Nathan - Black and blue wiht sheer black sleeves and side panels. i don't like zipper
Elena - the Pink and Black skit - very wearable and I love the
Melisa - black with scarf shawl - red touches and red hair. Dress is very nice. Scarf is distracting. too bad.
Gunnar - O h I like frilly black dress. She is selling it.
Alicia - light pink dress is very pretty and she wears it well. Very cute.
Christopher - love the wrap gray dress. Oh. I want to see the jacket! Too bad. I love jackets.
Ven - She looks good and Ven pulled it off. But he's still a douche.
Dmitry - the blue dress fits very well and I like the gathered shape of the bodice.
Fabio. Oh not a nice look. Color blocked gray and cotton shape. Looks a bit matronly.
Sonija - The blue dress is ok but nothing spectacular.

Runway! Nathan - Hmmmm. Well, it is what she wanted. And it fits her hella good! But it's a bit trashy looking. I'm thinking the judges will hate it. Elena - I like this! I know it's not at all what Elena wanted to do, not her style at all (and she may get dinged for that), but that top is totally adorable! And the skirt is very nice too. Melissa - Yeah, we can't really see the dress. Looks like it has a sort of interesting neckline/bodice, but .... otherwise basic and dull. Gunnar - I don't usually like lacey ruffles, but I kinda like the bottom of this dress. The top is cut/made poorly, though. Alicia - It's cute, it's pretty, it fits well. It's a bit ordinary. And, again, they may ding her for not putting enough of herself as a designer into it. But the client does totally love it. Christopher - Cute dress - although what is going on with the hem in back? And yeah, we can't see the jacket! Ven - Dull dull dullsville. And that top is a crime, the way it's made. I like the zipper on the skirt a bit, but that's it. Dmitry - I really like this. And it actually looks like a Dmitry style, just tweaked. Still has his subtle touches - like the tucking on the bodice and the slightly interesting shoulder. It does look modern and strong. Skirts too short, though. Fabio - I actually like this dress. (And you can tell she loved it too.) I'm thinking the judges will think it's too frumpy, but I really like the geometricness of it. I think the skirt needs to be either fuller or less full, and I don't like the placement of the red belt, but otherwise I think it's a good one. Sonjia -Way too short. I like the twisty front, but the rest of it needed a bit more structure. Posting before I hear what the judges say. Okay, regarding Ven. For starts, in case nobody remembers--I am a plus-size woman. How dare that fat, bald, arrogant little man tell her that his dress was "slimming" and that none of the accessories were available for a "woman of her size". If I were treated the way he treated her during the fitting I would have torn off the dress right there in the work room, told him to f*ck himself and marched out of the room and left him to be disqualified. I would then--still in my underwear--have found Tim Gunn or Heidi and given them chapter and verse about how badly I was treated. I hope they send that self-important sh*t home.

Shouldn't the pants suit be purple, then? Julia, it would be all poetic-like Heee! It could be purple and then I'd carry a walking stick and totally strut my stuff. OK Lola . . . I think you would look GREAT in this!! I have added a scarf, and a touch of purple . . .

I was glad her friend was there to give her some support and speak up.

Judging! Dmitry - Bright, but cool, see her confidence, sexy but not slutty, edgy and cool, the color is very good on her, styled well, fabric choice is good, comfortable, modern. Fabio - Nina loves it! The asymmetry, the dress, the flats, the edge, looks like an artist, beautiful shades of gray, feminine, comfortable, don't like the belt, transformation but still her. Gunnar - Has movement, flirty but not childish, brought her lively personality out, transformed and confident. Sonjia - The knot was not a bad idea, but not done as well as it could have been, too short, proportions are off, twist should have been lower, too much fabric for someone that is shorter. Ven - Not real, doesn't look like her, chops her in half, don't like the shiny fabric, they skirt is nice and the top is not. (I love love love how the judges tore apart the outfit while building up the model!! Excellent job, judges, excellent!!) Nathan - Trashy, hootchie momma, they don't like the fabric, costume-y, don't like the satin, the braiding on the bodice is prom-y, cheesy. (Again, the judges did a pretty good job ripping the dress/designer while praising the woman. Except, of course, she really did want a sexy hootchie momma kind of thing.) So - who's the winner and who is auf'd? Fabio wins!! Oh, that makes me happy - that was such an unusual dress and so so perfect for her. She really loved it, too! Now, will they bounce the awful awful Ven or the sad-sack Nathan? Nathan is bounced. Bummer! And then they say Sonjia is in - not surprising. They keep Ven - and did not rip him the new one that they should have. They sort of chide him, but not enough. I love Tim's good bye to Nathan - praising his integrity.

Seriously? They kept Ven? Blech. Absolutely. What a maroon. Julia, if lack of self-awareness was toxic, we never would have met him?

Roxanne was doing well enough to go to school today. She officially does not have a broken bone, so that was a relief. I got another call from the school today, because I had not completed the new form that allows her to take some ibuprofen for her pain. So in the first week, I've had THREE calls from Roxanne's elementary school and been over there three times (acting out due to crazy going on in her life on Tues; hurt foot and ankle on Thurs; fill out different form for ibuprofen today). I told them in the office today that I couldn't get enough of them, and asked if I could come every day. They said sure. Anyhow, her foot in feeling better, though of course her underarms and arms and good foot are now sore from the strain of using crutches.

I'm glad you can be there for her.

Thanks you for all the birthday wishes
I did dancing lesson and then went and had vegan pizza and then ate the cake mum bought me and it turned out to be edible, so that was nice.

Fun report has to end in unspeakable tragedy.
Received word tonight that Bob's baby grandson Robbie was found dead in his crib this afternoon. No details available. I can't think that any would be needed.
Thanks to my daughter's frequent flyer miles we are heading home first thing in the morning. Dropping off car in Atlanta at noon. Flying out for Houston around 5.
Beth's picking us up at the airport.
No words...
Vibes desperately needed for a broken and grieving family.
