Cleaning lady coming for first time since influx of visitors and Christmas decorations. Was getting upstairs "ready to clean." All decorations down, all beds stripped and laundered and ready to be remade. All bathroom rugs in laundry room. Then I took the garbage and recycling down and got sucked into trying to make some minor organization in the garage which is still full of Christmas boxes and furniture discards and construction leftovers and empty boxes from light fixtures, etc. Well, a path is now cleared from the stairs to the outside where my car is parked. Next week we'll tackle downstairs which is still covered in unboxed decorations and ..... stuff. Now to get to the big stack of lists and jotted notes I'll been collecting since mid-December. And tomorrow is "returns" day. All my returns fit in one shopping bag but still manage to involve one store 25 miles away, a shopping mall 10 miles in the other direction and at least 3 or 4 other random stores sprinkled around west Nashville. So only about 8 actual items but an all day trek. Well, you did ask. Jim and I are still enjoying working our way thru season 5 of the Dr. Who, which we taped on Christmas day. There are things I enjoy about Matt Smith -- lots of humor and it appears the entire season is planned around a "big bad (event)" but so far he doesn't top either DT or CE in my book. What I find intriguing about Eleven is the fact that, even though he's the youngest actor to play the role, he comes across as far far older then either DT's or CE's Doctors. (In this scenario, Nine would be the disenchanted, exhausted 20-something...with Ten being the adolescent...all energy and excitement and kind of afraid of girls.) Whereas Eleven seems to be almost middle-aged in his worldview, mannerisms, and interactions with others. Just my view, obviously. Eleven's grown on me....but it took time. Good analogy. I have been burbling on the episode threads - Eleven is my favorite of the new three, and I think the writing is stronger this season as well. I think in Eleven you can really see that the Doctor is an old soul, as the saying goes, but it really takes the whole story arc to bring that out. Also it's fun watching Kitty watch (and rewatch, and rewatch) this season, she's so caught up in it. Anne, temporarily up from sickbed (cold has mutated into stomach bug) and headed back that way shortly

That is hysterical and I never even watched Dawson's Creek. How is CO treating you? You seem to have a bit more time during the day -- which is good for us.

Karen? Diane?). I absolutely think the writing is at the very least more even and overall better. Reserving judgment on #11 until end of season. It's nice to have a show we both like to watch.

Those are "vibes" -- for Anne to get well.
And Spring's interviews.
And Erin's job hunt.
What else are we vibing for these days?

I never watched it either, but I love that he can poke fun at himself! CO is good! One thing I notice is that people from this area are really proud of where they live. And I see lots of signs everywhere touting Colorado, or the city, or the local sports team. I don't know if I remember seeing that much...boasting...for want of a better word...when I lived in Michigan. But maybe I just didn't notice it, because it was part of the scenery. Michigan has it's "Pure Michigan" campaign, with commercials narrated by Tim Allen, but that's about it. But in the Boulder & Denver area, print and radio ads often bring up how healthy people are here, how pretty the area is, etc. It's nice, but it also seems a little over the top at times. Has anyone else ever noticed this in either their home town or in some other area they visited?

Maybe we all get high from the lack of oxygen at a mile above sea level, and fall hopelessly in love with Colorado... The more cynical side says: "Yeah, but Rocky Flat Nuclear Power Plant, Lockheed-Martin...but wait, look over there! Pretty mountain!" (That's what happens when I spend hours reading about branding and watching promos and reading about business practices.)

What a funny coincidence. Maybe it means that one of us is going to hear from Rob soon . . .or is going to need some life-saving . . . or is going to have an encounter with a penis? Hard to say . . . it must mean something. I encountered a penis a few weeks ago. Couldn't do anything about it, but it was nice to know it was there. Diane *remembering what Wednesdays are for*

Hard to say . . . it must mean something. Oh! One of us is going to grow a penis! That's what it must be!! This conversation is reminding me of this short film: The Most Beautiful Breasts In the WorldI'm kind of entertained by the prospect, but personally, I really hope I don't grow a penis. Or run into a guy who has a bosom.

I recall my cousins being very proud of CO's status as one of the healthiest states in the country or some such thing. So there's boasting, but I think there may be some stats to back it up or something.

Hey TPs -- there seems to be a bit of technical glitch on the Dr. Who pages.
I've posted a couple of comments recently but the only thing showing up on the front page is Lola's comment from June.
If you go to the Dr. Who section you can see that I posted yesterday on episode 5.01 but it doesn't register on the front page or under "New Topics."
Then, if you go to the 5.04 thread you can see my latest comment posted but it doesn't even show up on the Dr. Who page -- still just Lola from June.
I have 2 concerns:
1. If my comments don't register no one will see, read or respond to them.
2. If my comments on the Dr. Who thread aren't registered to draw your attention what other comments from other members might not be registering so I am missing them?
===========
well, now I've mucked it up by doing a test post on a different thread and it IS on the front page.
I'll just try reposting the 2 that didn't register.
Still, my second concern stands.

But I still don't understand why they didn't initially register. Even modifying the original post didn't work. But quoting has.

#wavey# that wavey dude is happier than I am. my new computer arrived but it is Windows 7; now I can't get it to DO things. and I can't make it have my emails in it. And that's about all I've tried to make it do yet. I emailed the dude that sold it to me. I can install Thunderbird and Firefox, I just can't find it all on my old hard drive or figure out how to make the new computer copy those bits and use them. I thought I'd asked him to make sure that bit worked. I'm sure it's a very shiny computer once I've figured it out, I'll just be a while figuring it out. Why can't things keep on working exactly the same? It's not like I've been asking it to do more or new or extra things since I got my first computer. Read my emails, write my essays.
