back at you Today I meditated, and then I came home and fell asleep. My employee efficiently combined the two. But she didn't snore much, cause it woke her up.

I believe y'all are the "beneficiaries" of Jim's prolonged absence. My niece was here on Saturday and told her mom/my sister that I needed a dog to talk to because "Aunt Susie has a lot to say." Apparently I am beginning to exhibit "old person who lives alone" syndrome.

I'm up to my birthday presents and, as tempted as I am to repost them all I'll just thank Spring, Sara and Lola for the lovely hunk-pics.

When I re-did my kitchen, I added a dishwasher - first time I'd ever had one. I got a Kenmore one, energy-star, extra-narrow/tiny. I like it a lot - never had a lick of trouble with it. Keep in mind, I only run it once a week, so it's not worked real hard, but I generally do like Kenmore appliances. My stove - I bought it about five years ago, one of those smooth top electric stoves - is a Kenmore, and it has been trouble free . . . hmmm. I only run mine about once a week, but once I start fostering, I'm guessing it will be every day. If you care, we own a Bosch. Very quiet, reliable and does a good job. But on the high side expense-wise. Bought it when 6 of us were living here with Dad and me having 3 meals a day. Was running the DW twice daily instead of the twice weekly we as now.

Not-hurting is of the good. If we did away with Monday, wouldn't that just push everything onto Tuesday and make it orders of magnitude worse? Oh, yeah, no doubt about it. I'm having some bad allergy stuff today, and giving thanks for Mucinex, no matter how bad it tastes. Watching someone die of asthma last night (on the new Upstairs/Downstairs) was Not Of the Good. Julia, stupid Mosley-ites and their stupid riots . Understand your opinion, but asthma treatment has come a long way since 1936. and she was very courageous to face down the Facists at the rally. I have many of the same sentiments since I come from a similar background. Kudoes to the British, most of whose population had little patience for that crap.

Incredibly craft Anne (wow! lovely, I must have missed that page maybe on one of my sick days)
Love Sara's zombie-coffee icon.

Erin, if you aren't watching H5O, you're missing some of the most blatant product placement ever, especially for Chevrolet, Longboard Brewery, Hilton Hawai'ian Village, and various Hawaii based bands. Julia, and local Honolulu bakeries, diners, and dives. This is getting more and more amazing. Bones is the show I notice it most with the cars but I've seen it with phones a lot too (Castle?). Oh, also on Bones and somewhere else is the new Windows software being hawked.

today, I did the laundry. ... when the heap gets as tall as I am, I realise it has been a teensy tiny bit too long... While typing I realised the problem: Monday is Laundry Day, but this semester Monday is instead Textual Transformations, and I have to wake up at 0600 to get to 0900 lessons, and there is no more room for laundry. This being the holiday it should not be the problem this week, but Monday was meditation day in Norwich, so I still managed to make it Not Laundry Day. Obviously the logical solution is to move laundry day, but my personal schedule inertia laughs at the merely logical... *reads self* er, today I did fascinating laundry? apparently.also, I ran the dishwasher. I am currently attempting to not run it all over again before I use things, for washing once is logically sufficient. ... I suspect I shall be running it again anyway. Oh look, midnight, sleep times now. Sounds like life. Which is good.

I have a little secret.
You all know about the emotional devastation I've endured following the loss of my husband Ian. It was a secret from nearly everyone else. You've seen how terrified I was to "out" myself and how it's helped me now that I finally did.
A couple of weeks ago I met someone. A nice someone. A someone who has endured the same things I have and who understands the occasional meltdown because he has them too. A someone who thinks he's found a miracle in ME. We are so perfectly matched in likes, dislikes, taste, outlook, recreational choices--even Buffy! So much so we're beginning to think our late spouses got together in the afterlife and decided to set us up.
We spent nearly the whole weekend together, most of Saturday and all day Sunday. I met his family. He met Beth (the only one there at the time). His family likes me. She liked him.
Anticipation, how I've missed you.

We don't like root canals. Erin is glad she doesn't have to have one from her cousin the dentist.
Nice horse pic, Sara!
Spring's Vince was an amazing and original person.
Video of a Polish gymnast.
Taxes. Ya DON'T gotta love 'em. But ya DO gotta pay 'em.
Anne bought new walking shoes.
Funny owl picture.
And THEN we come to Monnie's con reports. I think those deserve a response of their own.

That Friday night was the cocktail party for people with Angel Passes (like me). There was a cash bar and a good many of the actors came around to each table for a few minutes at a time to talk to us. Misha didn't show up because, as we later learned, he was trying to get the baby to go to sleep, unsuccessfully. And also Misha was sick for the weekend, so he was a bit more subdued than he usually is. After the cocktail party, Cat and I went to the hotel bar again and drank all of the wine AGAIN. Several of the actors came downstairs to hang out in the bar wiht fans, and that's where Cat and I had several conversations with actors and the 2 musicians who were there that are close friends with Jensen and we have NO IDEA what we talked about. I know we talked, and for quite a while, with Rob Benedict (who plays Chuck/God on the show), and also with Jason Manns, one of the musicians, but I have no clue what about. Which was kind of an ongoing theme for us that weekend. Saturday was a big day for panels. All the actors were feeling extra saucy and flirty and snarky with each other. Sebastian Roche, who plays the angel Balthazar, is INSANE. This was his first SPN con and I think he was having a blast with it. Hugging and kissing everyone, being very naughty. So he fit right in with everyone. I had bought 2 photo ops with Misha months ago, but couldn't remember why since I hate having my pic taken (other than the obvious reason on getting to spend a few seconds with him). So I had asked on twitter a couple weeks ago if I should do a funny op, and came up with trying to get him to do an op where he does as many of my/our kinks as we can get him to do in one op. So, I steeled myself and got up the nerve to ask him to pose wearing nerdy glasses while reading my kindle (with my Dean/Cas porn on it, no less) and with a pen in his mouth. I cannot believe I got up the nerve to ask this of him, but he was all sure, tell me what to do! I really do think it was fate for this pic to happen because he is wearing such a nerdy shirt and his hair is flattened down on his forehead like the adorable geek he is. ;D When he handed the pen back to me he said "Oh, now it has my spit on it" and I said "HEH, YES, I KNOW." I didn't mean to sound like such a creeper! All the panels over the whole weekend were wonderful. I see what everyone means now when they say the guys all seem so much happier and more relaxed at the Italian con. They really were. We ended up not going to the concert on Saturday night because Cat was so sick--she didn't even go to any of the panels all day Saturday, unfortunately. Sunday was more fabulous panels, as well as my second Misha photo op: I was in this pic--I'm off to the side pulling on the lemur's tail in horror--but I hate the way I look and didn't want my pic all over the internet. He was such a good sport for all of it. I also got a pic with both Jensen and Misha together, and one with just Jensen, but I didn't have them do anything crazy for those. When I got Misha's auto I thank him for doing the poses for me (he said "Anytime!") and asked him to please not have Lisa (the cofounder of RA) fire the crazy prop girl with no manners (I had forgotten to say please and thank you for the first op because it was so rushed) and he said "Of course not, I'd never do that." I think he thinks I'm a weirdo, but he's a weirdo too, so I don't feel too bad about it. ;D Every time I talked to Misha he winked at me. The boy knows how to give good wink. Then the Jensen and Misha panel happened. They've never done a panel just the two of them before, and my part of the fandom was eagerly anticipating it. And the boys did not let us down. So much love and respect between them, and I think Misha is in awe of Jensen, to be honest, and Jensen seems to adore Misha. And the big thing that happened was a fan asked them to act out the scene from When Harry Met Sally where Meg Ryan fakes an orgasm and they did it, with hilarious results. When they saw the papers and what scene it was, Misha instantly was like "I WANT TO BE SALLY!!!" LOLOLOL: I have never seen Jensen be this open and receptive to the fans as he was this weekend. He's usually so shy and guarded with them, so it was a really special weekend. So, that's all the really big stuff that happened. There were lots of smaller cool moments, but I'd be going on for days if I tried to tell them all. Needless to say, I think I'll be going back next year. How many years ago did you take your first airplane trip to Chicago? And now it's cons in ITALY for heaven's sake? YOU GO GIRL! Great reports. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. One of the absolute best outcomes of the internet: going a third of the way around the world and meeting up with friends you've made online.

Thanks for writing this up, posting pictures and videos and sharing this with us!! It sounds like it was the trip of a lifetime! I have always thought that I wouldn't want to interact with actors that I liked because then the "fantasy" would be ruined, but it sounds like this only enriched your opinion of Misha, etc.!

So much stuff happening around here. Vibes and prayers for Erin's grandfather and Diane's grandson. And Anne's mom who needs her own special kind of comforting. And good vibes to Spring as well for all that is going on in her life! And I know there is more, just haven't read back. Feel the best I've felt all week -- which may be partly pyschological because I'm done for at least 3 weeks! I still think I"m getting off (relatively) easy with the chemo but since 2 months in a row it's been tied in with other stuff (like a stupid 48 hour stomach virus and fever) it feels daunting. Windy. 2 HUGE trees down -- one in neighbor's yard to right of our house. Fortunately pointed straight down their yard so no house, cars, wires or even driveway or road involved. Then, about 10 minutes later I heard another cracking (which is scary when you don't know where it is coming from) and a HUGE tree came down in the front yard of the house up on the hill behind us. (We live on a corner so our closest neighbors are on one side and the behind us). This tree fell uphill -- along our back property line and almost directly toward his house -- fortunately the angle and distance cooperated so that is stopped just short of hitting his house. My niece is due in on a plane in 30 minutes ...... Glad you are feeling better. That sounds like windy PLUS. Hope your niece's flight wasn't too turbulent. Thanks for the good wishes. Guess what? I had my last interview for the fostering today! I should be certified by Monday! OMG. Now I've gone and done it. And then the adoption team has to interview me (just once) so I can get certified for that, too, in case I should get to a place where I want to adopt. Yo, boy. Neat!! Let us know how it goes! This is all so....so...HUGE!
