The home front:
The picnic table - I'm thinking of grilling hot dogs . . .
The bird house, the decorative butterflies, the tomato stakes I still haven't taken down, the shed, and the old TV turned into a planter (thank you, Vincent).

OMG, ANOTHER snow day tomorrow.
The kids have barely been to school this month. Because we live in a very hilly, rural area, school closings happen at the drop of the first snowflake - the school buses just can't make it to half the kids. We live right in town and my kids could easily go to school, but it is not ALL ABOUT ME (why??).
Temps below zero tonight, more snow on the way . . . and LOTS of togetherness with the girls . . .

Very well written and informative! I have not seen the movie, but that did not detract from the readability and clarity of the article itself. You do good work, m'dear.

Dear God, it is COLD here!!!
We are having one rough winter.
Downstairs toilet froze (i.e., once you flushed it, water would not re-enter the tank), but I finally got that going again. Last week, the cold water in the kitchen sink froze.
Rock salt and space heaters have become very hard to find. Kroger's didn't get their shipment of frozen vegetables because of weather delays, but they did have amazing fresh fruit - lovely cherries and strawberries, and it's below zero outside. So I can't complain.
The girls have had endless "snow days," so many that they going to have to do make-up days at the end of the school year.
And they are eating me out of house and home. They usually eat both breakfast and lunch and school . . . having them home all day, day after day, I am really learning how much they can put away!
Expecting more sub-zero temps next week.
Onjel and Lola must be popsicles by now.
BRRRRRRR!
Yep. It's cold. My feet are freezing and I'm in my office. I think my car is the warmest place I know. I have to keep my house cold because I can't afford to pay $200+ heating bills each month. Plus, I have been driving all around creation to work at various things, in the snow, in the dark and in the cold. And? It never seems to stop snowing! Today, however, it is sunny if frigid. I can handle cold (to an extent) if the sun is shining. Maybe one day, it will warm up. Right? Right?

The pictures are very evocative. We just keep getting snow. I should take pictures but I just want it to go away.

it stays quiet for long times around here lately hopefully you are all doing interesting things Other social media seems to have taken over - it used to be the S3 was the only way of sharing and keeping in touch, but now people are using Facebook and Twitter and such.
I am worried about our site, too. We've heard nothing and I'm not sure where I have all those review files . . . ugh.
Hope you're doing well, be. Are you on FB or Twitter? Or just here and LJ?

I've messaged Vlad, but no response from him. I'm guessing work is kicking his ass. *sigh*

Eeep. I bought a Google Nexus 7 tablet this morning. The girls helped me get it hooked up to the interwebs, I downloaded the Kindle app and a couple of Mira Grant stories I'd bought previously, and I just bought a complete Emily Dickinson for .99. Wheee!

I am here, LJ, Dreamwidth, and lately tumblr. I don't really get tumblr though. It's just pretty pictures. Conversation does not seem to happen. actually given how everyone seems to have wandered off, conversation does not seem to happen on LJ or DW either. I'm technically on Facebook, but that's where my relatives know I'm on the internet, and also it doesn't load without turning off all my security settings, so I don't even read FB let alone use it. I hope the website revives. It's on the wayback machine if it don't web.archive.org/web/20140106133210/http://soulfulspike.com/
