So, I just posted as a guest (shellroth) but now I've joined. I just started watching Buffy/Angel about a year ago, and in my 57 years I have never been so obsessed with a TV show and Spike is my favorite! I just hope that it's just a temporary glitch BECAUSE I AM DYING TO READ THE REST OF YOUR REVIEWS. I honestly wish you could review every episode because I'm amazed at how you can find all the themes and the dialog related to those themes, etc. The best Buffy reviews ever.

I asked our tech folks about this, and one of the other members sent a message to our webmaster guy - it should be fixed up before long. I am glad you are enjoying the reviews!

Thanks so much for your prompt reply. I'm so glad to here that it's a technical issue that can be fixed. Seriously, I'm going through withdrawal because I can't wait to read your take on The Yoko Factor. I see that your last review is for Afterlife, which I love and think is underrated and has my second favorite Spike scene ever. Anyway, are you planning on doing more? Tons of great Spike stuff both good and scary. I was very surprised when I found out that some Buffy fans don't like Seasons 6 and 7. I really love them! And Spike's character development is phenomenal. Anyway, thanks again!

And Spike's character development is phenomenal. Anyway, thanks again! SOME Buffy fans don't like 6 and 7 - and they are very loud Buffy fans, who always post as if "everybody knows" that "most Buffy fans" didn't like 6 & 7. However, I've never been able to find any independent confirmation of this, and personally, I can't think of any reason to believe it. I've seen online polls where 2 & 6 usually came out on top, and I remember the FX "viewer's choice" Buffy days, where S6 was very much represented in the voting. So - honestly, I have no idea why many people post as if "it's a given" that 6 & 7 aren't as well liked. It is sure not true around here. Yes, I love 6 & 7, especially 6. I do want to finish the reviews. I have had some extreme challenges in my personal life the last few years, and had to put it on hold. I do want to get back to them . . . in fact, it would probably do me some good to get back to them. You know what? Let me set myself a goal of some kind right now - how about - at least one a month for the next 6 months? Let me see how that goes. Thanks so much for taking the time to post with your positive feedback and encouragement - it is helpful. Feel free to comment on any of the Spikecentricity threads, our "general gabfest" thread, or . . . well, any of the threads, and welcome to the S3!

I just recently discovered the soulfulspike site since coming to BTVS way late. Since all of BTVS streams on netflix, it's been a crazy marathon few months. (random tip: I've been streaming the episodes on my bluray player and the quality is something to behold--it's so crisp that I can sorta see how shoddy the sets are, so do your own cost benefit analysis). I so do love your reviews, you are beyond insightful--I suppose with the benefit of being a few years away from watching it during BTVS's air time, you've had time to ruminate and parse. I'm reading your reviews like a desperate student reading SparkNotes before his Russia Lit final. It's really great stuff. Thank you for all the previously expended efforts and I do hope you keep it up.

I will be retired from work starting Jan 1, 2012. I still have many things on my plate, but I am hoping that I can finally get back to these reviews. I am so glad you are enjoying them! Feel free to comment on any of the Spikecentricity threads if you want to share any of your thoughts.

Time to catch up on all the postponed projects and maybe ... just relax for a change. Oh to be a "lady of leisure"... But my time will come soon enough. (I hope...) leftylady.

Take it when you can get it, lefty! I am on week two, and LOVING it, though right now, it still feels more like I'm on vacation. I think I am going to new a couple of months to just get caught up on tons o' stuff, and then I can dig into finishing the analyses . . .

Oddly though I find that I don't have any more time than I had when I was working. Bobman and I are always going, doing, going, doing. Nevertheless--I miss the old grind, I miss the abuse, I miss going to bed before I'm sleepy in order to get up at 5AM. NOT!It does feel like you're on a prolonged vacation. I still sometimes sense like I have to be getting up to go. Bob, who retired about a year before I did says he still feels it too. The best part is when you realize that no, THIS is your new reality. I love it. Please do more analyses, Spring. I miss them.

Hi Spring! You might remember me as LadyDi. I've been participating in the BtVS rewatch over on Tor.com. Thought I'd look up the old S3 board to see if it was still a thing. So glad to see it's still here. I've missed your analyses too.

I tried to login under the old name, but I guess it had just been too long. Dianthus is the genus name for a bunch of flowering plants, including a species known more familiarly as Sweet William. Seemed appropriate.

I know it's already very late in the game, but I just want to thank you for all of the time and effort you've spent on these reviews! I only finished BTVS very recently, and I was craving for more when I found this website. The analyses helped organize all these thoughts in my head that I couldn't quite put into words, and have given me so many new perspectives on each episode. It's really amazing how a TV show can inspire so much learning and soul searching. Thank you again
