I think that what Spike needs to do is to "find" himself, determine who he really is and find the perfect person for him. One that loves him the way he is and isn't gonna try and change him in who she thinks he should bo. In fact I know of the perfect person, who could adore him fangs and all . . . . why me of course ;D Isn't it wonderful the way things work out? ;D Mary

Isn't it wonderful the way things work out? ;D Mary Isn't it just . . . I'd even take him sans soul with the chip. I still think he was more human than most. Sure he would be a biter without the chip . . . but what a bite and a nip between lovers huh?

James: The best thing you can do for your daughter is to teach her to respect herself and to be strong. So many women (across all generations) have been socialized to be passive and giving, to put other's needs before their own which can be so dangerous around the wrong people. I'm all for people being nurturing and thinking of others before themselves (hell, I was raised Catholic) but if you don't take care of yourself, you'll have nothing to give. Not that I'm suggesting that people who were assaulted and molested are AT ALL at fault! I just think the more strong female role models we have, and the more we teach our girls that their needs matter too, the healthier it will be for everyone. Yes, and make sure that she always KNOWS she can come to you and tell you right away if anything happens at all - even if it turns out to have been innocent. I don't know a lot about it, but I would think that a lot of abuse that happens with relatives could be very quickly stopped if the parent confronts the abuser immediately, and lets him know that he's being watched. And, James, this is something I hope YOU never have to deal with. Mary

OK, just had to brag! Sorry, but I'm super excited. Okay, first, Anya has now been off all breathing aids since 3 a.m. She's totally going on her own, and while she's breathing fast, it's still okay! So, no tubes in her face! WOO-HOO! Clean pictures tonight.
Okay, the other big thing. First, some background for those who don't know. Babies need to learn how to suck, so usually, while in the womb in the 7th or 8th month, they begin learning by sucking their thumbs. Anya, of course, was born so early she never learned this. Further, preemies have a harder time bottle feeding in the beginning because they get too tired. So, either way, they are given a feeding tube. Well, Anya had her first bottle feed this afternoon. She took half her feed (15 cc's) through the bottle! YEAH! She's getting so big. And she's up to 3 lbs. 11 oz., so she's getting closer and closer to that 5 lbs. home mark. I can't wait to see her tonight. Just had to share.

I've met so many women who've been through it and either felt they couldn't tell and be believed, or they did tell and were disbelieved. Not this father. God help the man my little Angel accuses of anything. But I pray dailey that I never have to deal with this with any of my chidlren, but I am so much more afraid for my little girl.

Mary You know Mary, until I reread my message after reading your reply . . . it sure sounded different when I first typed it But really, let's pretend we are in an alternate universe and let's say that vamps are real (and they are people to you know - lol) . . . if you came across Spike . . wouldn't you be tempted to let him have a taste . . just a nibble . . . just to see what it felt like . . . . I'm a curious person by nature . . . so I think I would . . . My philosphy has always been "I'll try anything once, twice if I like it, three times if it's exceptional" . . . and that has gotten me into trouble at times (lol)

Just thought I would call you out - I see you lurking over there. How did your daughter's tee-ball pictures go yesterday? I was such a pain when it came time to take our team pictures - I was the kid in front, wriggling around, taking off my hat, making faces, etc. Such a brat. Procrastinating (again!) because...well...that's just what I do. I have gotten work done today (which is a shocker) but I'm still basking in my success at switching computer monitors. Shut up, Laura, I know you're laughing at me. *Thumps head on desk* When is summer vacation over again? My kids are driving me crazy. They fight all the time now. Tabitha has this thing about kicking Jordans door open and then she can't figure out why Jordan is chasing her down the hall. ARGGGH! Hi Lee. I have been trying to catch up on posts but everytime I sit down to do it I have to get up and threaten someone with death. Tab's pictures went fine last night and it was also her last game so yippee skippee on that front. How are things with you (besides conquering your tech problem)?

Haven't got a clue why, but I love it! Hello! Vampires! Mary
