Anne- How is Kitty this morning? She got up a little while ago and had breakfast. She says the pressure in her chest is less than yesterday, but not gone, which is about what the ER doctor said would happen. So more ibuprofen and a quiet day for her. Just to add to her joy (and mine), she woke up with the Punctual Blues. PMS was probably part of her peakiness yesterday, come to think of it. I'm going to discuss the matter with Paul when he wakes up. Probably we'll both go visit my mom, but not for as long, which means I'd better call her and let her know that. Her daytime person was going to go look at houses while we were there, and we won't be able to give her as much time as we'd hoped. So I'm getting myself all worried and stressed, because I know my mom will immediately conclude that we aren't coming and start piling on the guilt before I have time to explain. The two are probably not unconnected; any water weight gain will exacerbate pleurisy. But poor Kitty! What an embranglement of misery! Julia, staring at my last three pills and wishing for teleportation again.

The two are probably not unconnected; any water weight gain will exacerbate pleurisy. But poor Kitty! What an embranglement of misery! Julia, staring at my last three pills and wishing for teleportation again. She's actually perking up - I just inquired as to her health, and she said she was "fine". Further inquiry determined that her chest still hurts, but not as much. I made a command decision; she's staying home from school tomorrow. Maybe I can get her an appointment for the echocardiogram, if I'm lucky, and anyway I think she needs at least another day to rest. If the school don't like it, the school can bite me; we don't take absences lightly and she's only kept home when she really is sick. My mom, on the other hand... Well, she didn't immediately jump to the conclusion that we weren't coming at all, but her response to the news that we couldn't stay all day was "Well, we'll see if we can work something out". I have news for my mom, she's not working anything out. She's not doing me any favors, and given a choice, I would've stayed home and got the rest of my grocery shopping done and all the chores I didn't get to yesterday, not gone up to Altadena and spent the day waiting hand and foot on her, not to mention providing emotional support, etc etc etc. I'm already exhausted, and her attitude is not helping. And I still haven't had my Mother's Day dinner out; that was supposed to be last night. Yes, I am immature and bitchy.

Anne - sounds like quite a scare with Kitty. Glad that it seems all will be well - vibes coming her way. Monnie - I think you should replace Gigi with this: Oh god, that was absolutely hilarious! Thank you!!!!! Vlad

<snip> Also like the " Sometimes I pretend not to remember details about people because having a good memory apparently equates to creepiness." Though this problem has unfortunately mostly dissapated with age, I had a really sharp memory for details, without really trying. I didn't understand it was in any way unusual. But when you remember someone and where they worked or something like that, you get . . . that look, like they think you've been stalking them. Or with men, that look where they think you must have a special interest . . . yeeeee. You mean the fact that you remembered my shoe size and my pet's name didn't mean that you had any special... oh, god, I am sooooo embarrassed. Please, ignore all those private texts. And any and all photo attachments to the emails. Seriously. *runs off to hire a good defense attorney* Vlad

Beautiful, warm summerlike day here today. Played 18 holes of golf in the sunshine. Didn't do too well, but had a couple of nice shots and one-putts. Thanks for the new part, Sara! Hey Onjel! Great to see you on the board. We miss you!!! Right now I'm waiting for my milk to cool so I can cook some homemade yogurt. I really need to break down and buy a yogurt maker. Trying to make it with a crock pot is a bit more time-consuming and the results are not as dependable. I've been dripping the whey out of my yogurt and the result is a nice thick and creamy yogurt, which tastes awesome with honey, walnuts and bananas. LOST finale tomorrow! that we get some closure and a nice twisty ending. I'm up to episode 6 of Lost! No way I'll be caught up in time for the finale. Wah!!!

Well, my mom called after we left, according to Emily, to find out if we'd left yet... When we got there, we found that she had a plan, and a good plan - she'd called her best friend and asked her to come over and visit so Paul and I could go home, because my mom's daytime caregiver had appointments to look at houses this afternoon. So when we left, my mom and her best friend were happily chatting while her best friend made lunch for both of them. I did a lot for my mom. I am tired. Ratbag and Useless did show up yesterday, and took my dad's car with them. Ratbag, however, couldn't be arsed to take the DMV ownership transfer paperwork with her to mail for my mom. I put it into an envelope, addressed and stamped it, and brought it home to put out tomorrow with the rest of my mom's mail. See? How hard was that? lazy little bitca grumble grumble snarlAnd when we got home, we found Kitty on the sofa, watching "The Eleventh Hour". I think she's hooked. Heh heh heh. I need a nap before we head out to TJs, which I want to do today so I can drive across Orange County to whereverthehell the cardio dept is, assuming I can get Kitty in tomorrow, assuming the paperwork went through properly. Gah.

It was exciting and scary at the same time. I feel like I learned more today than I did in all of the practicing and OSCEs I did this past year.

Tired Sara is tired. And didn't want to have to be worrying about posting photos during tonight's Lost extravaganza. As a result, today's (very brief) photo post is already up and done.
