Also, I'm getting my new water heater installed tomorrow morning. I was going to wait until I got back from Seattle and just shut it off while I'm gone, but I'm not comfortable with that.
Watch my car break down now.
;D

So glad you're going to see your Dad. I'm so glad he's doing better. I've decided to follow your example and make a trip to Flordia to see mine. Maybe I can get there for his birthday in March. March is such a load of bad memories now, it's a good plan to get away. Yes, it is. I wish my Mom and Dad lived in Hawaii. ;D

Shan: Have a safe trip and enjoy the visit with your family. I'm glad to hear your father is out of the hospital and home and appears to be in good spirits.
Diane: *hugs*

I am taking off for Seattle on Friday, planning on staying a week and returning home the following Saturday. My sister got there yesterday right after Dad got home from the hospital. They had been thinking of sending him home last Friday, after having had the surgery the Tuesday before, but Mom talked to his doctor and they decided he wasn't ready, so they kept him until yesterday. Dad had the flu while he was in the hospital, which helped slow his recovery. I talked to him a little bit yesterday and he was his usual smartass self, but drugged up and a bit vague with it. When I told him I needed to talk to Mom to finish a logistics conversation, he complained that it was a "conspiracy of females" so I told him "Hey, yeah. Welcome to our world..." So it'll be nice to see them and my sister, even if it's not under such good circumstances. I'm hoping to be able to take a bit of time and maybe go to the Woodinville winery for some R&R and pretty scenery. Be nice if they lived closer to the beach because, even though my therapist would disagree, I can't just take off and leave them in order to satisfy my urge to get my feet in some surf-sand. Later, gators. Not surf-sand, but y'all could do something v. PNW-ish, like going to the Medicinal Plant Garden at UW, or the Winter Garden at the Arboretum, or, if it's raining too much for that, the Conservatory at Volunteer Park. Also I think maybe this weekend is the Flower and Garden Show? Although that's more an endurance course than a nice refreshing break. Julia, I'm booked solid getting errands run, weekends being sort of an obstacle course for me...

Oh, and in the spirit of fairness, I have something GOOD to say about my ex. He called me yesterday and, unprompted by me, offered to take the kids for the whole time I'm gone. Good!

Well - get yourself engaged, and I'll design you a gown also! Well that might take a little time since the sort of bf is no more. I'm not so devastated because how can you have a real relationship with someone who doesn't read books or watch any of the television shows I adore but . . . . . . . still I could have done a little better I think datingwise. So far my new dating life is: 1. One date with exbf who I then told I didn't really feel that way anymore and he got REALLY MAD. 2. Two dates, numerous texts and phone calls, with person who had a cool boat but then on 3rd date clearly wanted to have sex and I kept putting off because I did not want to so that ended. So my goal is next time, if there is one, work up to an actual 3rd date with someone. But hey making progress. Hee! Sounds like good progression to me. You know, we should design bridesmaids dresses for Angelique's wedding, for the S'cubies - we all need to be virtual bridesmaids.

That's a nice thing to do. It's good when exes can help each other. The only place mine would have helped me was off a cliff or high rise. The kids must be getting big now. I recall Sophie as just a little thing. How old are they?

She did her Valentine's cards in December and last week started planning her birthday party. Her birthday is in July. Frazer turned 13 right before Christmas. At least 5'9" and probably 180lbs now. He's gonna be a monster like a lot of the men on my side of the family who get up to about 6'5" or so. He's got a good heart but sometimes it's hard to tell because his head's so far up his butt with teenaged XY-ness.
