#wavey#
today was cleaner day. It was not food day cause I forgot to order it. Is okay, I have soup and probably bread (it's bread until I open the bag and find it has turned into something unfortunate). I reckon if I take my shopping trolley to college I can do food shopping on the way home. The only teensy tiny drawback is I would also have to take my shopping trolley everywhere all day. Which I did last week, with my computer in it, until the wheels fell off. They went back on again pretty easily though.
... okay, so, more than one tiny drawback then.
I could do ordering food for a different day and just shop for supper on the way home tomorrow. That would probably work better.
Cleaner reminded me to wrap up warm if I go out. Several times. And told about the cold and the snow that will be here shortly. I am not looking forward to the cold and the snow. I got my winter coat out but I still haven't got the buttons put back on so they're half missing. Oops.
Also I did the reading for college tomorrow.
Ozymandias.
Should be fun.

also in the junk mail today was a shiny little postcard that offers to let you buy gift vouchers for £30 (about two hours) of cleaning, washing/ironing, hanging curtains, shopping, reading, letter writing, handyman services, painting & decorating, carpet cleaning, gardening, flat pack assembly, minor DIY repairs, house maintenance, pest control, general errands and/or companionship. Now that's a useful sort of a gift, that is.
I phoned mum to see if she wants one but she reckons she'll have to first think of what bits she could get other people to do.

Another of Grandma Sokolik's recite-from-heart poems; I've spent my whole life vacillating between thinking that poem is optimistic and pessimistic. Julia, trying to get the house warm enough so I can wash my hair and not spend the rest of the day shivvering

You are a brat. But you knew that. Thank you. Of course I did. But then, you knew the most likely outcome of your statement too, didn't you? ;D

Honestly, Sara - these pictures have been so great.
I don't know enough about National Geographic and what they go for, but I would suggest looking at past winners to see if your pics "fit" what they seem to be looking for in nature shots.
Everything is as ready as it can be for T-day. The house is shiny, the food is as prepared as it can be.
I even moved the china cabinet to make more room AS I NOW HAVE 19!! (so many requests to bring a guest).
The interesting thing about moving the china cabinet? Found all kinds of pennies back there. Vince believed that pennies could protect us from various evils, and everytime I move something I haven't moved for a long time, or open something I haven't opened from awhile . . . PENNIES! It's kinda like a quick "hi, Mom!"
When I moved his bed upstairs awhile back, I found he had ringed the bed with pennies on the floor.
Pennies, pennies - pennies from heaven.

Apropos of nothing in particular: This evening, I happened across Tavis Smiley interviewing Ambassador Joe Wilson and his wife, ex-CIA agent Valerie Plame, and suddenly it hit me - they're Chuck and Sarah as an old married couple.
Well, I thought it was funny. [/colbert]
