I am watching a movie I Netflixed called "Once". "Charming" little movie musical set in Ireland. Very entertaining and ..... charming. We have the basic subscription and manage to get 2 movies a week and when Nick is away (like he is again this week), I'll get a movie that mostly appeals to me on Wednesday - send it back and we get another one on Saturday. What usually happens tho is that I'll get a movie that I end up realizing that Nick would have enjoyed, too. Like this one. 8 out of 10 stars on IMDB. Once Won an Oscar for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Song - Glen Hansard, Markéta Irglová called Falling Slowly.I highly recommend it for the S'cubies viewing pleasure. Yep, I saw it a while back and squeed about it here, I think. Very sweet movie.

Morning Scubies. Misha Collins freaking owns the world. For those of you who don't know, Misha baked truffles and sent them to his fans who went to a documentary he co-produced. Fan-freaking-tastic. www.julien-k.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16497Misha really is taking over the world. ;D We Misha fans have the best overlord ever. OMG, that is adorable! Heck, I don't have dear friends who make me truffles by hand, much less nummy tv stars who I can pretend are my secret boyfriend!

I'm expanding the job search. Can someone name a state? All are OK except for Wyoming, Florida, and Virginia...too sparse, too humid, and too grr, respectively. Minnesota! Hawaii! Iowa! North Carolina! Rhode Island! Huh. I like shouting out random states.

I'm back in internet land. Had a FABULOUS time in Wyoming. I really wish I had some of those James Bond camera glasses, cause some of the scenery when I was driving, especially going across the Laramie Plain, was just so wonderfully awesome; it was almost a spiritual experience (OK, it actually would have been, had I not been driving at the time). The Director of the Wyoming Primary Care Association took me on a tour of Cheyenne and it looks pretty certain that I will be able to shadow at the clinic there this summer. Now, I just need to figure out where I'm going to live and what I'm going to do with my cats. Got a tour of the Family Practice Residency program in Cheyenne too. Chatted a little with some of the Residents and one of them let me shadow him while he did some OMT and he let me palpate the dysfunction too. Elk Mountain was amazing as always. I took some pictures, and I'll post them when I have a chance. Had a great time talking and catching up with my mom's cousin and his wife and I am now stuffed full of my mom's cousin's wife's fabulous cooking. She even made me a carrot cake for my birthday* which I am now contractually obligated to make for my friends at DCOM. I drove through Laramie and Fort Collins on the way southward, and I'm stopping briefly here to check the internets and get some snacks for the rest of the week. I also don't think I will ever live down the fact that when she asked me about my mom's recipe, I said that my mom always got it from the store. Which -It's true! Unless I'm completely forgetting something, in which case my mom will harangue me about that forevermore. But I really don't remember her ever making a cake from scratch, much less a special recipe of hers. How exciting about the clinic in Wyoming! Man, I can't believe how quickly time is passing - you're getting closer and closer to Doctordom every day!

Belated birthday and milestone wishes to everyone. My luck continues its steady run of bad. I had an accident yesterday. Didn't seem like anything at the time, just a tiny piece of grit flew in my eye. Only it tore a speck scarcely a millimeter big just on the scar left by the LASIK surgery. I was talking to one of the Admins when I felt it hit me. I instinctively rubbed my eye and I saw it just before I dropped it. The pain has been very bad and I have to put medicine in every hour. I'm going to see a specialist tomorrow to be sure else nothing happened. So that little bit of nothing that hit my eye during a simple conversation is now turning into a big something. I can't read too much so I have little idea what's been happening. On Friday I'm flying to Florida to see my Dad. I had to cancel last year's trip and I'm going if I have to get a cane and Seeing Eye Dog, so I might not be here much until next Thursday. Diane! I hope your eye is doing better soon!!

Pain seems to be beginning to subside a little--or maybe it's just that I'm staying in dimly lit rooms that helps. Still unsure of status of vision. Putting in the drops blurs everything. But I can read a little now.
Could I suggest Texas as a place to which one might relocate? Excellent universities (Rice! A&M! TSU! UT!) Mild winters. Affordable housing. Not-too-badly trashed economy.
Me!

Oh, exciting one! Come to think of it, what about Alaska? Could be interesting. Yeah, I'm fairly sure, with friends living up there and describing the cultural and political climate of AK, that it and Erin would not be the best of fits for each other.
