I would have thought that with William's apparant class background he would have gone to bording school and so already be familiar with that type of 'fun'. I dunno; did every boy at English boarding schools encounter homosexual activity, or just some schools, and/or some boys? William could have been home-tutored, particularly if he'd was too sensitive for boarding school. Gail

Overall, not one of my favorite Spuffy fanfics.
Gail Must...resist...the siren's call...of fanfic! It's bad enough that I have the board running behind my thesis and that come and check out the news every 20 minutes or so... But the temptation of fanfic!
No! Micha, you must be strong! No fanfic reading until thesis is done. You know how fanfic can keep you up until 3am and you don't even realise what time it is until you're done reading and you have to get up for work in 3 hours.
No, no fanfic until thesis done...
Hurry, hurry and write thesis!

Darn it all to Heck!
I have no great luck...
I have taken a vacation day from work to work at home on my thesis. What do they go and do? They have an Engineering crew in to check the building for the source of a leak that we have had for 10 years. Today. Men with drills. Wonderful. Excuse me as I turn up my radio.

I read the story. Not bad, but perhaps a bit too many graphic details about oral sex than I wanted to read. Some interesting themes, though. Overall, not one of my favorite Spuffy fanfics.
Gail Yeah you're right. It isn't one of my favorite Spuffy fanfics either. But it did end up being one of my favorite Spike fanfics. I also liked the small but very meaningful interaction between Spike and Willow. It was something that I wanted to see, but never really got this season.

Micha - Good luck working on your thesis!! When is it due? I remember working on my senior thesis in college - it was about Winston Churchill and his labor exchanges. Exciting, huh? But I digress.... [glow=yellow,2,300]GOOD LUCK MICHA!!![/glow]

I'm reading about the records the new Harry Potter book has smashed. I've never read any of the books, and was totally bored by the movie (which I know means nothing about the quality of the books). Is the story really that well written? Or is this just hype?

Hey Lee and Rae, The good news is that 25 pages here is "only" 375 posts, on ScoopMe is would have been 500 posts. (Or, on ScoopMe 375 posts would have only looked like 16 pages). I still think is was easier to scroll thru lots of pages on ScoopMe (if you just read titles and didn't open them). It's the only thing I miss--and too minor to worry about. Sue I know what you mean, Sue. That is the one thing I miss as well. Though, not having it does keep me motivated to sign on and catch up as often as I can ! I just miss the ability to quickly see what the subject lines were for posts I had missed so I could skim through looking for specific things.

If you have the time and are so inclined, I just don't know how to clean my avatar up of my future wife. So, if you can, I'd appreciate it.

I adore this board but I do miss the closed posts of ScoopMe. However, my love of the private message system and the things I can do for "Lee's Laugh Song" more than makes up for the post format here.

Is the story really that well written? Or is this just hype? I can't speak for the others, James. Though... *winks* at times, that doesn't stop me from trying! I loved the books and I was a huge skeptic at first. I didn't read them when they were popular and I didn't get the hype. I was bored at my sister's and decided to give the first one a try. I was quickly hooked on them. They are well-written and almost worthy of the ridiculous hype that surrounds them (I say "almost" because some of it is just insanity--- says the girl from Florida where there was a big "hulaboo" about a 14-year old girl who found a copy put out early at a Walgreens).

Micha - Good luck working on your thesis!! When is it due? I remember working on my senior thesis in college - it was about Winston Churchill and his labor exchanges. Exciting, huh? But I digress.... [glow=yellow,2,300]GOOD LUCK MICHA!!![/glow] Thanks Lee! I'm plodding away at it, but the problem is, I don't care about it any more. I'm just one of those people who, now that I know the results, my curiosity is quenched and I just don't care about explaining it to others. Not a good thing. The thesis is due September 17th. Yeah, yeah that's a long way off, but with Engineering theses a lot of time has to be put in creating the appendices with all the raw data that have to be included at the end of the thesis. What's more, my thesis supervisor is dissapearing to his cottage for the summer and will only be around intermittently. So, unless I want to have him show up at the end of August and say, "Hey Micha, here is the stack of changes I want you to make in the next two weeks and to heck with your vacation plans for the Labour day week." I have to go see him tomorrow with most of my conclusions. The rest is just window dressing, but the conclusions need to be right. So here I am desperately trying to come up with some conclusions and the only one I can come up with, is that I don't care anymore and would rather be hanging around here with you guys. Oh well, I've just got to get it over with. Micha

I so need to be working right now but who cares?! Micha, I love your signature line! So funny!! Thanks Lee. I "borrowed" it from the Dilbert cartoons (who like me is an Engineer in a cubicle) In the strip, Phil is the Prince of Insufficient Light and is the ruler of Heck, where people get sent for minor transgressions that aren't bad enough for the Prince of Darkness. Phil carries a spoon instead of a pitchfork and has been known to Darn people to Heck. On one occasion he made Dilbert eat with the accoutants as penance for fibbing. I was trying to stop swearing when I came up with this line. It works too. Instead of letting loose the swear word, recite my tag-line. And it takes so long to say, it's guarranteed to break you of the swearing habit. Of course now I've taken to swearing like Spike, which here isn't really considered swearing. Except maybe to my Mother. I don't know where she picked up the Bloody was a swearword. I've never heard it used as such around here. At least not until I picked it up Micha
