SARA!! OMG, they boarded them and then unboarded them and then reboarded them! And she had to run thru airports! (But not jump over luggage.) But she made it, safe and sound. And we are at Comic Con! And it is awesome and terrifying and fabulous and OMG - so huge! SO HUGE!!!!!!
HUGE!! That's what she said. ;D

I have the specials on DVD. I could mail them to you. Is there any chance I could borrow them after Anne? I even bought them from iTunes but Jim won't watch on the computer but I bet he would watch them on the giant TV with me. And we have a local friend who will lend us the new ones (by which means she puts on DVD I don't know but she justifies by the knowledge that she WILL purchase the official DVDs once they come out.) If you have an iPod, you can transfer them to your iPod and watch them on TV. It's really easy:

I'm fine with a round robin. Anne, if I send them to you, would you send them to Sue when you're done?

Yesterday was last day of shadowing. Leaving Wednesday to go back to school. Will be very sad to be leaving WY, but happy to be getting back to having reliable internet again. Oy.

Good morning, sorry, I've been up for hours but one of Franklin's doc's office called his cell phone and then before he could call back called the house phone and thence my concentration was thoroughly blown to bits. He never leaves his cell phone in the same place twice, and any time it rings it takes me the whole time to find it- which I have to, because often it's someone from work with a server crash or other emergency.
Julia, I really hate telephones: I was a receptionist once

Also, Dan Schor has died.
Julia, one more remnant of the days when NPR was a news radio source.

I have just tossed the last remnants of my last experiment as a postdoc into the trash.
I have three trays of fly stocks labeled "French Lab Stocks".
I have an office and a lab space (lab space and office are still semi-occupied by other people, but my stuff is welcome to mingle with theirs during transition).
I have two and a half days left here, as Emily's babysitter is on vacation next week, so I'm only gonna be in lab to clean out my desk and bench on Tuesday/Thursday.
I have filled out my paperwork at SJ State.
I already have three e-mails from students wanting to work (for free) in my lab.
I am an Assistant Professor of Biology, tenure-tracked.
