It's my new favoirte show! So much fun! I know Modern Family is getting all the critical love this season, and I like it well enough, but my two new fave half-hour comedies (now that Better Off Ted was taken from us - the evil network bastards!) are Community and Cougar Town. ;D Modern Family has it's great moments. Cougar Town is damn funny, and surprisingly introspective, despite it's name. We really love The Middle, too. The family is soooooo quirky - even the house is in apple green and funky colors..and the addition of Chris Kattan as the co-worker friend has really pushed it up a notch. *yawning over the Oscars* Ooooooooo.... but there is Bradley Cooper and Gerard Butler giving out the visual effects award......they both deserve a visual effect award.

Interpretive dance to the nominated scores? SERIOUSLY? This is all a parody of an awards show, isn't it? The real Oscars must be next week. Ha! That was truly awful - the dance. I mean, come on ... seriously?

I never, ever, ever watch the award shows. I'm either bored to death or painfully bored to death. ;D Like Spring, however, I do like the fashion reviews, however.

Glad she sorted then out. I do understand your Mom. I wish I had had caregivers, even bad ones, those first few weeks were an absolute hell. If you want, I'd be glad to call and talk to her. It might help to talk to someone who has been through it. An acquaintence gave my number to her mother in the early weeks after. While she couldn't do much, it helped to talk to someone who had been through it. Thanks, Diane. I appreciate your thoughtfulness. My mom's daytime caregiver was widowed about a year ago, and she's helped a lot. She's also been dragging my mom out and around, making her go out and talk to people and go shopping, and things like that, which has been good. I'm just glad that the Aged Ps had accepted the idea of part-time help by the time my dad got worse, so they had the service to call when my mom needed day and night care. If we'd had to go into this cold, it would've been even worse. Thank goodness for the good caregivers!

I'm swtching back and forth between the Oscars (for the eye candy) and a recorded Stevie Ray Vaughn concert (for my sanity). The fashion reviews do rock. Especially the Go Fug Yourself review.

Julia, one of the best things she's worn in public.

Hmm, I thought Smurfahontas would do better last night. Glad to see Bigelow do well, & Sandra Bullock has been a favorite of mine through good films & bad.

I didn't see Avatar, but it sounded so "been there, done that" it just didn't interest me. Don't know beans about The Hurt Locker, but it sure seems to be getting the accolades. If I ever get my head back to a place where I can easily sit through "anything other than light" productions that are over an hour long then I may watch it.

Hmm, I thought Smurfahontas would do better last night. Glad to see Bigelow do well, & Sandra Bullock has been a favorite of mine through good films & bad. I only watched bits and pieces but I'm thrilled Kathryn won (especially in front of her sour-faced douchebag ex - sorry not a Cameron fan) and Sandra (who looked gorgeous). And could Tina Fey and Robert Downey Jr. do comedy bits all the time? Please? Loved the Hughes salute and the In Memoriam also.

Sandra Bullock: Best. Acceptance. Speech. Ever. Lovely, and apparently quite sincere, recognition of the other ladies. Shout out to MOMS! and special thanks to "my lover, Meryl Streep." Yep, best of the evening.

Only other comment -- that's James Cameron's wife he was sitting next to in the blue? I thought maybe his mother. She is way overly thin -- to the point of looking quite ill, IMO.
I"m looking at the photo slideshow on Huffington.
Miley Cyrus: I wanted to yell at her to stand up straight, but then she would clearly have popped out. That type of bodice annoys me for that reason: too often they don't seem to be fitted correctly and the woman has to stay slouched over because the bodice is too short for full coverage if you stand with your shoulders back.
But I think Miley hunches a lot.
Also, I knew Tina Fey was going to take some grief. And Mariah Carey. There weren't too many obvious horror stories. Just "I liked that one less (or more) than the other -- and much of that just personal preference. But Tina had just a bit of Jane of the Jungle going on.
Carey Mulligan should go back to brunette. (What a cute like pixie she is, though -- love the cut.)
