Hi everyone. I've got half my kids watching Harry Potter too. The other half is draped over my shoulders. Good to see you back, Dave. Chris, the drapee, is slowing me up and so it took me ages to work out that we had moved. Hey, Kerrie. We don't see each other at the same time very often.

Dave? DAVE? DAVE'S NOT HERE!! Oh wait, there he is. I'm glad you're having a good time with your daughter. Wow....5'4" already! She's going to be tall. Yeah, she's growing like a weed. I'm thinking a career as a photojournalist, or supermodel.

Could Harry be the Buffy for the next generation?

Rob, But, you see this is good news. All that great children's literature is still out there awaiting you. (Some of my favorite books are "kids" books.) ******************************************* I was actually just trying to be cute, there. I really read voraciously...just not in the same areas as many here. I read all of the original 56 Hardy Boys mysteries several times over by the time I was nine years old, for example. I was drawn to "older" (poor word to use, I know) material at a pretty young age. When I was ten, I picked up Christie's "Ten Little Indians." I was hooked from the first sentence. I remember snapping up her stuff as fast as I could. A pointless high school memory: in Sophomore English, we were asked to do a research paper, and given three novels to choose from. One of those was "Ten Little Indians." Oh, man...this is a sure A, and I only got those in music classes. I'd read it fifteen times or something. Naturally, I was too lazy to claim it in time: in our class of thirty students, ten were alloted to each of the three choices, and the Christie book went first. So I wound up having to analyze "The Great Gatsby." Of course, I got a C. I liked the book....to this day, though, I wonder how a 15 year old is supposed to understand the subtext of a love triangle set in Jazz Age New York City. These days..I know I could get a B minus. My third choice, by the way, was "The Catcher In The Rye." I decided I couldn't write a decent research paper about a baseball player, so I skipped that one. Naturally, one day a few months down the road I picked it up to kill time while serving detention and started reading....and I couldn't put it down. I could've written a KILLER paper on Holden Caulfield. There was a guy a fifteen year old could identify with. Another depressing story from my high school days. Such fun.... That was the funniest depressing story I've read in a long time Rob! Thanks for *chortling* sharing your *giggling hysterically* pain with us *MMMMMWWWWHHAAA!

According to my dictionary, the apocolypse is the end of the world, and since that can only happen once, there is no plural of apocolypse. Doesn't mean there can't be multiple failed attempts at an apocolypse. But it can only be achieved once. Unless you believe the Architect...... Is a failed apocolypse an apocolapse?

Don't count on it. I remember prophecies of being tall made when I was 11 or 12. I was 5'4". I grew to a giant 5'6"! I just dwarf my 6' husband! I'm figuring she's got a lot of growing left to do, and if her eating habits are any indication, she'll be 8' tall by the end of this summer! The kid shoves more food in her face than I do, and still makes Calista Flockhart look like Cameron Manheim.

Is a failed apocolypse an apocolapse? I don't think so. Sort of like a failed suicide attempt isn't a suicide. Only one to a customer.

Hey, Kerrie. We don't see each other at the same time very often. No, usually at the times when you are on I have a child attached and can't type. I don't know why I am perservering today. I suppose some days I'm just desperate. They are doing my head in today. Chris is sick and clingy.
