Yeah, it's been just ridiculously hot and humid around here, for June, at least. Thankfully, I just bought myself a treadmill, so I don't have to wake up at 4:30am to go walking without risk of heatstroke anymore. Congratulations on the new clothes hanger! Um, that's what a treadmill's for, right? *snort* I love mine. Not that I've used it yet. We just finished got it put together and set up and now I'm too exhausted to use it.

Arm hurts today. By the feel, the incision is about 3 inches long (if that) but is kinda sore. I think I overdid this morning. It didn't hurt when I woke up so I was treating it as normal. Then this afternoon it went hurty. I've taken Tylenol and am now using naproxin. Better result with Naproxin.

V. emotional today. Tom's moving hit me way harder than I expected. Probably just because it's on top of the all of the discombobulation around here (boxes from flood victims; boxes from Jim's office while new offices are being constructed; stuff everywhere while bathroom is being rehabbed -- and a spot of tiling that did NOT turn out well and will need to be redone, which is upsetting, unresolved health issue and new contacts that aren't all that comfortable. Plus the unrelenting heat. The kids have been coming and going for years now, but somehow this just felt like the end of an era of having one of them nearby. At least for the near future, and possible far future. I don't deal with emotional upset very well, so it's vicious cycle. Going to take the hard drugs (either benadryl or something marked "PM" and head to bed.) Need to get back to some of my own projects and rhythm tomorrow.

Someone here listens to Big Finish? Amazing! I mostly enjoyed the humour, like the crazy shifts in narrative style and incidental music, but the metafiction piled on metafiction got a bit much, like Nick Briggs playing himself and then morphing into the Cybermen, or Zoe talking about pseudo-historicals and base-under-siege plots and then being the author of what were basically Target novelisations. I couldn’t decide whether I liked it or not. And, yes, the ending was sad. They really blew an opportunity, there, I think. I didn't listen to audios until Torchwood did some audio exclusives and I realised actually subtitles aren't required. Then I started with the 8th Doctor series. And now I've got about a dozen randoms to go before I own every 8th Doctor and monthly Doctor Who title they've made. After that, Companion Chronicles, Gallifrey, and more... and then I'll be stuck waiting for the new releases... Big Finish is great fun. Fully acted audio plays with proper plots and everything. I don't think they're exactly part of the same continuity as the TV episodes, but they make a great complimentary 'verse. The metafiction and stuff I think is very layered on fan stuff. I mean, a lot of the 8th Doctor adventures you could just jump in and listen to, but imagine Legend of the Cybermen being the first time you met any of those characters! But then who would listen to Jamie and Zoe if they weren't a long time fan? And I usually love it when they layer in the long history of the 'verse. It just felt a bit much, maybe? #shrugs# I still sulking about the ending. I'm with you on the ending, and, yes, that play is definitely for quite serious fans. (Although kids have found their way into the classic series through plays like this, apparently.) There's been some great monthly stuff: Jubilee, Spare Parts, The One Doctor, Colditz, Master, Davros, Chimes of Midnight, King Maker, the Klein trilogy, and that really is naming but a few. I think my favourite short 8th Doctor play is probably Horror of Glam Rock. Hmmm, or is it Max Warp? As for other BF stuff, The first Dalek Empire and first Cyberman serials are very good stuff IMO, a bit more gritty than most DW releases. The Sapphire and Steel plays are good, too, if you liked that series. I especially enjoyed The Passenger and The Lighthouse. I found their recent Sherlock Holmes plays very enjoyable. Nick Briggs sold me the first one himself at a convention. The silver-tongued devil!

Also known as an iPod Touch. It's syncing right now, and I'm going to break it in with some Doctor Who... Soon you will wonder how you ever lived without it. Between Calengoo, Home Routine, and iTreadmill, mine's in use every waking hour. Oh, and some not-so-waking ones. For nine months now, I've waited out Emily's falling back to sleep by playing a card game on it.

Well, nobody told us, but The Biker's Daughter's son was born on the second, only two weeks past the due date, so there.
I'm having lots of hand pain, knee pain, and, oh, yeah, the costal cartilage thins is way in bloom right now, so I'm not ignoring you, it just hurts to sit/type/breathe/exist and that's hella distracting.
Julia, tired of complaining but OUCH

I still have my tried and true 3rd (or is it 4th) generation iPod. When it dies, I'll get a Touch, unless something newer and fancier comes along. My sister is getting an iPad, but I don't see myself wanting that in the near future. Congrats, Erin!
