Posting this on both boards...
It's quite possible I'm the only person just now reading Matthew's wonderful musical version of Buffy...but if you ALSO haven't yet, go to Slayage and have a ball. It's simply wonderful.
AND NEEDS ARCHIVING?

AND NEEDS ARCHIVING? Hmmm.. Rusty is doing this season's reviews and I think that is included in the list. If not, I copied it to my harddrive so I can always send it to Vlad.

Never mind then....I had just posted something on ScoopMe about me archiving it but I see that quicker fingers have prevailed. Oh well. It's the thought that counts, right? I also have it on my hard drive as well. Nothing like having three copies, huh? Rae - what still needs to be archived? Any other parts? Or any special thread? Let me know. -L

ROFLMAO! Spring, those were outstanding! I'm so glad you were inspired! SOOO funny! Translation please. What's ROFLMAO mean? And while your at it, can you tell me the meaning of LOL? I keep asking and no one will tell me. Is it "laugh out loud" Because that's what I always thought but then I see it used sometimes where it would make no sense in that context.

I've heard it means "rolling on the floor, laughing my ass off."
I could be wrong; i'm not big with the acronyms.

I was wondering - can everyone else see Deborah's picture? I can't, and I had the same problem on the other board with pics from that site, though others didn't seem to. So...just wondering. Maybe my anti-virus thing doesn't trust that site for some reason. I wish I knew enough to tailor it properly, if that is the problem.
Hint. Hint.

One thing that has definitely struck me, regarding the Buffy Angel Buffy Spike thing is how similar Spike as soulless vampire and Xander as soulless vampire were. Both, of course, went with the leather thing, and both were dominated (in many respects) by the woman in their life. Willow tortures Angel, asks Xander if he wants to participate and his reply is "no, i like to see you go." In their Season Six relationship, Buffy was definitely the aggressor, and the one who would make out with him and then blow him off and tell him it didn't matter (which always struck me as more of a guy thing, but I know women do it to, so my apologies for the generalization). As humans, Xander and Spike loved unattainable women and were perceived as geeky and rather pathetic. Perhaps the animus between Xander and Spike come from the fact that they are so similar, and maybe neither is what Buffy is looking for. Just my thoughts, and apologies if this is a subjects that's already been done to death. You are very perceptive. I've been of the opinion that Spike and Xander are extremely similar for some time. The interesting thing about that is their pretty different upbringings. While Xander's father was an abusive drunk and his mother was at best disinterested, Spike's mother was a beautiful, nurturing soul. Both, however, were born with deeply sensitive natures. You can trace almost every action of both men, negative or positive, to love. Spike and Xander are all about love. I think the great majority of their animosity (at least in the last 2 to 3 seasons) is a result of their shared devotion to Buffy. Xander's feelings about vampires in general are a whole other topic, but that clearly played a role. Let's just say the staking of one of his closest friends by his own hand in The Harvest-combined with Angel's immediate hold over Buffy's heart without any consideration toward him at all-gave him negative feelings from the beginning. His capacity for "seeing" things is deeply limited regarding Spike as a result. Vampires are Xander's blind spot. For his part, Spike sees more of his human past in Xander than he'd care to admit, and the Zeppo has a bond with the Scooby Gang that William never achieved with anyone outside of his mother. Therefore Spike is particularly cruel to him. Spike is entranced with Buffy and deeply respectful of Willow (in his own way) because power is what the vampire responds to. Xander, on the other hand, is a reflection of William's all too human insecurities. The fact that Xander has managed to work his way into Willow and Buffy's hearts bugs him to no end. Normal humans like Xander who provide uncomfortable reminders of his own feelings of uselessness are Spike's blind spot. Xander saw Spike as a "soulless thing." Spike saw Xander as nothing more than a useless "boy." Both were only seeing what they wanted to see, of course, and no resolution or understanding between them was ever reached. It's one of the many wasted opportunities of season 7. Spike's full retrieval of his soul should have forced both men to look at each other more clearly. Instead of giving us an episode where they get to interact (like Anya and Willow in Triangle, for example), we get nothing outside of a few moments in Xander's apartment that tell us nothing. The closest indication we have of a new understanding is Xander's remarkably (for him) evenhanded treatment of Spike's trigger issues. The Xander of previous seasons would have enthusiastically advocated an immediate staking. In Spike's case, there seems to be some genuine concern shown toward Xander in 'First Date,' though he said he was doing it on Buffy's behalf. Sadly, that's not much to go on.
