Would you guys please remind me NOT to read Thomas Hardy when I'm already kind of tired and low energy? Just finished reading "Jude the Obscure" and now I've gone from sort of meh to seriously bummed. Formula for a typical Thomas Hardy heroine: Take one young innocent girl. Chase her up a tree. Set fire to the tree. Blame the girl. Diane *wishing her digestive tract would finally go back to its normal state of not working very well*Definitely for Tess of the D'ubervilles, but Jude gets chased up a few trees himself. I find Hardy interesting because he so directly talks about class issues and the tragedy of being persecuted because of how you were born. But I might need to be in a happier place to read it.

talking of viruses: my laptop computer just got one, I reckon. the virus checker says it cleaned it, but then it keeps on saying it cleaned it, again again, and is deleting a lot of my html files. I was reading here when it happened. I venture back from a different computer running a different browser with a lot more blocking stuff. Is very not cool. Not very cool at all. Hope your computer recovers without too much damage.

It is so very, very wrong for it to be 70 degrees out at almost 8 p.m. on the last day of September in Vermont...

It is so very, very wrong for it to be 70 degrees out at almost 8 p.m. on the last day of September in Vermont... It got up to the low seventies during the day here, but I was too whacked to enjoy it: very sleep deprived/headachy/busy, and it wears on me. Julia, Franklin is currently happily asleep in his own bed.
