Y'all are making me wish I could watch Spartacus. And it has a Whedonverse connection: I believe Tim Minear Steven DeKnight is attached to the show in some capacity.

Somebody would be highly offended, I'm guessing. Some crazy Ruth Buzzi type would come beat him over the head with her handbag. From my point of view not offensive, but I couldn't really tell what the baby was supposed to be a part of. Looked like Alien to me.

Bravo on the part opener Onjel. *hugs* Spring - for your next adventure. Woke up to snow again. We were going to try and drive south this weekend and see if we could find some warmer weather and green fairways....but... Thanks to all for your support and encouragement. Had a message waiting for me from Children's Services when I got home; she's going to call me tomorrow evening. I want to let them know about the situation - I mean, the I'm probably months away from having the house ready, that I'm single and currently childless, and I need some guidance on how I might best prepare, and be of service, etc. It is very nervous-making, because - big adventures ahead, no matter how you look at it, but . . . my life needs repurposing. I know my work serves the university, which is an educational institution doing good things and all that . . . but I need something besides work.

Very pleased with self. Self is working on file of 18 year old girl who's alleging disability due to ODD, ADHD, depression and so forth. Her mother mentions in the file that the girl also has hearing loss due to multiple ear infections as a child and several ear surgeries. Funny that nobody has developed this issue. If the kid can't hear--no wonder she's frustrated. I'm putting an alert on the file and recommending to the judge that receives it that he/she send this kid out for hearing tests and maybe updated psych ones. Not only might it earn her her benefits--but if they can give her a hearing aid, the ability to hear better just might be enough to help her overcome some of her other difficulties. Good work!

And then there was one too many telemarketers, and I said something rude before I hung up. Just the one word, after he claimed he didn't know we're on the Do Not Call list, but still, not good of me.

College is fun and interesting. And breaks in lessons are good. Yes. And I don't have a headache and it isn't going to come back and it doesn't hurt if I look in the direction of the lights. Optimism, I has it. All good! Why not be optimistic! Glad you are finding college fun and interesting. That is 95% of the battle.

You got the snow we got on Sunday night, but I think you got twice as much. It's been a snowy winter, but no terribly cold days below 0. I'll take snow over 20 straight days of -0 weather anyday. But enough is enough. It's time for spring! And I'd say we're getting it today. It literally hasn't stopped snowing since yesterday afternoon, and there's more than a foot of snow on the porch railing now—it's even deeper in places on the porch itself. When Kaylee tries to move around where I haven't already walked the snow is up to her chest. Speaking of Kaylee... when we went out this morning I strapped on some snowshoes to make walking a little easier. As I tried to take some pictures, wiping the lens clean frequently, I caught the edge of one and started toppling backward. It was a bit of a slow-motion fall, so I was able to keep the camera safely in the air. But as soon as I landed, Kaylee ran over, poked me in the face with her nose... and promptly started digging at my coat pockets to try and get to the cookies she knew I was carrying. Lassie she ain't. She's just wanting to keep her strength up, for your sake! I mean, how will she be able to run for help, if she's weak from hunger?
