We have officially been inundated with snow. Poor Zak can't find a place to do his business and it's too deep for him to forage around on the grass. *sigh* Snow looks pretty but it's really a big dog's game. If enough snow is involved, even the large dogs have a hard time of it—I've watched Kaylee pace back and forth for several minutes just so she'll have a place to squat without freezing her booty off. Good point. ;D Thankfully, we haven't had snow that deep around here. I cringe for the doggies.

Finally got canceled. He thinks he will attempt to drive tomorrow. So, the worst of all worlds: spent all day today at the airport, still has a probably ugly drive tomorrow and misses all the things planned at work for the day. Oh, well, there are worse problems to have. "saga" continued: He must have been up at 4 am to check on roads. Chicago is okay but Northern Indiana is a mess. Managed to book another flight and headed to the airport by 6 am. Apparently he is in the air, arriving in Nashville at 9:25. It's a complete mess here. I have a court hearing tomorrow morning in the thumb area (about and hour and a half from my house) and the court isn't open today due to road conditions. I have no way to find out if the hearing is going tomorrow and may end up leaving my house at 5:00 a.m. for a 9:00 a.m. hearing. Stupid winter.

I've seen quite a few of these. I wish they offered a different kind of art. The anime look is popular, but other things would be interesting too.

Yep, then we have: Allie's bf Andrew from NYC to here on Thursday Tom's gf Sara from Chicago to here on Thurs Carolyn from Chicago to NYC on Friday Sara back on Sat Carolyn back on Sun Andrew back on Mon Barb, Sam and Gus drive from Chicago to Nashville either Sat or Mon Carolyn from Chicago to Nashville on next Wed Tom back to Chicago on the 27th Carolyn back to Chicago on the 28th Barb Sam and Gus drive back who knows when Allison to D.C. around the 3rd? ish? Possible road trip with 3 bffs to haul her stuff there but I'll be surprised if this actually comes thru. Jim and Sue to Houston and back Jan 17-18. Wonder what other trips Jim has. If Tom's is the worst experience of the winter travel holiday season then we are in GOOD shape. And he rented a car at the airport so we aren't trying to split 2 cars (and one w/out heat) between 4 drivers -- yay for adult children. Plus La-Z-Boy called to say they could deliver Jim's chair on Wed (unexpectedly early) so that completes my major house purchases AND solves the Christmas present issue for Jim all at once!

Busy Monday. Post meeting tighten-up. Minutes, project list. Need to send out the WHC date book calendars to 100 regulatory contacts. I made a rum cake last night for a co-worker's birthday which made for a nice break on this chilly Monday. Our department outing to the Million Dollar Quartet showing in Chicago last week was a lot of fun. Such a good little musical play about the 1956 jam session with Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins. I didn't know Perkins wrote Blue Suede Shoes, but Elvis performed it first so that it became associated with Elvis, not Carl. The performers were awesome - especially the actor that played Lewis - his piano playing was amazing. It was a snowy evening, which added to the Christmas atmosphere in the city. And we stayed in the city for a while after the play to let the snow plows do their work. Saw Eric Guitar Davis and the Troublemakers at a nearby blues club. He could play the guitar like nobody's business. Not a bad hour and a half entertainment for a $7 cover and tip. www.milliondollarquartetlive.com/Here's my department and some spouses in the lobby at the Apollo. Something got on the lens so it's a bit fuzzy.

We only have about an inch or so. The ground is covered, but no negotiation problems. Of course, for little Nanucci, it is plenty, but he is quite stoic about it all. He goes out and does his business without much fuss. Sometimes, he is so wimpy, other times, he is Mr Tough Guy.

Hmmm - quite the tales of winter woe! I am off Mon, Tues, Wed this week, with Children's Services coming over on Wed afternoon to start my "home interviews" in earnest. We have to have "at least three." And we will be delving deeply into "every aspect of my life." She said, "Yes, we'll know each other pretty well when this is over." Hmmm. I hope that means I get to ask her about her biggest fears and such. MAN!! I have nothing to hide, but I am just not that comfy talking over "all aspects of my life" with a stranger. The things we do for love.

Spent the day cleaning out the dreaded UTILITY ROOM.
Oh, the horror! I had given up on the one side of the utility room, where I had tools and such. Vince was constantly messing with stuff, and I just gave up on it and let things get all messed up and stacked up and such.
Of course, I found pennies in all the nooks and crannies. And the funniest little bucket in Vince's enormous "serious camping" backpack. It is very little, and sort of "60's psychedelic." I cleaned it and am going to start putting some of the pennies I find in it.
I also found a drawing notebook I didn't remember was back there, and new drawings of Vince's. I thought I had found them all.

Oh -
I usually have a terrible time when I clean anything that is very dusty.
I hack and cough and by the end of the day, I am wheezing.
But my doc gave me a prescription for Allegra, and it works better for me than anything I have ever taken! No drowsiness, and almost complete relief of the symptoms (did some minor sneezing, but nothing like the usual misery).
Viva Allegra!
I do not like Benedryl and kinda assumed they were all alike. When I think how long I suffered with this stuff . . . I is dumb.
