Hair washed, another attemtp at a lie down made and failed.
This is going to be a fun day, oh boy.
Julia, with the massive sleep deprivation headache and glimmering light-trails hallucination thingie well in evidence.

Allison emailed from Versailles (the town, but inview of the castle). I believe her exact words said something about "sitting with Margaret.....Daddy, I was NOT kidnapped by Albanian pirates...."
In a few days they go on to London, then Dublin, then Edinbourgh (sp?).
I've (almost) run out of things to say about Nashville. Sunday -- wettest day in history (130 years anyway). Saturday = 3rd wettest day in history. We've had more ran now than the averager for May/June/July.
Me: I've vacuumed, run the DW, returned stuff to 3 stores and had the oil changed in the girls' car ------ if ONLY I had mornings like that in my own home. Cab comes in one hour to take me to the airport. Not such a bad thing that Jim has to pick me up at 4:30 (hours before he would normally leave work) because both his suitcases (containing work stuff) are supposed to be at the airport by then and for sure they aren't getting delivered to homes.
Best story I've heard is aobaut Mike Siedel and Cantore being evacuated at 2 am from a downtown hotel.
Also, the took 1500 people from the ritzy Opryland Hotel and used school buses to take them to a shelter at a local high school. (Opryland sits directly on the Cumberland.)

Thanks for the vibeage, S'cubies. The thriceblasted killer liquidambar tree was the culprit this time. Rotorooter guy came, cleared the pipe, ran a camera down it to make sure there were no breakages, charged us $195 and departed.
Interestingly, it looks like the previous owners put in nice new black plastic pipe when they remodeled - the old red ceramic pipe doesn't start until our plumbing reaches the street, and that's the city's domain. So that's one less worry. I was wondering, after seeing two neighbors dig up their lawns and replace all their pipeage...
So I'm back to the laundry and Hodgeman-maintenance.

Hi. Been away for a bit, doing stuff. Also, not the least bit talky, lately. Miss you all, though. I hope Sue and family are okay. Anyone know?

Quick hi and bye! Little Emily is such a little ray of sunshine! Thanks for sharing the pictures. Sue and Becca - eep! *hugs* (Allison's trip sounds amazing, Sue!) Diane - your granddaughter is lovely! Hey Onjel! *scatters vibes to the S'cubies in general* //salutes// My weekend was busy - whoosh. The dogs were very well-behaved and they all left on Sunday. Alex and the baby (Alana) are staying with us until Wednesday. She has been a little angel, and grandpa is very good with her. She had her 6 week shots on Saturday and was really grumpy for an afternoon, but she recovered quickly. Gorgeous spring day today. I miss Patti, too. Thanks for the remembrances. RIP Lynn Redgrave.

My other Nashville friend says his power's out. Have you heard about outages and whether they are getting power back to those people? The stories coming out of there remind me of Houston in the wake of Hurricane Ike.
