Bah, animals. Blossom has died, poor mite; as far as I can figure out, Dearie stood on her and broke her pelvis. Otherwise: frelling snow here, of the sort that turns to lumpy ice if you look at it cross-eyed. Work to do (that I did not pursue with sufficient vigor yesterday, mostly due to getting up early and doing a bunch of last-minute online shopping). Julia, struck with a sudden need to check everything on gmail. I'm saddened to tell you all that Zak has passed away. Poor lamb had a serious episode last night and we let him go in peace and with dignity, though it damn near killed me. I haven't been around due to extreme craziness in RL, but I miss you all and wish everyone happy birthdays, happy holidays and love and light. Zak: So hard when we lose a pet. My love to you both. Sorry to hear about this, ladies. Onjel - good to hear from you, even if it is for a sad occasion.

Congrats to Becky's daughter! Great to hear from you, too. ANNE: Glad you got the kitty back. KAREN: Pretty new kitty! DIANE: Ring sound very pretty - congrats. My IM back up experiment was a total bust.

Thanks for the comfort and heartfelt wishes, everyone. It means the world to me. Now, can anyone do anything about my chest cold, fever and chills?

My IM back up experiment was a total bust. Better Half you lost your kitty? Even temporarily, that's scary stuff. Glad the woobie is back home. Congratulations, (Best wishes, to be correct about it, but hey, I'm wracked with fever, so. . ..) Diane! Cute kitty, Karen. I'm sure I missed stuff, but I can't catch up. I have to finish my work and go collapse at home. Bye!

all many things going not so good #grouphug# for everyone
my day gone pretty good. I like online shopping. I can spend a couple hours shopping with my mum without either of us leaving the house, or indeed meeting. And when she changes her mind a couple hours later it doesn't involve driving anywhere. And then it all gets delivered to her door tomorrow. And then there will be xmas food for everyone. If mum remembers to plug in the freezer. Otherwise there will be a lot of food going back to the shop. But that's okay too, since it will not be me going back and forth getting annoyed. ... delivery van people have a very useful job that I'm really glad I don't have to do.
Also: we have a new front door! At least I heard the noises all day, and my neighbours going out to check if that's actually finally the new front door, and then someone came around giving out new keys a few minutes ago, so I very highly probably have a new front door. The flats I live in have been without a working front door for quite a lot of months now, and it's not very nice. A new one will work much better.
Hope everyone has new nice delivering and fixed things kind of stuff happen too.

I've been lucky, I've only lost two chickens, now, of the however-many I've hatched and bought, but Blossom was such a cutie, and now Dearie is flipping out being alone. Julia, which reminds me, I need to go give her some light, oops.

Oh, online shopping is great stuff, once you overcome the delighted aquisitive urge to Buy All The Things; also I'd rather shop locally (although Amazon, like Starbucks, is local to me so money I spent there pays state sales tax and employs local people) so my special sales taxes go to the local public transportation people, for instance. Hooray for your new front door; I myself must have new toilets and new bath fixtures (not to mention extensive cleaning and redecorating) before the wedding happens next July but short a winning lotto ticket or a magic wand I'm not sure that will happen. Julia, which is part of why I'm bummed with life.

Julia, which is part of why I'm bummed with life. We pay state sales tax to Amazon too now, but I'm still shopping at Barnes & Noble when I can, because there's an actual store down the road from us and I'd like it to stay in business. Online shopping is both a very good and very bad thing - I can find things online that I can't find anywhere else, and I do get into buy all the things territory. Like, if I'm paying shipping anyway, I might as well see what else can I get while I'm shopping there. I have slayed the usefuls... I finished Aged Mum's fairy queen puta doll and cleaned up after, dropped the Elder Daughter at college so she can help grade exams, done the marketing, let cats out, let cats in, let cats out, broken up catfights... Is it bedtime yet?

I did a couple more gift crafties today - a pair of earrings for the Elder Daughter, silver charm that says "Once upon a midnight dreary" with small raven bead on one, silver raven-shaped charm that says "Nevermore" and a small black bead (so they're about the same length) on the other, and a Swarovski pentagram crystal pendant on some rainbow rattail for the Younger Daughter (she can either wear it or hang it in a window, I just wanted to make her something). Now I'm trying to remember where I put my creative ideas planner that has my "from the studio of" cards in it, so I can put the earrings on one before I wrap them. I can't find it in the piles of stuff in my wee little studio, but it isn't out here either... Also, working on a folding TV table in a small crowded room is not exactly an ideal studio space. At least I didn't get glue on anything that wasn't supposed to get glue on. The fairy queen's wings kind of shed glitter everywhere, but they would've anyway, I suppose. *hugs all S'cubies within reach, leaves decorated hand-woven basket (yes, I have woven baskets in my day ) of brackets on coffee table for anyS'cubie else who wanders in later*

I've been a bit lately, when I haven't been , so I know I've missed things. So I figured I'd offer a cause random present days make the world a more cheerful place. I finished a draft of my last college assignment today and feel the world is much more cheerful than it has been for some months lately. I still have my dissertation to do, but at least small achievement has happened. We have to do a presentation to the second years at the start of next semester, and at this point the only advice on dissertations I'll have to pass on is 'don't start new meds and lose a semester if you can help it'. Or restart old meds that I did tell my GP I gave up for Reasons. But he said, ten years, things will have changed! ... I have a Doctor Who convention to go to on Friday, and an appointment for a hair cut tomorrow that I had to use the phone to make But I will look good in the photos with David Tennant, which is clearly the important thing And I have to physically go in to college to pick up a form some time this week, and then remember to actually post it, because it is very late indeed already. In theory the things can be submitted online, but I don't see how, since the only way I know to get college to fill in their half is to hand it in at the front office and wait at least a week. But once I've done that the semester is Over. Which I greatly look forward to. Also Grandpa and my Aunt and my young cousin visited at the weekend and christmas cards were swapped. So it's starting to feel all seasonal. *distracted by fluffy shiny bits* ... my seasonally appropriate pyjamas keep falling apart. I keep buying them, because nice warm pyjamas sound like just the thing, but the last set came apart at the seams on first wearing and this set turn out to have a hole in the knee. Only a small one so it's ignorable, but still. Is frustrating. On the plus side, many clothes in the shops recently have shiny threads and sparkly bits running through. I approve. I have a purple and silver sparkly robe that's basically a big fuzzy blanket I can wear. I don't know, I feel like I blinked and a whole term went away. Hope y'all had better seasons. otherwise apply as needed. Hope you had a good time at the convention!
