This is a post Season 7 S/X I got through my email last night uk.geocities.com/tales_from_the_attic2/xanderspike/tabaqui/letters.htmAlthough I thought she needed a little better beta (nothing really bad, Cecily was Cicely and few words that were spelled wrong) I couldn't stop reading, even though I wanted to go to bed. I may have just been a little more emotional last night, though.

Caraleigh, thanks so much for sharing this URL. so very appreciative. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was so very hot and sweet. I was sitting here reading, my eyes all bleary, knowing I needed to go to bed and just couldn't stop reading it. The author has a WIP that I've been reading called Changes. It may not be quite as good as this one, but it's kept me entertained and wanting updates. Just scroll down to the bottom of this story and click on Scarecrow Horses. Let me know what you think.

I really liked this one. So great to see a full length story from Anna S. I love even her little drabbles, but getting a new complete story was so great. I'm looking forward to seeing all the results of the Spander Inquisition. Lola <edit> Anna S's recommendations from the Spander Inquisition are good, too.

Thank you! www.catbones.com/scarecrow-horses/fanfiction.htmlCara and I must be following the same links; just finished the first 15 chapters of "Changes" at Scarecrow Horses which is an alt BtVS S4 from about "Doomed" to oh, hek, 4.22 in any case. VERY good characterization and smooth handling of different possibilities within the story. Being the ultimate spoiler whore I read the last chapter posted and it's the alt "Gift"; there's an update promised for tomorrow but, in tamdem with "Repossession" it's a WIP which is so well structured it doesn't feel broken or unfinished as it is. Julia, and again it's a Xander Rescue Hero story

Mary, definately read "Letters" before coming to Seattle; we could meet at the Jackson Street Dragons, even (although I'd bet William spends time at Elliott Bay Books, too). Julia, some of the best descriptions of Seattle I've read

Oh, and I love people who update WIPs when they say they will; Scarecrow Horses has gone on to its next installment, which is the "what happens after Buffy Jumps" chapter and starts RIGHT after that happens...
Julia, and it's full of sights and sounds and smells and sorrow

Not too sure this qualifies as STRICTLY slash: Wisteria's latest WIP (in addition to Correspondences and Antiquities) is a threesome: Spike/Buffy/Xander. It's called Mezcla, and it's at: www.alanna.com. Use the Live Journal link and you're there! It's Post-Chosen, one year later, AU.

Best banter I've ever read, outside of a BtVS/AtS transcript: written by The Brat Queen. I haven't any interest whatsoever in hyppogryff stories. I haven't any interest in a Wes/Angel 'ship, yet I am following her current WIP, Protocol, just to read her banter. Nobody does banter better, IMHO, of the guys in the 'verse. Here's a short example of what I mean: It's a conversation taking place in what might be called the den or lounge area of Angel's headquarters in an AU setting. Angel turned to Xander. "Do I look different to you?" Xander leaned on his cue stick, tilting his head to the side. "Let's see… new shirt, you put those highlights in your hair, and you have *finally* accepted your fate as a summer and *not* a winter so I'd have to say that…. yes, I don't care in the slightest." "You know I'm going to bring up these conversations whenever people ask me why I had no doubts you were gay," Angel told him. "And yet you never hit on me," Xander made a thoughtful sound. "You know I don't think I thank you enough for that." "I wanna see," Connor said. "Connor, I can't hit on Xander," Angel said. "I'm married." "Your *marriage* is the thing that's blocking you on that one?" Xander asked. "Well 'oh my God it burns' seemed a little catty even for what we're calling a relationship," Angel told him. "You could defend my honor," Xander told Spike. Spike swallowed down a mouthful of beer from a bottle he kept handy. "Because I'm that het up on encouraging you and Angel to sleep together?" "Speaking of God and the burning," Xander said, with an accompanying overly dramatic shudder. "But we were not speaking of the naughty touching. We were speaking of the flirtation and the flattery to my ego. My ego is besmirched, yet you sit there like the very mute lump on the undead log." "Because you *want* Angel to flirt with you?" Spike asked. "Well… okay, no," Xander admitted. "So you want me to get into an argument with Angel to get you the right to a thing that you don't want in the first place?" Spike asked. "I'm just saying it could cross your mind," Xander told him. Spike turned to Angel. "I'm not dating mortals again. This is the last time, I swear it." "Did I warn you about this or did I warn you about this?" Angel reminded him. Excerpt from Protocol, Part 17, by The Brat Queen, at: www.livejournal.com/users/thebratqueen/

You know, my foot gets healed, I'm not going to have all this time on my hands and THEN what are you going to do about fic recommendations? OK, this is a sweet, sentimental, and funny bit of Spander, PG-13, mostly because Illyria has to be chaperoned, immediatly post AtS s5. Would be a nice way to start Thursday morning, but I have trouble with impulse control, you know? www.allaboutspike.com All Our Exploring, by Doyle Julia, or, as my microwave tells me when it's done heating up the water for the Orchids: ENJOY YOUR MEAL

Yes! Doyle's story was adorable! So glad to see that there's some S/I fic coming through.
(I saw two elsewhere...now, where did I see them?) If I can find them again, I'll be back to repost.
