As soon as Lola wins that ski shack, it'll be a S'cubie haven! My sis and I are trying to win a "kitchen makeover" for our other sis. Having helped her with hosting Christmas at her house, we are well aware of her need for such a makeover. Anyhow, JIF is hosting a " use JIF in your recipe" contest, deadline January 17. So I have entered. You are allowed to enter twice - once in the sweet category, and once in the savory. I did both, though I like my sweet recipe a lot better. My savory one . . . I feel kinda guilty when I think that one of the recipe testers might actually have to try it and eat it. I made it today and ate it for lunch and haven't been hungry since. I've also been slightly nauseated ever since. These are probably signs that it will not win. But you never know what people will like, right??? I would tell you my recipes, but then I'd have to blow up the board. Dude, I think I was very clear when I stated that *I* was going to win the house in Vermont. Do I have to report you to a TP? And speaking of TPs, where has Rachael been of late? Excuse me? EXCUSE ME!!!! Please see page 2 for black and white evidence of who provided the link to even enter the contest. A-hem! Thank you very much!!!!!!! [Oh, yeah, and thanks for reminding me to re-enter again today. Be -- no worries we are just teasing.]

Some small snow here, of the dissappointing to children and annoying to cats sort.
Julia, wet, for the most important thing

Also: remind me not to spend too much time reading Cam/John fics today just because the Cam/John thing-a-thon went live at sg_flyboys. I have things to do, places to go, people to see et'c and so on. Julia, well, not until Anna comes home and my hair gets dry.

A new member started a thread to post:
Hi All,
I have lurked for a bit and am just coming into the boards now as a fully fledged user. I got my box set of BtVS for my birthday and I am in love with all things Buffy again, after suffering heartbreak when it went off the air (in grand style, mind you) in 2003.
I am a great admirer of Spring's reviews, but that isn't the word to do justice, Reviews, I mean. These are mini-books. Treatises, essays, short stories, poetry. I love them. I would like to write like that. I realize it's hard to and Spring has said, she has trouble getting to them.
I would like to ask, humbly, has anyone else ever tried to write a review? Submit a writing example? Tried it on? Been rejected? I am a writer, I love to write, I write well. I can spell, use grammar and a keyboard. I even have a few ideas. I'm also mad crazy in love with Spike (my husband knows and has blessed our union). I have his pic above my writing desk (Spike's I mean).
Well, you know why I'm here, now. I love Spring's reviews and I love your comments. I think they are the things that make it worth dropping the housework and running to, every day.
Thanks for listening,
Penelope Archer
I will answer her on that thread and encourage her to come over here to the main thread.
But I'm not totally clear on her offer -- if she offering to continue Spring's reviews then she needs to IM Spring directly I should think.
Anyway, just wanted to point out her post if nobody else had noticed it.

Thanks for reposting, Sue - I think she is offering to do her own reviews, which of course would be welcome not as a substitute for Spring's, but as her own take on things. Most likely she would start on the Buffy Episode thread and see what kind of reception she gets from the group, and if she feels comfortable, and the TPs think it's a good idea, then she could have her own corner of the S3 named for her reviews. My take on the situation , anyway. Any other suggestions?

Might be a good way for her to start out . . . pick a topic and write something. If she is thinking episode reviews, well . . . even then, she could start out on the essay page, picking out her very favorite ep, maybe. Well, we'll see how she responds and try to come up with the best solution.

Sigh.
Well, I knew it and let my guard down.
I have this appointment in Houston next Tuesday.
On Dec. 9 I was told by my pulmonologist's nurse that all records had been "requested to be sent."
I knew all last week that I should get in touch with the Houston doc to make sure that all records had actually arrived.
Left a message this morning for his nurse. Didn't hear back until afternoon. At first she said that HE said only the written notes from my pulmo had arrived (12 pages) -- no CT scans or MRIs (were supposed to be sent on a CD) and not pathology samples.
But then she checked my patient file and said "oh, the CD of scans had been uploaded on Dec. 29." Apparently nobody told the doctor and he hadn't checked. So, that's good -- now he will have a week to review them before the appointment.
But, still no path samples (lung biopsy from 1999). After leaving both phone and email messages for the lung doctor's nurse I got impatient and called pathology directly. Very nice lady said she'd never had any requests for any of my records and things from 1999 are in the warehouse but she could send for them and then overnight them. Faxed me the request -- which I filled out but am still nervous because I don't have any billing or account numbers to fill in.
Pulmo nurse is supposed to call me in the morning (she left early because of the weather --- which is supposed to be more snow tonight and ice due to melting and re-freezing.) I just want HER to call pathology. Sadly, even if they find it an overnight it then it goes to a pathologist in Houston who has to review it and send his views to the doc with whom I have the appt. So I talked to HIS nurse and asked her to watch for it and put a rush on it.
Mostly, I'm mad at myself for not following up after Christmas or at least last week. REally, predictable.
Well, maybe the records will still get there in time and after all -- if necessary he can look at them even after my appointment. Still.....

Would the doctor's office be willing to give you copies that you could bring down with you? Or is that not really possible / desirable? Best of luck on the doctor visit, by the by!

Dude, I think I was very clear when I stated that *I* was going to win the house in Vermont. Do I have to report you to a TP? And speaking of TPs, where has Rachael been of late? I suspect she's chasing a very inquisitive and mobile rugrat over hill and dale. ;D I think you're very likely right.

Yeah, I offered to hand carry them. But it's a slide of a lung biopsy and she said overnighting would get them there just as quickly. The hang up may be getting them from the warehouse and then getting them read at the other end. Which is why the original request was made on Dec. 9!!! Except, you know, she said/she said. One nurse tells me the request was made, the other says she didn't get it. I'd complain to the doctor but all messages go VIA the nurse.
