Some good things: I checked the library database just on the off chance, and all my holds were in except the one book that isn't even out yet. So I put a sticky note on the monitor and headed out. A few blocks from the library, I passed a familiar young woman (how did she get so tall?) heading west, so I hung a U-turn and went back and picked her up. Seems Katherine had decided to stop at the library on her bus trip home from Fullerton and walk the rest of the way. So she went back to the library with me, I got my holds and we came home. Then the mailman showed up with my missing/possibly misdelivered mailorder and my Amazon orders, so I can cross that worry off the list. Also, as of yesterday, my mom has taken my advice *faints* and asked to have her prescriptions mailed to her instead of scrabbling around trying to find someone to drive across town and pick them up. She also said that Caregiver B has someone lined up that she thinks Aged Mum will like, in case B needs a break. This because Caregiver Y and her daughter Caregiver S had to go back to Belize to deal with a family emergency, so they put their heads together and B said she'd stay with my mom day and night until they get back. I was glad to hear that, because I've been worrying that the system would break down and I'd be ordered up there to take care of her. Not that I don't love my mum, but I'm so far behind on things here... So things are looking a bit brighter, for the moment anyway.

By the way, the choice between standing up and leaning on (cold) steel corral panels and sitting on a mid-century modern aqua enamelled cast-iron bathtub (VERY COLD) is not my favorite way to spend an afternoon.
Julia, very cold all-around in the mud under the fir trees in the barnyard at my sister's house.

Well, I for one am glad that the snow we got today all melted later in the day. 'Cuz while intellectually I am cool and accepting that snow in April, even multiple inches, is not really all that unusual, and I do love winter ... still ...
I mean, it's been a loooooong winter this year! And very snowful!
So, yeah.
Glad that it melted. ;D
OK, enuf whining from me! What's the haps w/all of y'all?

Heee! ;D And, hey, Bob is a fine name! I mean, think of Bob Dobbs. And as for the granddaughter, all I offer are my "congratulations" and "hope all goes well", as I would for any other impending baby. Mom and dad sound happy, after all.

Thanks Sue, Julia. And here I was worrying that I talk too much... Diane, hugs and hopes that everything comes right in the end. Sue, I'm glad your wandering husband is home and safe. You must be very proud of your daughter. Emily is now looking at artificial intelligence design as a career, something I've always thought she'd be good at. Which means more and different classes, and longer in college. At my advice, she talked to her linguistics professor/informal advisor and got names of people to talk to in the computer department. She's also going to be her prof's TA next semester, and she's designing a class website for the prof. Which is all good experience, and she's loving it, but she'll be underfoot for at least another year. I love her, but... I finally got around to watching the second X-files movie, which I DVRed a while back off cable with commercials. Not much X-files, rather icky, but the Mulder/Scully was worth watching anyway. Next time it's just me, I'm watching something more fun, like the rest of Keen Eddie, or maybe Buckaroo Banzai. Oooooh, AI design sounds very very interesting! I look forward to reading about her adventures in that field!

There's nothing wrong with the name, it's simply rather ... short.

BTW, I have that Halloween tree! It's purple and glittery, right? That's the one. I'm thinking of putting leaf-shaped sequins on it, in my copious free time, or maybe some crystal bead dangles. The more shiny, the better, right?

Thanks, S'cubies, for all the congratulations. I'm still shocked that I won.
