It certainly is.Welcome to Part 1121 of the Soulful Spike Society Main Thread!!!! 'Tis the season for parties, friends, family, drink and food. For quiet reflection, giving and receiving. For late nights and early mornings. For smiles and hugs. And, most of all, it's the season for the friendship, comradery and love our community members feel for each other. Enough of that. Let's move onto the prezzies good bits. ;D Do you want to curl up next to a nice fire computer monitor for hours of fascinating reading? Visit our Website where we have loads of essays, fan fiction and analyses sure to set the sugar plumb fairies dancing. Before you can tear off that wrapping paper open the rest of your presents, however, you should read Santa's Rules. If you want to play Santa's helper, you can dress up in your favorite elf costume and deliver gifts of wisdom and thoughts on the topics of the day over Here. For everyone who loves television, we have a whole area devoted to endless conversation about our favorite shows in The box with the big bow. If you want to know how to stay on Santa's good side you'll remember to be nice and avoid spoiling us anywhere but in the Spoiled Souls thread or under the little ghost button provided for you in the reply screen. So, be courteous to each other, have a great time, help yourself to the cookies, nog and presents and have a Very Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season!!!!

Shiny, Better Half! The daughters are just finishing up the cookies. I had to locate and scrub the plastic containers to store them in, as Himself had put them on top of a kitchen cabinet without wrapping them, and they're filthy and greasy and disgusting. So far I've got the gifts and the stuff I bought for stockings (including a few things for mine , since Himself insists I have one, but he doesn't actually do much shopping ) sorted into bags and stashed back in the closet. I'll get my mom's stuff and the little gifts for the caregivers and her nice neighbor wrapped later when the kitchen table is free, but the rest will have to wait until I have enough energy to deal with wrassling the fluffycat out of the bedroom so I can wrap on the bed. I can put a pattern board on the bed and a self-healing cutting board on that, but it'll still be too low for my back. Somehow, I just can't get into the holiday spirit this year. I wonder why?

Hey, y'all; fixing the watering trough just moved from "before it freezes again" to "right now, immediately."
Perhaps tomorrow gets to be my day off?
Julia, dammit.

And, just because I need to share the brain-breaking lengths to which fandom can stretch crossovers, H5O?Flashpoint, Steve McGarret and Sam Braddock and their pretty pretty special-forces angst.
Julia, honestly. Honolulu/Toronto is quite a stretch, although both series are in the AU/SF school of police procedurals

Ha! I'm a dumbass. Referring to my post in the last part, the bumper sticker is red & white, which means Oklahoma, not Ohio. I was confusing the colors used for OSU with OU colors. As Emily Litella would say, "...never mind."

Argh. So speaking of being less than thrilled with the real estate agent, she brought somebody by the house just now, with no warning whatsoever. The house is a *complete* mess. #duh# Well, at least this girl she showed the house to is a student, undergraduate, not med student, but she seemed kind of iffy about living here, so who knows.
