Franklin's six-month post surgery checkup today, which means a trip to Seattle. First time I've been north of Renton since September (haven't been to Portland since 11/11/09) and I'm getting antsy.
Julia, and somewhat trepidacious because he hasn't driven that far sincehis surgery, either.

Pity. TWC says is it snowing in MO! Well, since I don't have kids who catch a bus and I don't have to drive to work I'm all for DST. I like that it is still lights out when Jim gets home from work. We're pretty far into central time zone so even with DST in July it still gets dark soon after 8 pm. So I like a bit more time in the afternoon/early evening with some light. Although, we did have to be at early church on Sunday and I had to be at VU especially early this morning for a blood draw so that was no fun at all after the time jump.

Well, Allison had her first casual interview today with her boss' boss. (Her immediate boss has left the organization, she has taken on about 1/3rd of his previous responsibilities and is applying for his PAID! job.) The guy she met with at Starbucks for about 90 minutes Her report: D---- was very complimentary of my work up to this point. he wants to keep talking about it and sit down with A---- (his boss) and talk with her about it at some point. there is a big event the weekend of april 9th and nothing will happen before then I'm sure. and the videos, etc I'm working on now leading up to that will probably be a good way for them to see more of my abilities.
just wanted to report that the meeting went well and that he didn't explain why I wasn't suited to the position but we mostly talked about what things I'm excited about doing and how those would fit into that role. biggest thing against me would be my lack of professional work experience in terms of years and managing large projects and other people, etc. but I don't want to be in a role I'm not qualified either and I trust them (and myself to show them my abilities) in determining that.So far so good and YIKES! Although, it is so sad to spend on that money on a college education and not know how to capitalize!

Missed that darn. I love Chopped, where *nobody* has any commitment to behaving well. Julia, somne of the chefs are entertainingly obnoxious; most of them are just obnoxious.

Chopped is about the only show I watch anymore with any regularity, and yes - loved last night's version, and loved that Anne won!!

I am still wrestling with "what to do with my options" decisions at work. Lots of crazy going on. I mean, I work at a state-funded institution in Ohio. We miss being Wisconsin by a hair. People are anxious.

Back to work, bleah! Work backlog, also bleah! Still, lots of people who don't know about my adventures.
Everyone's wondering if we'll all be working next week after the next continuing resolution expires. Me? I'll be on a plane to Florida.
Bi-coastal Diane. That's me.

Paul's leaving for Orlando this morning, returning Friday. It's going to be a long week. Diane, your icon and quote made me smile a little.

Interestingly, at Paleyfest they opened the TrueBlood panel with flashes of SMG as Buffy. Judging by the reaction, lots of Trubies are apparently also Buffyholics.
