterior shot. The store to the left of the Buy More has a giant masthead proudly proclaiming: "Underpants, Etc." ;D

And they continue to find more ways to continue the theme of spy biz interfering with Chuck’s personal life. “I know what an epiphany is, Morgan. I’m asking what epiphany you had.” Ha! Also? How dumb am I that I haven’t twigged to the comparison of Hannah and Anna – both nerd herd women that Morgan fell for. **slaps forehead** Casey . . . coffee just the way he likes it. Black and bitter. I’m just gonna leave that one right where it is. Poor Casey, his urge to blow stuff up continually being thwarted. Peril for both the women he’s interested in, peril that he can solve for both by getting the bad guy. Interesting! And not the twist that they might have done, pitting two different perils against each other – making him choose. Awwww. The intervention, Ellie all happy and Morgan all sad. And of course Shaw has secrets. Shocked! Shocked I am!

Oh my gosh, last night's Chuck was awesome!
Chuck had gotten a bit hum-drum, but last night was wonderful.
Chuck as "Rafe" ( aka bad-ass Fonzie). Zach Levi is fantastic. Wonderful.
And the plot line becoming as much or more about Chuck losing himself to the Charles Bartholomew spy persona, Sara's conflicted emotions about that, and her wider realization that she no longer wants that for him OR herself. [Not terribly happy that's she's turning to ex-superman about it, but I expect that to resolve.]
And, again, Zach Levi's acting of Chuck's dilemma ("but I am a nice guy") -- trying to do the right thing but hemmed in by the choices he has made and the role he is playing.
Kristin Kreuk was marvelous -- so gorgeous, so effervescent, so wounded. But, yes, she had to go.
Not happy with the kiss at the end, but I guess it makes sense. He must, of course, die at the end of this arc.
Casey, awesome as usual. Naked Chest Awesome.
Oh, the 2 wannabe side-kick guys, thinking that Chuck is Rafe. [And yes, the real Rafe would do exactly that -- blow them both away without a though. So no matter how much he pretends Chuck will never really be able to take on such a persona totally. (Casey might, even down to offing non-innocent bystanders, but not Chuck.)]
Sarah's revelations about her concerns for Chuck.
Shedding the leather jacket as the first step in shedding the persona.
Did I mention that I thought this episode was awesome.
And, really, not hurt by the absence of Morgan.
And I'm waiting on pins and needles to have Chuck's secret come out. That better not be a total mislead.

That better not be a total mislead. Loved the co-worker's reaction and editorializing of Chuck's lovelife. Casey owns me, tho. Love his big-brother man-love of Chuck. And yes, ex-superman must die at the end of the arc. Just as ex-Lana Lane had to go. I like how they are contrasting Captn Awesome's inability to lie to his wife to Chuck's changing persona and the way he's been able to lie so easily. Sarah put a lot of love into the meal she made for Chuck and his family. Which made it all the harder to see her turn to the new guy.

Oh, Chuck. How much do I love thee? No, it's not West Wing or The Sopranos but this week was even better than last. I laughed, I actually cried -- telling Morgan the truth was not unlike the resolution of UST between Buffy and Spike: so satisfying. When are they going to realize that it's when Chuck suppresses his emotions that he can't flash. It's the release of honest emotion that frees him up. Oh, Morgan. Oh, Chuck. Oh poor Awesome. (Are they really going to write Awesome and Ellie off? -- only very temporarily I hope.) Oh BuyMore gang. I loved it. It's just so much FUN. Joy, joy. And next week ....

Captain Awesome . . . half-nekkid . . . hanging upside down . . . working out . . . **goes to happy place** I’m actually impressed that they had Sara realize she was building a potentially not-good pattern – getting involved with coworkers. ‘Course, I’m sure that’s not gonna stop her, eh? Scenes with Casey and Chuck are never not amusing. “Assassin is not normally a booth one finds at career day. How did you initially become interested in this line of work?” Scary!Chuck is scary. And it is a nice thematic match with him pretending to be an assassin and us getting hints about Casey’s past. See, this is why you don’t answer other people’s phones! (Actually, I really am a bit cranky with her answering his phone. That’s just something you don’t do unless someone says “hey, can you get that for me”.) “What do I look like, a workaholic? Man’s gotta have hobbies other than murder. I was here browsing music.” Ooooh, that’s gotta sting! Hearing her tell him her real name? Love advice from mobsters. Casey is gonna shoot the guy, isn’t he? Because he’s one of the 5 guys in the world who can make the shot? Yes he is! Man, in his conversation with Hannah at the restaurant, Chuck suddenly looks . . . well, grown up. Also? That was spectacularly bad timing on that breaking up conversation.

I like how they’ve come up with a new spin on the theme of spy life versus “real” life and Chuck’s struggles with that. The isolation and so on. Fired as best friend? That’s low, dude! And then Chuck has his back in the interview and is all “he’s the cream of the crop”. Awwwww!! (The “we’re so doomed” at the Buy More stuff? Very heeeeee!! Also? They’ve really been giving us some nice Captain Awesome eye candy lately. Sara with the binoculars so that first we’re just looking at his . . . shorts . . . niiiiice. ) Spy flash cards! Ha!! OMG, so now Morgan is gonna know about the CIA thing? Whoa! (Also? Heeeee over the incredible hugeness of the base and Morgan’s stealthiness!) I love that Morgan is all “we are America’s last line of defense” and thinking he has to make sure Chuck doesn’t freak out. “They can take our dignity. They can take all the hot women. But they can not take our jobs! And they will never Take. Our. Store!!” “How do we know we can trust you, son? That you’re not some kind of spy for the Man?” “Because the only thing I hate more than hippie neo-liberal fascists and anarchists are the hypocrite fat cat suits they eventually grow up to be.” “Yep, that works for me.” OMG OMG OMG! Chuck telling the whole story to Morgan while Lester belts out Creedence to the dancing revolutionary Buy More employees? Heeeeee!! And then Jeff . . . with the ether . . . “Peace out” and “want a hit?” and “fight the power” **dies from the funny** Morgan pokes the guy with a stick. Pokes him with a stick!!!! “Yeah, he’s out.” Awwww! New spy boss guy calling as the Buy More headquarters and praising them? Awww! CASEY!!!!
