I just finished the most wonderful story. This is the first I've read by this author. I found the story on www.allaboutspike.com. I did a search on authors and started at "A" and read each description. Anyway, the author of this story is Jericho TGF and the story is called When Eternity Lies in the Balance.quote] Betsy, Betsy, Betsy, Go back to page one of fanfics and look up my first post on that page. Not only that, but I recommended this fic even further back when we were on ScoopMe so it is posted on under "Fanfic" recs on the SSS Website. Not that it doesn't bear re-recommending. It's one of my all time favorites. Now go look up my post and read the other stuff I recommended. Sue

Sue Ha, ha, ha Sue . . . it's funny I remember reading that post a while back but didn't reference it when I was a hunting for some new fan fic. Just finished another one I found at www.the-crypt.net. It's called "The Witch, The Warrior, and The Vampire and it's written by Brandi. It's a work in progress and is up to Chapter 23. I quite enjoyed it, but if you prefer stories that pretty much stick to canon, then this one is way off. There is also sex (M/F and M/M), but it doesn't dominate the story. It's woven in well. The story picks up a few months after BUffy is resurected and inclues Connor, Angel, Cordy, Wes, Gun and Fred along with the Scooby Gang. A lot of the fiction I read is AU as I like things different from what I've seen on TV for both stories. The author had some interesting say about vamps and their souls. Has anyone else read this and I'd be interested in your take on it. I've emailed the author to ask when more chapters will be out.

I have actually considered recommending it here so I glad you mentioned it. I didn't know how some people would take some of the subject matter. What I like about it is that everyone has a big part in what is coming. The author does a great job of involving everyone. I have to say I find Xander's story the most interesting. Some people probably won't like it though. What have you thought about it? I read it off of Brandi's own site and she hasn't updated since Nov. 02. When you get a reply, please let me know what she says.

I also like what's going on with Angel and how he used the spell to cement his soul and Angelus is fighting it now. I need to get some big binders to hold all my fav stories that I print off. Have you read Jericho's other story -- Haunt of the House? Good so far. I just love reading fan fic and am seriously addicted. I especially love the ones that go off canon and expand the characters, but only use a small basis of what happened in one of the episodes.

Brad has brought home several binders for me and encourages me to print the stories off, otherwise I am on the computer all day long. I have become intimate with my paper punch. This board is a serious addiction now also. I like the AU stories and I have also started reading the Fantasy stories. Some of them are pretty good, but some are really not. I think its funny that stories that have no vampires or slayers or witches are considered "Fantasy". I haven't read Haunt of the House yet but I'll look for it.

I made mention of this piece of fan fic, which can be found at www.the-crypt.net. It's a WIP and up to Chapter 23. I emailed the author, Brandi, and told her how much I liked the story and asked about additional chapters. She'll be updated it in August and has added me to her update list. I can post when it's updated if anyone is interested -- Karalee?

Please do. I check the crypt every couple of days but let me know when she does. I have been waiting a long time to see what happens. Thanks so much. In her email she said that she won't start writing new chapters til August, so we have a few weeks. That is one thing I hate about reading works in process. I mainly look for completed works and just check up on notes I make for WIP's I'm interested in. I find that when reading WIP's, I usually need to go back and skim the previous chapter to remember it, since I read so much fan fic, it can run together and get confusing. I'm also gonna contact Jericho TGF and see when new chapters for The Haunt of the House is coming out. I'm dying to see how that one ends.

I found it on www.the-crypt.net. It's called Normal Again. Here's a description of the story by the author -- Richard Bachman Instead of Buffy, Spike gets a dose of demonic goodness inserted into his system. As his consciousness is transported to an AU where he finds Sunnydale is no longer the good old Sunnyhell he despises and knows so well, things are getting a bit surreal for the poor bleached wonder. It's a WIP, with a note new chapters to be added June 2002, I think he's late. Gonna shoot him off an email when I get home and asked if it's been updated. Was quite interesting read . . . Buffy is his Psychologist, Liam is his older brother, and Giles is a doctor in the mental institution. He just started group therapy.

Annie Sewell-Jennings has a new fanfic in progress (15 chapters) at: anniesj.net/fanfic/nineteen/index.htmSpike returns alive and human almost immediately after dying. The gang all goes to a hotel. 15 chapters of Buffy and Spike loving one another (it's not ALL sex, but yeah, very steamy) in a hotel room over 24 hours. She's (Annie) frustrating in that her fic seems to pop up in different locations. This one cannot be reached directly from her home webpage. If you get into her livejournal and back up several pages it is mentioned there. I forgot how I happened upon it, but it was definitely back door. Wish she'd work on "Waking the Dead."

Wish she'd work on "Waking the Dead." Sue, "Waking the Dead" was the very first fanfic I ever read. Needless to say it hooked me. Someone may have already said this but her "Last Summer" is also very good.

This is one of the better steamy, chock-full of sex scenes, Spuffy fics I've read. There were times I was mentally saying "awww" instead "yep. okay. Can they put their clothes back on now?". Good stuff about Spikey's reactions to being human again. Nice to see Spike and Buffy HAPPY.

A few days ago, I saw a reference, possibly on the next-to-last Part on the message board, to a fanfic series focussing on Spike & Giles & Wesley. I read the fanfic, but forgot to bookmark it; and I don't remember the exact title or author. The fanfic began with newly souled Spike going from Africa to L.A. hoping to find Angel for advice; and looking up Wesley to help find Angel. An AU launched from there, as Wesley and Spike and Giles become involved with a particular menace, thankfully not the First...Anyway, I want to find it again and bookmark it. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. The series also involved shared viewpoints between the three protagonists, multiple writers, several chapters, then a blog, then more chapters. Kinda good. I think the title might have been something like 'Watching Over' or 'For Your Eyes'...maybe. Still kicking myself for not bookmarking it. Gail
