As soon as Lola wins that ski shack, it'll be a S'cubie haven! My sis and I are trying to win a "kitchen makeover" for our other sis. Having helped her with hosting Christmas at her house, we are well aware of her need for such a makeover. Anyhow, JIF is hosting a " use JIF in your recipe" contest, deadline January 17. So I have entered. You are allowed to enter twice - once in the sweet category, and once in the savory. I did both, though I like my sweet recipe a lot better. My savory one . . . I feel kinda guilty when I think that one of the recipe testers might actually have to try it and eat it. I made it today and ate it for lunch and haven't been hungry since. I've also been slightly nauseated ever since. These are probably signs that it will not win. But you never know what people will like, right??? I would tell you my recipes, but then I'd have to blow up the board. ... this lead to me googling 'Jif', because for years in the UK and still in quite a lot of the world it was a sort of scratchy bleach stuff for cleaning the sink. Recipes made with scratchy bleach stuff would not really work out... That silly language barrier!

Thundersnow. Don't think I've ever experienced that myself. Huntsville is expected to get 10-12 inches? I wonder why the weather report is still saying only an 1 inch here.

Where you are is saying Huntsville is only supposed to get an inch? Well, they were wrong because we've got 9 inches at my house this morning, and may still get another inch or two. I may get out there and take pics for further proof later.

I thought Liz meant that there was only going to be an inch where she is, so she was surprised to hear it was that much different in Huntsville. But I see where it could be read both ways. Can Oliver see over top of the snow? Also: MONNIE!! . Stop in more often, Monnie-bonnie.

I don't get weather reports.

Actually, the weather channel didn't predict this much for us, but one of our local stations did.

I was just telling Erin last night that I've been so busy that I don't have much time for social networking, other than twitter. And the only reason I have time for that is because it's just so easy and quick to network there.

I don't get weather reports. Liz-- It is actually fairly common that big snows go north of TN (obviously, Ohio Valley, etc) but also that really big snows go SOUTH of TN when we get a big gust of Canadian cold air swooping down AND a front full of Gulf moisture coming up. For some reason they rarely seem to meet in middle or northern TN -- more often going south of us. Which is the current situation. In fact, our local forecasters use I-40 as the "geographic" dividing line. We have maybe 2+ inches where I am, right on I-40 but even 30 miles south of me they have 3-4 inches and by the AL border it's 7-8 with spots of 11 inches. If you turn north from me by the time you get to the north edge of Nashville it's like half an inch. Which is why sometimes you can be looking at a nearly dry road and still have the kids home from school. And since this isn't going to melt I'll bet Metro is out most of the week. Monnie --- yay for deep snow and NOT ice! Ice is the worst.

Wow! The world is going all topsy turvy! Isn't Thundersnow the coolest? We had some on Christmas Eve. Love the snow pics. Our snow melted during a couple day thaw a few weeks ago, but they are predicting some for us tonight and tomorrow. Also - your puppy is the cutest!!

And speaking of TPs, where has Rachael been of late?
