Hi, everyone.... Beginning of the month after a long week end is always rough at work, so I'll just say: Glad the Memorial for Vincent went well for Spring... despite the heavenly waterworks. Glad Spring and Michelle sort of behaved themselves with the waiter..... even without Monnie and Lola's supervision. Was thinkibng of travelling up to Ann Arbor for this year's art festival. Do I dare? Hope that the Michiganders are hospitable outside of football season. ;D leftylady Hiya, Lefty! Maybe you could travel to Michigan in disguise? ;D OMG, Sue Sylvester is having sexy, non-murdering feelings for Will!! "Ill admit I fantasized in the past about waking up with Will's head on the pillow next to me. Except now I picture it attached to the rest of his body." #rofl13

Allison's latest project Well, it's the project she's been FREE-lancing on that she is now being paid one day a week by the company. (Archimedia) This is awesome!! You should be very very proud of her. Between Kartemquin and Archimedia she is working on extremely interesting (and high profile) projects. If only one of them would actually put her on payroll. But I think probably free lancing is far more common in the documentary film world.

I am so glad I was able to make it!! There was a whole thing where my garage jumped in front of my car and evilly ripped off its bumper, so I was going to cancel the trip. But thanks to my brother-in-law, some duct tape and several zip ties, I was able to go after all. As Spring pointed out, the hotel clerk was all up in my corn flakes about the purpose of my visit, but other than that, everything went well. The town is really charming, and I got to hang out with Spring. Right before the dedication of Vince's bench, it POURED rain. I mean BUCKETS. But shortly before everyone gathered at the site, the rain just stopped. It was really wonderful. And Spring was wonderful. She spoke about how much impact her son had on her life and the lives of others, and well, then there was a whole other kind of waterworks. I don't think there was a dry eye. Amazing stuff. After the dedication, there was a gathering with a slide show, and a display of Vince's artwork. Spring said that everyone was welcome to take a framed piece of art if they wish. Even though I never had an opportunity to meet Vince, I felt this desire to have something he created. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it felt right to have something made by someone that was so important to Spring. I feel very lucky that I was able to be there. Yeah, I had a sense that people were crying, but couldn't really look at anyone, because I had to keep it together through the whole thing, and not get started myself. I am glad you found something you liked in the artwork to take home. People did take most of it, which made me happy. I still have a few pieces.

Spring: thank you for sharing your dedication speech, and thanks for sharing the wonderful slideshow of your son. I find myself quite moved, and wish I'd had a chance to meet him in person.
You are a lucky woman to have him as a part of your life.

Got a lot done on my online class project today. I got as far as I could visualize, and am now officially stuck, or blocked, or whatever. Time to set it aside for the night. Besides, my hands hurt. Actually, I slayed a whole load of usefuls today, including finding a local lawnmower repair shop for The Husband. The muffler fell off our mower over the weekend. Tomorrow the Younger Daughter goes back to school after a week of sick leave. Wish us all luck. 'night, S'cubies, see you on the other side of morning.

Good work like this could very well lead to being paid.

Daughter has driven overnight from Houston to Pensacola to pick up grandson and drive him to Atlanta for a desperately needed heart test that the Navy will not provide. Grandson has chosen this time to disappear from the base for the past 24 hours, go drinking with buddies, start smoking and lose his cel phone leaving his mother with a missed doctor's appointment, no food and no place to stay. Justifiable homicide anybody?

The rest of the family is fine, but Yahoo gives me an error message every time I try to get to my mail. I feel very picked on.
