[quote author=Mary Just a warning - most of the fic I read is NC-17. I like good plots and characterizations (I'm particulary intrigued by how different writers write Spike - they can be so vastly different from one another, but I like him in all his incarnations), but I also enjoy yummy B/S sex, so if that offends you, you might want to give some of my recs a miss, or at least approach them with caution. Mary
Mary, speaking of NC-17, have you read Nicolette Says Jump by Kalima? It's NOT my usual thing at all and it did sure made my eyes pop out of my head for sheer, unabashed, over the top raunchiness but (now I can use these abbreviations 'cause I know what they mean) it's LOL, ROTFL funny. Kalima wrote Daemons Luminati which is a beautifully written story of considerable depth and a personal favorite of mine. It's amazing to me that the same person wrote both these stories. Like I said it's raunchiness level was a bit over the top from what I normally tolerate- more than a bit beyond what I usually enjoy- but so well written and damn funny that I would recommend it. BTW, this is not S/B. This is set S4 when Spike was staying with Xander in his basement. Spike talks Xander into going to the Bronze one night and he picks up a women there just to have a good time, dragging a relunctant Xander along to the woman's apartment. Part two of the story just came out recently- I hadn't even realized it was a WIP, so if anyone dares to read this be sure to get both parts on All About Spike: www.allaboutspike.com/fic.html?id=342Kalima describes this as a "Hard R" and a S/X which I normally wouldn't venture ANYWHERE NEAR because, EWWWWWWWW, but really, this is more about the two of them w/ this woman but they do get really wasted and....things happen they don't EVER want to discuss afterwards. It's very funny.

Actually, it's more a fleshing out of the final moments of Chosen. Gets into Spike's head at the end. I know just about everybody checks allaboutspike regularly, but this one is on fanfiction.net where the quality is quite variable so I thought I'd point it out. It's worth reading. www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1369064("A Place in the Sun by Cellar Dweller) b]I just read the piece - very nice work! I recommend it highly.
Gawd, I hope Spike returns as a Slayer!

I liked this trilogy; but would have liked it much more without the frequent sex scenes. Don't mistake me - I like a good, well-written sex scene; but when they pop up every chapter or every other chapter and there are 30+ chapters, I find them repetitive and boring and stop reading them.

Rob, and anybody else who likes competently done Xander/Faith stories, I came across this site and wanted to pass along the word about it.
It's:
www.echonyc.com/~stax/Buffy/nwhepcat/index.htm
and the author's name seems to work out as new hepcat. Very well informed about music, and music appears to be woven into a number of stories.

Gail Rashka- These stories are posted (I believe) at FF.net with the sex scenes edited out. Just F.Y.I. Mary

Shannon - Also try Valerie's Redeeming Spike's Ass. WIP. Are you the Shannon that wrote Half Gifts that I recommended earlier? Just curious. Mary Hello Mary!! sorry to say I am not in the least the writer of Half Gifts. I am not 'fictionally' talented in any way, shape, or form. I *thoroughly* enjoy reading it. Shannon Hill

The reason I'm recommending this short story is because it explores Buffy's immediate reaction to Spike's denial of her declaration of love and her reasons for NOT protesting or arguing with him. Buffy's silence, her apparent acceptance of Spike's pronouncement appeared to me to imply her tacit agreement but here it is given quite a different interpretation, one that made me feel a whole lot better. The story's called "What I Mean" by Merryweather. It's a five minute read: allaboutspike.com/fic.html?id=529

I just noticed that Wisteria has a rec for this fic up at her site, and she calls the author Alice. The site I gave for this story is a site JUST for this fic, and the author really isn't listed. Her e-mail, however, has Shannon in it, so I assumed - very possibly incorrectly - that that was the author's name. I'm guessing Wisteria knows more than me, so - consider the author's name Alice. I rec'd Miranda's fics on the old board, but they're so good, I'm moving my rec over here. I especially loved 'Soulmates', and 'Adversaries'. One of the most outstanding aspects of Miranda's work is how much her stories feel like real episodes. The plotting is tight, the characterizations and voices great, and the whole gang get significant roles. While B/S, that relationship isn't necessarily the focus of the story. On the same page are stories by Annie and Sally. I've not read Sally's work, but I found Annie's 'Breathe' series, right at the top of the page really lovely & passionate. Takes place during and after Spike's torture by the first. NC-17. Here's the URL for this page: home.earthlink.net/~mlb13/buffy.htmEnjoy! Mary

I've read a few stories at this site. Y'all have GOT TO read SUPER FOOD WORLD by Valerie (Spike & Buffy go shopping) and THE CONSULTANT (Spike kidnaps a relationship doctor) - both are very, very funny and SUPER FOOD WORLD is also touching. I was laughing quite a bit at both, actually. Gail ;D////originally posted on ScoopMe SSS-part 20/// hello all I recommend this site for die-hard Spikeaholics [like me] for Spike-centric fic www.bandofbuggered.com/spike.htmlspecifically this set of three stories by Valerie: Spike Shirtless and Bleedingbandofbuggered.com/ssb1.html Post-Gift Spike/Dawn friendship, rated R (dirty words, violence). First in a trilogy. Spike Covered in Chocolatebandofbuggered.com/scc1.htmlSpike Lying Naked on a Chenille Rugbandofbuggered.com/sln1.html the last has 6 "chapters": The first five parts are rated R for some sexual language and violence. The sixth part is rated NC17. If you don't want to read a romantic Spike/Dawn pairing, just stop at the end of Part 5. . . . and when she says "pairing" she really means it. but dont worry, it's **extremely** well written.

I highly recommend this site and all their stories. They are based on what would have happed if when Spike was chipped, he went to LA. THey are all based on Angel episodes in Season 1 with some changes. The stories are rated NC-17 and are basically slash stories. BUt I found them very good. I just read them in order in one sitting as I just couldn't stop. Below is the link and a synopsis of each story. www.obsessedmuch.net/clockwork/archive.htmlThe Clockwork Vampire Series
I've Always Remembered You After watching 'The Initiative', I wondered what might have happened if Spike had run to LA instead of Buffy. This huge series deals with the Angel series from that hypothetical point. In this episode, two old enemies reunite on unfamiliar grounds.
Who Wants to be a Hero Just how different would 'Hero' have turned out if Spike had been with the team?
Nice Gift, Mind if I Keep It? Wesley's arrival is still scheduled in LA, but how will he react to two legendary killers?
Insomnia Tips for the Undead Penn's keeping Angel awake at nights and Spike has to deal with his sibling's return.
Keeping the Oven Empty Cordelia's pregnant, Wesley's worried about being thought of as gay, Spike's revealing some of his humanity...can Angel and Doyle cope with all these hormones on the loose?
She Ra and the Party Poppers To be honest, this is for anyone who thought Jheira didn't have any chemistry with Angel and thought something quite nasty should happen to her.
Breathing Down the Zeppo's Neck I couldn't resist. A much underused character from Sunnydale comes to LA to escape death threats. And there seems to be passion smouldering somewhere unexpected.
Under My Skin and in my Bed You remember the little boy possessed? You remember Spike's natural perception? Add it all up and this exorcism becomes slightly different.
Past, Present, Passée Sombody's come to party, and she's not in a very giving mood. Angst, angst and the weirdest vampire staking so far.
The Fight Club's for Wimps WARNING, DEALS WITH RAPE - Spike and Angel's relationship is pushed to the limit when an unforeseen enemie decides to make his move.
Eternity is Time Without You Still dealing with the impact of rape, the vampires have to face angelus once more. And is that vampire amused, or angry about his childe's new relationship?
Change is good for the Soul With angelus' cruel revelations, Cordelia, Wesley and Doyle are still reeling. So the arrival of both an incubus and Xander only serves to heighten the tension.
I'd Rather Have a Four by Four Faith's contract on Angel has been given, but with the change of circumstance, her methods have become even more deadly.
Why Are You? Wolfram and Hart, deeply disappointed with their failure, try a new tactic to rid themselves of the troublesome vampires. And Megan is back...in some form or other.
I've Never Been That Blind Lindsay, disgusted with the idea of killing the children, makes his trip to Angel's offices. But there are people there who want more than just redemption. Lindsay McDonald, meet revenge
To Shansu, In loving Memory Angel's reward; does it sound that enticing in his current position. And how far will Spike go to keep things as they are?
Judge me After season one, Angel and Spike spend a little downtime to appraise each other.

Peasant, whose work I admire greatly, has written the definitive "true" version of Spike's "Girl in the Coal Bin" story that he tells Dawn in "Crush." It's a William rather than a Spike story (i.e., historical).
