I am here, LJ, Dreamwidth, and lately tumblr. I don't really get tumblr though. It's just pretty pictures. Conversation does not seem to happen. actually given how everyone seems to have wandered off, conversation does not seem to happen on LJ or DW either. I'm technically on Facebook, but that's where my relatives know I'm on the internet, and also it doesn't load without turning off all my security settings, so I don't even read FB let alone use it. I hope the website revives. It's on the wayback machine if it don't web.archive.org/web/20140106133210/http://soulfulspike.com/I'm also on LJ and Dreamwidth. I've considered signing up for either Facebook or Twitter, but they both seem to have major nasty security issues, so I haven't been able to bring myself to do it. Hey, we're not dead yet. We might not be what we were--but we're all close friends. I run into many on Facebook. I don't tweet but I am a member of Twitter to follow some things only available there, but for anything Jossable I come here. I wish I could say I've been busy, but a kind of inertia has taken me over and I'm not doing ANYTHING. Not sewing, not writing, not drawing, not even reading. I'm a lump. I'm hoping my upcoming cruise snaps me out of it.

Okay. During the latest bout of snow (which Spring should be knee deep in, right about now) here is how it looked outside my window yesterday: * * Scary Google added the snow animation on its own.

I'm experimenting with my new toy today. The keyboard is tricky, I think I will need a stylus and maybe a real keyboard later, but here I am anyway.

Philip Seymour Hoffman has died.
I'm bummed, seriously bummed. Why is it always the talented ones?

Other social media seems to have taken over - it used to be the S3 was the only way of sharing and keeping in touch, but now people are using Facebook and Twitter and such.
I am worried about our site, too. We've heard nothing and I'm not sure where I have all those review files . . . ugh.
Hope you're doing well, be. Are you on FB or Twitter? Or just here and LJ?
I've messaged Vlad, but no response from him. I'm guessing work is kicking his ass. *sigh* I'm sure he is very busy. If I get a chance, I'll dig up my files and come up with an alternate place for my reviews. I've been too busy to work on anything in regard to this, also, so I know how it is.
I wonder if he'd be willing to let one of us make a few calls for him? Though we'd probably need his credit card number or some such thing.

FB can have security issues, but you can make it so that you are very well "blocked" or hidden from everyone except those you want to have access.
I'm on Twitter but don't use it much, and don't know much about security on it. I don't put much on it.

Okay. During the latest bout of snow (which Spring should be knee deep in, right about now) here is how it looked outside my window yesterday: * * Scary Google added the snow animation on its own. Here in SE Ohio, we just started to get the snow late in the day. We aren't expected to get more than an inch or so.
And yes - scary and weird that google added the snow animation!!

The cold, the wet and the creeping damp are back. I got a big dose of it today while we were out. One bout of bronchitis per winter is enough. Chilled to the bone when I got in, I jumped straight into the shower. Even washed my hair and flat ironed it dry. All bundled up on fleecies now.
Cruise can't come soon enough.

OK, well they just updated that to 5 inches . . . OMG. No school again, I'm guessing.
We had 11 snow days in January! 11 out of 20 days they were at home when they'd normally be at school. 4 out of 5 last week.
My nerves are surviving better than my food bill.
Please Spring, come!! (REMINDER: It is not Wednesday.)

Philip Seymour Hoffman has died. I'm bummed, seriously bummed. Why is it always the talented ones? Very talented actor. Very sad episode. It is heartbreaking to think that he succumbed to the dragon. Heroin is one of the hardest, if not the hardest, drugs to shake, and if the reports are accurate, Hoffman had been clean for some years before his last hit. That's how it seems to go, however. Stay clean and when you fall off the wagon you overuse and die. What a waste. He will be missed.

If you are on twitter the latest Veronica Mars info might interest you: Copying an email Kickstarter update from Rob Thomas: Project Update #67: Starting tonight: "live" online episode viewing + Q&A with our cast & team. Posted by Rob Thomas ♥ Like Gang, There's a lot left to do this week, so I'll get right to the point. We've now got less than 40 days left until Veronica Mars hits theaters, and our cast and crew couldn't be more excited. With the MTV Movie Brawl behind us, we wanted to give you something else to look forward to, and we think we've found a good solution. A few updates back, I mentioned that the team at @neptunerising have put together a schedule to re-watch the entire series before the film is released, and have been encouraging fans to join them in "live-tweeting" and discussing one episode each night at 8pm EST / 5pm PST. Well, once that happened, I started getting messages from our team, asking if it would be OK to join in. And I thought that sounded like a great idea, so... Starting tonight, some of the Veronica Mars cast and team will join fans to live-tweet selected episodes, and stick around afterwards for a little bit of Q&A. Last-minute changes are always possible, but as of now, here's the current schedule: This week: Feb 3: PERCY DAGGS (@pdaggsiii), for Episode 2x12, Rashard & Wallace Go To White Castle. Feb 4: AMANDA NORET (@amanda_noret), for Episode 2x13, Ain't No Magic Mountain High Enough. Feb 7: DARAN NORRIS (@golfstoomuch), for Episode 2x16, The Rapes of Graff. After that: Feb 17: RYAN HANSEN (@hiryanhansen), for Episode 3x4, Charlie Don't Surf. Feb 21: DIANE RUGGIERO (@rugz19), for Episode 3x8, Lord of the Pis. Feb 26: JASON DOHRING (@jason_dohring), for Episode 3x13, Postgame Mortem. Feb 27: BRANDON HILLOCK (@fanboybrandon), for Episode 3x14, Mars, Bars. Mar 2: DAN ETHERIDGE (@danetheridge), for Episode 3x17 Debasement Tapes. Mar 4: FRANCIS CAPRA (@franciscapra), for Episode 3x19, Weevils Wobble But They Don't Go Down. Mar 5: JOSH KRAMON (@joshkramonmusic), for Episode 3x20, The Bitch Is Back. Want to join in? Make sure you've got the day's episode cued up and ready to watch (e.g. on DVD, Amazon, iTunes, wherever). Be sure you're following @veronicamars, @neptunerising and the special guest on Twitter. Open your web browser to bit.ly/VM-Rewatch, or use your Twitter app to search for #VeronicaMarsRewatch. Just after 8pm EST / 5pm PST, @neptunerising will send a tweet telling you to start the episode. As you watch, join in the conversation by adding #VeronicaMarsRewatch to all of your tweets, so everyone else will see them. If you've got a question, ask anytime during the day of the rewatch, and include @veronicamars and #AskVM. More news later this week. Rob

My mother called this afternoon. I told croaked at her I couldn't talk much, or well, or loudly.
She insisted on talking to me, and expecting me to answer her back, at length. I politely cut her off.
I think maybe I'll let Emily answer the phone for a while longer. It actually hurts to talk loudly enough for my mother to hear me. It'd be one thing if she wanted to talk to me, and all I had to do was listen and croak affirmatively at intervals, but she expects me to entertain her. Not on.
*sigh* I'm a Bad Daughter, and I Don't Care. *raspberries*
