Because this was the first time they knew he'd be in a particular place at a particular time, thanks to Isaac's paintings; otherwise, as we've already seen he's able to flit in and out of places within a matter of moments. Unless they staked out every single "special" person they knew of, they really had no hope of ever catching him in the act before now. Oh, and speaking of Isaac--Greg suggested as we chatted that the figure in Isaac's latest painting might be our nuclear man Ted. Given the flames surrounding the person Isaac drew, I'd say that's a pretty good call on Greg's part. *nods* Also, even though we know Ted was a supposedly respected medical equipment salesman in his pre-special life, they've turned him into not only Mr. Angry Psycho Bad-Tempered Guy but they've also made him look like he lives under a bridge, so I'm not giving good odds on his chances of survival. Yeah, the crazy hair and eyes thing is always a tip off. ;D

Oh - Mohinder's dad has seen the boy, too! This was not for you to read. "Help you locate these people." His dad was trying to protect him. That was his answer. But he doesn't want to be protected. Yup! And I think he had to realize that was what his dad was doing in order to move forward. A very exciting find for Mohinder! But, whoa, also a dangerous thing to exist . . . ;D Really! What else are visions of the future for, if you don't use them to try and prevent the badness!

And now Peter's going to try and save the wrong one. Perfect. Of course, if Peter's making that mistake then there's every chance Sylar will as well... i don't know. peter seems to be going on the press about the fire (jackie is the one who claimed credit for claire's act). we don't know how sylar finds people, do we? When Claire was confronting Jackie I was soooo scared that Sylar was listening in! Of course, he still ened up finding out about Claire by seeing her heal, but the confusion did save her by diverting the first attack. Poor Jackie. Excellent question about Sylar. How is he finding people? Is that part of his power? Or does he have a copy of the list that Mohinder found?

As Karen just pointed out, they're gonna think Peter killed Jackie. Yup. Peter is in some serious trouble, unless Claire comes forward.

AWESOME! He was around her enough! But Sylar's gone. Damn. Well, help him straighten his bones out, if nothing else... How the hell is she supposed to know if she's the one? Time to come clean with your daughter.. SHIT, is Daddy Bennett gonna have the cops blame Peter? Eden. and Sylar. And Eraserhead. SHIT. Peter's gonna get framed for it.. Well, at least there's none of Jackie's ponderously spurting blood on him. If they have any forensics teams... Oh, I hadn't thought of that!! Here's hoping they check this out. Maybe even if they ordinarily wouldn't, his brother will make sure that every step is taken - like checking the blood on his clothes. But, it is gonna make them wonder why so much of his own blood was around when he is that badly hurt (any more). Am I reading the "scenes from next week" right? Are we gonna get backstory on a whole bunch of them? Maybe because we go back 6 months with Hiro and then also see what a bunch of the others were doing 6 month past as well?

Okay, I just realized something: even if Peter does get hurt, if he's been spending time around Claire he might be okay. So the picture could be accurate, and yet not be the whole story. yeah, i thought the same thing! hopefully it's peter and this is the story. still worried it might be zach though I always thought Peter would use Claire's powers to heal himself. Especially when everybody and his brother started telling him he was going to ......DIE!!!!

Oh, and I loved Eden stopping Sylar. It just made me happy. Totally kick ass! Just lounging against the tree and then quietly - "you don't want to hurt me . . . . go to sleep". #clap#

All that and he's smart, too. Very smart. Sigh. My ideal man and he doesn't even know it.
I don't suppose there's any chance they'll get Mohinder to go shirtless.
Yes, a nice low voice too; with nice elocution. I love a good voice in a man. And those piercing eyes.
GAIL
You don't need to see him shirtless if you've seen him in white. And you can thank Sara for pointing THAT one out. #smirk# #liplick# #smirk#

Oh, and I loved Eden stopping Sylar. It just made me happy. That was a magnificent scene. Simply magnificent. The lighting, Eden dressed in black, Sylar stepping forward and then the pusher lines. (I can't stop going to a Stephen King Firestarter place with this. The little girls dad was a pusher - I love this!) Plus did Isaac paint someone in flames? What was that painting.

So totally loved the freak vote. Having her win the "unpopularity contest". Embrace your inner freak, Claire! Yeaaaah. I believe that. Actually, he might even really believe that Peter is who he's protecting. But it's Nathan that Nathan is protecting, really. Very scary final shot of the ep, wasn't it? Like I said, I only saw the 2nd half of the episode, so unless I've missed something...I'm not particularly fond of Nathan so far, but I have this feeling that he's just acting like an asshat because he's in such deep, DEEP denial about himself...and his brother. He keeps having things pull him in one direction or another - like his brother's crazy idealism or his wife's frakked up "don't tell me you've cheated on me or I might never walk again" manipulation tactics, not to mention his mother's arch-manipulation abilities with the hollandaise press-bruncheon. Deep denial! I definitely think he thinks that he's protecting Nathan or partly protecting Nathan. But really he's protecting himself. And not just from a "I can't have this stuff happening when I'm running for office" kind of protection. Protect himself from thinking about this weird stuff that is happening to him. Nicely put!! Nathan is . . . pushing the specialness away from him, flying away from dealing with it, as it were. And Peter is embracing it, reaching out and grabbing it - like his power reaches out to other people's powers.

It was very moving when Micah was talking to his dad and saying that mom was sick and they needed to help her. It's rather sad to think of what he's potentially experienced these last few months, with Jessica periodically stepping into his mom. Yeah, like in the previous episode where he special-called home from the broken pay phone and knew right away that the woman he was talking to was NOT his mom. **nods** I still get a little shiver, remembering that scene!

Very intriguing, wasn't it? Yep. First time we've seen Niki on that side, isn't it? Yeah: from the previews for next week, it looks as if Niki and Jessica are gonna be... sort of a case of Sybil-type MPD. If one of Sybil's personalties were She-Hulk, only not green. And could be seen in mirrors. And the metaphor just breaks down into little pieces the moment I try to use it, doesn't it? Anyways, fascinating that Micah has seen her and knows her for what she is. Makes me wonder, though, if Jessica is a dissociated portion of the whole of Niki's personality, does Niki have the strength to toss people through doors, herself? Is this something that could be practiced by her as well, she's just unaware of it, because Jessica protects her from her own freak-ness as much as she protects Niki from the unpleasantness of the rest of the world? Ooooh, that is a very cool possibility!! Maybe her power isn't the mirror image at all? Maybe just . . . super strength or something. And the alternate personality thing is just disguising this?!

NICELY summed-up! Especialy with the red. I don't dislike Nathan, though I can't say I particularly like him, much, either. Thanks. The original concept I won't take credit for, though. I've been thinking of Zelig since meeting Peter, which was a direct-line 'uh-huh" regarding special powers. Tonight, I thought a little bit more about it when I compared Nathan's personality/powers to his brother's and got a big flip-side vibe off the two of them. Especially with Peter's conversation with Ando and how much I disagreed with Ando's assertion that they were "nothing" and should just sit there and wait for the Hiro/heroes to get back. Tsk. BAD sidekick. No biscuit. ;D And you're very right. Neither one of these guys is "nothing" - not by a long shot!

I was wondering that too. Was it because he didn't want to tell her he knew about her? Not tell her what he's been up to? Because he wants them to stay just "father and daughter" for a while? Maybe he was hoping she'd come to him with the truth? And now that she is going to tell him, do we think he'll also confide in her completely? Clever you! I only thought of that when we saw Peter looking at the picture of the other cheerleader. I suddenly was all "ooh, what if Sylar also picks the wrong girl? That might help Claire escape!". Which is rather callous toward the cruel girl. I mean, yes she was a bitca, but she didn't really deserve to get her head sliced open. GAIL
You ask a good question. I am now wondering if he's another one that was nabbed and then released by Cheer!daddy's group.
No, poor Jackie didn't deserve death - perhaps it was a cautionary note about her ethics, she stole what was due to Claire, and reaped the shadow side of a hero's glory - the vulnerability to twistos/psychos/stalkers.
And hey, kudos to quiet, mild-mannered Peter - he's saved the cheerleader, and with her, hopefully the world.
If I'd been ClairesDad, she'd been on a plane to the other side of the country, in disguise, with Eden and Psychic Damper Dude guarding her 24/7 as soon as I saw those pictures - not grounded in her room with unlocked windows. Had ClairesDad known of her abilities?
Also, if ClairesDad and PomLady couldn't have kids, where did the little brother come from? Another 'special' adoption?
GAIL
Good analogy - Jackie stole Claire's life, the good and the bad. And now you're really making me wonder if Claire's brother also has something "special" about him . . .
