Welcome to Part 1102 of the Soulful Spike Society [/center] Going with a blast from the past... And, for those of you who are either new or have that short-term memory problem from Memento, a few basics: 1. Read the rules.2. If you want to talk about stuff that's verboten on the main board, go here and chat to your heart's content. 3. Don't post spoilers anywhere but here. 4. Check out the great reviews and essays on the S3 home page. So, start with the posting already!

NHS nurse bloke just phoned back. Ice, painkillers, rest, put a pillow under it, and don't do anything that hurts. Is good to know.

Rachael, Emily's getting so big! Himself has a doctor's appt on the calendar, for 11:30 this morning. So yesterday I asked, because he hadn't mentioned it, if he was going there from work. No, he's taking the day off. So Himself is sleeping in, and I'm running around frantically, having gotten up and turned off the radio immediately, grabbed random clothing in the dark, showered hastily and stumbled through the bedroom in the dark so as not to disturb the sleeping spouse. Gotta go sort laundry so I can get a few loads done before Himself decides to arise from his bed of slumbers and bathe, and the entire process comes to a screeching halt so he can run his bath with full water pressure. When do I get a day off, huh? I want to growl like Shadow. grrrrrrrrsnarlgrrrgrumbleHISS...

Knock knock...anyone wanna see some baby pics? I love the smell of baby pix in the morning... Uh... Maybe that wasn't such a good movie quote...? Good news on the Granddaughter front--apparently Slayerfest '10 was cancelled because there weren't any attacks on the limo. Apparently prom "rocks", so maybe the limo needed work on its shock absorbers? Well, anyway, she had a lot of fun.

Spiral Galaxy NGC 3190 Almost Sideways Credit: Data - Hubble Legacy Archive, ESA, NASA Processing - Robert Gendler Explanation:[/b] Some spiral galaxies are seen almost sideways. NGC 3190, one such galaxy, is the largest member of the Hickson 44 Group, one of the nearer groups of galaxies to our own Local Group of galaxies. Pictured above, finely textured dust lanes surround the brightly glowing center of this picturesque spiral. Gravitational tidal interactions with other members of its group have likely caused the spiral arms of NGC 3190 to appear asymmetric around the center, while the galactic disk also appears warped. NGC 3190 spans about 75,000 light years across and is visible with a small telescope toward the constellation of the Lion (Leo).

smiley baby with good hair = win :-) That much cuteness just about made up for the fact that it's Monday and I only had a one-day weekend.

If there are any spare vibes lying around, I could use a few... Himself is, as previously noted, taking today off. It is also Laundry Day. And now, the plumbing is backing up. So I'm waiting for Roto-rooter to come, and laundry is on hold indefinitely, and Himself is underfoot, and the Elder Daughter is also underfoot for at least another hour, and the tortiecat is attention-seeking, and that's on top of the regular Monday and beginning of the month PC maintenance that has to be squeezed in sometime before the Younger Daughter gets home from school this afternoon, and, and, and... Is it bedtime yet?

When do I get a day off, huh? I want to growl like Shadow. grrrrrrrrsnarlgrrrgrumbleHISS... Overnight peak wind 50mph gusts, Franklin came to bed at freaking 5:40am and TA DA didn't fill my pillbox. I finally gave up and got out of bed at 7am, because when you get right down to it, someties the reason I don't sleep is the mattress sucks. Nurse Practitioner appointment at 2pm today to start new insulin (in addition to, not replacing, the old stuff), Dentist appointment tomorrow at noon to check the gumboil for which I've been taking antibiotics, MD appointment Wednesday in re item the first. Also, it looks like there's another big storm off the coast; typically, big lows in places like Tennessee (YIKES) lead to bad weather here, by interfering with the formation of the continental high. Julia, tomorrow is the 40th anniversary of Kent State; that's a day, exactly a month before my high school graduation, that I remember in meticulous detail.

Yesterday it was in the upper 80s, which was so far beyond wrong it would take the light of regular old wrong a million years to reach it.
