////originally posted on ScoopMe SSS-part 20/// hello all I recommend this site for die-hard Spikeaholics [like me] for Spike-centric fic www.bandofbuggered.com/spike.htmlspecifically this set of three stories by Valerie: Spike Shirtless and Bleedingbandofbuggered.com/ssb1.html Post-Gift Spike/Dawn friendship, rated R (dirty words, violence). First in a trilogy. Spike Covered in Chocolatebandofbuggered.com/scc1.htmlSpike Lying Naked on a Chenille Rugbandofbuggered.com/sln1.html the last has 6 "chapters": The first five parts are rated R for some sexual language and violence. The sixth part is rated NC17. If you don't want to read a romantic Spike/Dawn pairing, just stop at the end of Part 5. . . . and when she says "pairing" she really means it. but dont worry, it's **extremely** well written.

Card Sharp by Caro, featuring Harmony, Spike, and Buffy. Harmony picks up her super-tacky business cards when Spike's there, and wackiness ensues.
Delightful!

The pages are coming up weird for me, so I really can't tell if I'm in the right place to post this. Fic Rec: Half Gifts by Shannon Post - Grave. Spike becomes human. B/S. Takes place in England. Very unique writing style. I've never read a fic that 'feels' like this one. WIP, updated yesterday. www.tar-xvf.net/shannon/half-gifts/

Ok, Nan, this is a link to Confronting the Sun at the FanFiction.Net site:
www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=936778&chapter=1
It has 32 chapters; I had trouble with parts 28 and 30 today. I don't know if that's a one-day thing, or if there's a problem with the link.
It opens in the year 3002, and tells the story of Buffy and Spike in flashbacks from Buffy's POV, starting in the year 2007. As far as spoilers are concerned, it's through S6.
Let me know if you like it.Laura

Hi! If anyone is interested in a Joss Whedon interview about BtVS, how he got started writing, and his new comic book "Fray", here it is: geocities.com/josswhedon_fray/webpage/josswhedon1.htmlThe comic book has some references to a "slayer who lived 200 hundred years ago" - but she banished all demons and magiks - wonder if he meant Buffy or someone who came after her?

I ran across a fanfic writer whose name is Rashaka. Out of curiosity, I went to her site to see if I could discern if she was "our" Rashaka or not. I still don't know. But on her site she had a list of post-Chosen fiction links, most WIP but some not. Twenty of them, easily. Here's the link ot Rakasha's page. Then the fiction links, you can try out for yourself, if you want. www.livejournal.com/users/rashakaThought some of you might be interested.

These are all listed on the SSS Website, but I thought I would copy them over here. Here of some of my other favorites. All of these can be found at www.allaboutspike.com. I like almost everything on that site--but be sure to check the ratings if you are not a fan of NC-17. I will say that in many of my favorite stories the sex is a small part of a larger story, so don't automatically rule something out if it has a higher rating, just skip over those parts. "Journeys" by Mary--my next favorite after Barb C. It is a WIP (Work in Progress), but she says most is already plotted and updates regularly. "When Eternity Lies in the Balance" by Jericho TGF (complete) "Eyes Only" by Lesley, Magpie, and Lori, complete. (PLEASE go to their website--it is spectacular. I've only been able to visit parts of it so far. Magpie has written a wonderful essay on Spike's "Hero's Journey". Much of their writing focuses on Spike, Giles and Wesley and it's fun to see Spike interact with other males rather than just Buffy all the time) "Things Present-Things Past" by Estephenia "After Dust" by emg (complete) Also, stuff by Kimi (she has some good short stories as well as a long interconnected series of stories beginning with "Voices in the Dark.") Annie Sewell-Jennings (somewhat dark--watch the ratings--I've liked her "Waking the Dead" but it hasn't been updated in months); Jane Davitt; Caro; Nautibitz (all NC-17, but no violence, some it is just plain funny). **Once linked to allaboutspike there you can also go to the author's list, call up an author and link to their website. Or, you can go to the home page and click on "Links" for dozens of good fanfic links. Then, on the fanfiction.net website (click on "Find" on the top tool bar and then type in author's name) "Rhapsody in Oil" by Eurydice1 (complete)--and she has several others, I like them all. "Here Is Gone" by Terri Botta (complete) "Her Sire-His Childe-Their Soul" by Kallysten --three connected stories, all complete. I avoided reading it for months since it starts with Buffy being turned, but could no longer ignore the 1000+ reviews. It actually is very entertaining once you get past the initial idea. She also has several others, some complete, some WIPs (but she updates very frequently). Just go to her website. "Raison D'etre " by Aeneas, (first part complete) "Base Elements" by Limber--started out very promising, but the updates have come very slowly. "Bag of Bones" by Shadowlass (WIP)

Listen Up S'cubies. I have just read a story that took my breath away. It is complete (despite what the intro says) and it is bloody brilliant. Fri night I wondered over to the Dancing Lessons site to see if DL, part 3 (Restoration) had been updated lately. While there I noticed a link called Fic Extras that I had never noticed before. When I clicked on it I found a number of stories by various authors, some of which I printed to take home over the weekend. Most of the Cousinjean stories listed are also available on All About Spike and I'd already read them, except for this one called Perfect World. I just finished it today and it's one of the best I've ever read. It is set soon after Spike returns from Africa and sees Buffy and Dawn again for the first time but much of the action takes place in an alternate reality created when Spike, after taking a beating from Xander who was not happy to see him back in SunnyD, makes a hasty wish in anger to Halfrek that he'd never had been chipped. The horrific alternative reality he finds himself in features Adam in control of Sunnydale and an ever expanding territory, including LA , and himself as Adam's ally(sp?) and Master of Sunnydale, living with Harmony in what had been Buffy's old house. Buffy is generally thought to be dead but has actually been a prisoner of the Initiative for several years, Willow is a vampire sired by Spike (when he attacked her in her dorm room that time bu in this reality there was no chip to stop him), Tara is a prisoner of the Initiative and is unknown to the Scoobies, Xander is dead (sorry Rob) having been killed by one of those demons from Doomed who threw him into the Hellmouth and Dawn never existed. Oh, Riley is a cyburg and Adam's second in command of the Initiative. Spike is appalled by this reality and by the knowledge that it all happened because he never got chipped. He must somehow restore the reality he came from. In this story the characters say things to each other that I'd longed to hear them say; arguments, acusations, revelations, confessions, and apologies. The dialogue is brilliant. Cousinjean knows these characters inside and out. There is an incredible chapter in which Tara performs a spell that allows Spike and the Buffy of this Alternative Reality to get into each other's heads and experience each other's memories so that Buffy could determine for herself if Spike is telling the truth about having come from another reality that must be restored. Very powerful. I sent Cousinjean a long Email telling her how much I love her writing. If anyone has read this story or reads it at my recommendation I'd appreciate knowing if you were as floored by this one I was. deborah Author: Cousinjean (Dancing Lessons fame) Title: Perfect World URL: randomthought.addr.com/redemptionista/perfectworld1.html

Actually, it's more a fleshing out of the final moments of Chosen. Gets into Spike's head at the end. I know just about everybody checks allaboutspike regularly, but this one is on fanfiction.net where the quality is quite variable so I thought I'd point it out. It's worth reading. www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1369064("A Place in the Sun by Cellar Dweller)

Nan - I think our Rashaka is named RAKSHA. I'm pretty sure Rashaka is one of the mods at Crumbling Walls. Thanks for the rec of Caro's Card Sharp - very funny. I've also been following her 'Seven Years in the Desert'. Future fic. Souled Spike in London working with the Council of Watchers. Tangled, and thus far not fully explained, history with Buffy, but they haven't seen each other for several years. Spike discovers Buffy is engaged. According to Caro, this will take rather a romance novel format. WIP: www.missivesfromthehellmouth.com/Deborah - You're right, 'Perfect World' was excellent. Like a Buffy/horror version of 'It's A Wonderful Life'. Cousin Jean is, IMO, one of the great stars of Buffy fanfic. Plus, she writes B/S, so what more do we need? All - the most recent chapter of Dancing Lessons 3 is brilliant - one of the best of this installment of this series. Shannon - Also try Valerie's Redeeming Spike's Ass. WIP. Are you the Shannon that wrote Half Gifts that I recommended earlier? Just curious. Betsy L. & Sue - I also loved Kallysten's series His Childe, Her Sire, Their Soul. Kallysten is at work on a fourth installment in this series. About 8 chapters or so are up at Fanfiction.net. One of the things that most amazes me about Kallysten's work is that English is not her first language. While I really enjoyed this series, one problem I had was that Buffy seemed to accept being vamped with almost no problems. From what I've seen of the fourth part, Kallysten MIGHT be planning to address some of those issues, and I'm very interested in seeing where she might take us. The recs from the S'Cubie site: I, too, highly recommend NautiBitz' fic. Smutty, funny, great dialogue and characterizations. All around fun. I've been in chat with Nauti, and she's fun there, too. I also liked After Dust, and am enjoying Bag of Bones by Shadowlass - so good. My (almost brand new!) computer died, and I just got word that I won't be getting it back for another week or so, so I can't do any writing, and I spent several hours last week reading Eurydice's fics. (She's kicking my butt at all the awards sites, so I wanted to check her out! LOL. Deb - LOL = Laughing Out Loud; ROTFL = Rolling On The Floor Laughing) Wonderful, unique plots. I especially enjoyed Charms of the Clarion. Her current WIP, Zephyr Ghosts, is nicely creepy. There are several on this list that I haven't read, and need to check out. Some fics I recommend: Coure Della Notte, by my bestest Buffy cyber-bud First Rabid: www.geocities.com/rabid1st/Cuoredellanotte1ffn.htmAll of Rabid's fic can be found at her site, Rain On Dust: www.geocities.com/rabid1st/fanfiction.htmlI also recommend her 'Facing the Mirrors' and 'The Fall of Eagles'. Rabid's fics are mostly NC-17, but have lots of plot, tho Fall of Eagles is more of a PWP type piece. Also try Ripe Wicked Plum: www.ripewickedplum.com/ I particularly enjoyed Wizard Glass (Spike & William, evil Willow) and Castaway (Buffy/Spike, deserted island). For laugh out loud funny, try mr. monkeybottoms: www.mrmonkeybottoms.com/'Spike Lips! Lips of Spike!' and 'The Wacky Adventures of Spike and the Buffybot' are fun, fun, fun. Be sure to read all of monkeybottoms' author's notes as well - they are as good as the fics. Another good WIP is Chiaroscuro by Miss Murchinson: home.mchsi.com/~missmurchison/Chiaroscuro.htmHasn't been updated for awhile. Just a warning - most of the fic I read is NC-17. I like good plots and characterizations (I'm particulary intrigued by how different writers write Spike - they can be so vastly different from one another, but I like him in all his incarnations), but I also enjoy yummy B/S sex, so if that offends you, you might want to give some of my recs a miss, or at least approach them with caution.
