SilverCrow is having a Shrine Challenge, and since I've made a couple using their nichos, I decided to enter one of them: Arachne's NichoI should take a photo of the wall above the computer - family photos, two nichos, a shadowbox... fun stuff. Neat! Nicely done, BH!

Odd, though, they seem to be blocking my 100 calls per day trying to confirm my winnings. No, I'm not channeling Charlie Sheen, just to allay any fears.

Ah, spring in TN.
Bradford pears are trying to bloom, but today is 39 degrees and damp and raw and overcast.
So, of course, I spent the day driving about an hour west and touring a Nazarene church camp (looking for possible new locations for our women's retreat. We currently go to a very pretty place that used to be an Episcopal nunnery but we are outgrowing them --- 93 are registered for this year!)
It's not as scenic but it is closer, each room has its own bathroom (a big plus for many women) and it offers a climbing wall and zip-line which would probably appeal to some of the younger women.
Then I stopped in a the state's largest state park at their Inn -- gorgeous and breath-taking views but too expensive for us because all rooms are one double bed so essentially all are singles which drives the price way up.
I took the interstate down but came home via back roads.

Somebody caught my whole encounter. Look for me at about 7:50: I was terrified when I heard this was up. While I'm joking on the outside, inside I was in such terrible emotional pain that I was afraid I'd break down in front of the entire theater. Alex Skarsgard looked into my eyes with such kindness and such compassion it was hard to hold it together. If you want to know, the kiss was warm, soft, slightly scratchy and very, very gentle. What you can't see (for which I am so grateful) is that even while I made my "Now I do" joke, my eyes were filling with tears. By the time I groped my way back to my seat I lost it completely and cried for pretty much the remainder of the presentation. The thought of this whole thing on video and going viral left me in a state of panic. It was a great relief to find out that I hadn't made a complete fool of myself. You both handled that quite well. And you hair (as always) is gorgeous! Thank you. It IS important to have good hair when one is having a meltdown. Makes up for the red, swollen eyes and sniffly nose.

Also, one or two members from SwedishDelishAlexanderSkarsgard (SDAS) may drop by and look around. We were discussing Joss directing the upcoming Avengers movie and a lot of Buffy/Angel/Firefly/Dollhouse!love emerged. I have mentioned S3 to them before and they're very impressed by the fact that we've been here so long.
One of the interested parties stated she loved Buffy/Angel and I didn't know whether to interpret that as loving both shows or if she is a Bangel, but SDAS is a board like ours. They welcome all points of view but don't put up with flamers or haters any more than we do. I told her all viewpoints were welcome here as long as good manners ruled.
I hope she stops by.

Things are progressing slowly: Heather was here today and I now have four nice flat trellises for fence amplification, and the bottom drawer in the kitchen is fixed.
Oh, and I contrived a shelf for Anna's bento boxes and the lids for plastic potluck bowls, so that's a bunch of clutter off the dish shelves, yay!
Julia, tomorrow I need to call about a bull...

So they painted over all the walls upstairs now. All of Vince's drawings are painted over.
Oh, oh, oh.
OK.
I had picked out linoleum for the new bathroom and colors for the bathroom and bedroom walls . . . and they have done that! It looks nice, it really does. And I'm that much closer to my certification and fostering, so that is all good.
When they are done, I am going to have some prints made of the larger and nicer drawings (I took a lot of pictures) and frame them and hang them back up where they were.
I am doing OK. Went to a cooking class with my friend Sherri this evening, and that was very fun.

That will get you some strange looks at the grocery store! ETA: Please post your number so I can text you. I want to make sure you get the full pleasure of hearing Castiel many, many, times a day. I liked this idea so well that I texted her, "Hey, Assbutt!" But then I heard back that she had been driving with the radio turned up loud, so my attempt to have her hear, then see the same greeting did not work. Ugh. She's no fun! No fun at all!!
