Works for me. Thanks, E G. And interestingly (to me) 'eg' in cyberspeech means 'evil grin'. (Just learned that one.)

I was wondering - can everyone else see Deborah's picture? I can't, and I had the same problem on the other board with pics from that site, though others didn't seem to. So...just wondering. Maybe my anti-virus thing doesn't trust that site for some reason. I wish I knew enough to tailor it properly, if that is the problem. Hint. Hint. Huh. I can see my pic (which is a pic of Himself, not me). Anyone else can't see it? Why wouldn't it be visible? Vlad? Please explain me this. It's just a picture I moved from a website I had bookmarked.

You too with the perceptive!
I think part of the problem with Season 7 is not so much that JW was working on too many things at once, but whether or not it was really going to end, and whether or not there was going to be a spin-off. There have always been issues among the characters' relationships that span many seasons: Willow and Anya, Buffy/Xander/Angel issues, Buffy and Spike, Giles and Buffy, Giles/Buffy/Watchers' Council, and so on. That is one of the things I've so appreciated about the show; some things, events, betrayals, what have you, aren't quickly resolved, or resolved to anyone's satisfaction, or resolved at all. If there had been another season, Xander and Spike's relationship could have been resolved more fully or at least resolved. In trying to keep all of the options open, it curtailed alot of lingering issues.
Here's hoping for a spin-off; as Miguel on the ScoopMe board suggested, a slayer school spin-off would dovetail perfectly with how the BtVS ended and give closure to some of these topics.

Xander saw Spike as a "soulless thing." Spike saw Xander as nothing more than a useless "boy." Both were only seeing what they wanted to see, of course, and no resolution or understanding between them was ever reached. FYI Rob, I've seen a tape of a JM Q&A where he said that Spike didn't particularly dislike Xander, but he was just always in his face.

. I've been of the opinion that Spike and Xander are extremely similar for some time... The closest indication we have of a new understanding is Xander's remarkably (for him) evenhanded treatment of Spike's trigger issues. The Xander of previous seasons would have enthusiastically advocated an immediate staking. In Spike's case, there seems to be some genuine concern shown toward Xander in 'First Date,' though he said he was doing it on Buffy's behalf. Sadly, that's not much to go on. Rob, excellent post as usual. I think you've hit several nails on their respective heads. And this (their relationship) was definitely an issue I wanted resolved this season, one of many that wasn't.

One of the mysteries of life perhaps.

I think eg is right, but that another factor in the general quality of Season 7 (better than Season 6 in my opinion but not the greatest) was the show's age. Not that many shows can last beyond a 6th season without running out of steam.
I also believe that Whedon was over-worked and over-tired; and that SMG was tired of being Buffy and wanted to do other things.
As for the Xander/Spike relationship; I like it the way it is, or at least sort of a prickly half-grudging semi-friendship. Not everyone adored Anya, but she was part of the group.
A big THANX to all who gave suggestions on how to get a picture up, especially Dave, whose suggestion was the last I read and the one I printed out and, I think, did the trick. If someone else is using the picture (presuming it comes out), let me know and I'll change it.

I just thought I'd share since a large number of us S'cubies own cats. A few years ago PBS had a presentation called 'Cats'. It was 2 hours I think(I still have it) and talked about the history of cats, wild cats, domesticated cats, it was fascinating. And one of my cats WATCHED it. (It could have been all the meowing and snarling on the screen, I prefer to think she was just interested in her history.)

Gail Gail, why is your quoted portion at the bottom on your posts and on the top of everyone elses? Are you using the 'quote' button or cutting and pasting?
