I can't claim fortuitous encounters like Lee H., but today, I got whistled at on my scooter! Builds confidence, ne?
shwrt shroo (OK, that's my lame attempt at spelling a whistle : I think that getting a whistle MIGHT actually be more of a boost than getting propositioned... Lee? Either way always nice to be appreciated. ;D

Just to clarify (I'm sure it was a typo), the first episode of the first season was "City of". "Heartthrob" was the first episode of the third season. Dave, thanks so much for noticing that! I totally missed it when I was typing it out. Thanks!!

Nan, that reminds me. I meant to post something earlier about this but in all the spinning around in my chair, I forgot. Last night while shopping, I stumbled (yes, literally. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going) across a scooter and immediately thought of you. After I picked myself back up (as well as the scooter), I hopped on it and started telling my mom that I know someone who has a scooter, she drives it all the time, etc. My mom, who has heard me talk about y'all before, said, "Isn't her name Nan?" I didn't realize how much I mention y'all to other people. Anyway, I just thought it was funny. And congratulations on the whistle, you hot little mama you! At the risk of incurring the ire of my fellow S'cubies, Lee's chair spinning reminded me of this scene, which, although the episode was not-so-good, for some reason this scene makes me giggle.

Oh he's so cute. All that screaming! Thanks, deb. Put a smile on face during this dull and tedious day. I have been involved in talks with our accountants and auditors and TAX CONSULTANTS yesterday and today. Oh - so painful. So hard to keep my mind from wandering. And I loved Whoopi's response/remarks about and to James at the end. Oh yeah, she had it bad. I remember there there was a magazine cover of James biting Whoopi and Whoopi looking sohappy. Don't remember which magazine it was. But after seeing this clip I bet that the idea for the cover arose from their meeting on Hollywood Squares.

The Fox Affiliate in Chicago is also airing AtS S3 on Sundays at 11:30 pm. So it's S3 on Fox and S1 on TNT. I just have to make sure I don't miss or screw up the recording of In the Dark. That's the only one I really want on tape. The rest would be nice to see if time permits but I won't cry if if miss them. But if I miss In the Dark I will be very unhappy. That is such good news! Is that 11:30 Central time? I'll have to figure out how to program the timer on my VCR.

Dave, thanks so much for noticing that! I totally missed it when I was typing it out. Thanks!! For the record, I generally try to stay away from picking nits about typos, since I'm sure I make plenty of my own. But since we have several people who haven't been watching Angel and might be trying to play catchup now, I thought it best in the event they might get confused. For the record.

A MUST see. Make sure you watch the whole clip. He is so adorable. The audience is so wild for him and whooping it up like Hollywood Squares has never seen. And see Whoopi Goldberg under James' spell. She is so smitten. A fun clip, for sure. www.impisheyes.com/home.htmlNow that was fun! Whoopi was hysterical; definitely smitten. She has good taste. It's interesting seeing Spike's mannerisms on James. I wonder how much of Spike really is James by now. Probably quite a lot, either that or James has been taken over by Spike.

shwrt shroo (OK, that's my lame attempt at spelling a whistle : I think that getting a whistle MIGHT actually be more of a boost than getting propositioned... Lee? Either way always nice to be appreciated. ;D I think a whistle is definitely more of a boost. To me, a whistle says, "Check her out! She is looking gooooood!" A proposition, to me, says, "I'm so desperate to get some, I will PAY for it." Nan got a whistle, Nan got a whistle...... (yes, I know I am acting like a five year old)

{{{Erin}}} - I'm so sorry you didn't get into the class you wanted. That sucks! Don't be too hard on yourself. I bet the competition was fierce. BTW, my friend and I are getting a boondoggle (?) to Chicago on October 8. As part of a department outing, we have a few hours free during the afternoon. We'll probably be left out at Navy Pier, and then we get to do what we want. Any suggestions to get the most bang for the buck? Then we have to meet up for supper and a hockey game. Sometimes my job doesn't suck that bad. Right now, I'm bored out of my flippersmackin mind. Except for you guys, I'd be nuts. [glow=orange,2,300]Counting down to 10-01.![/glow]As a local I sholuld be able to advise you but I so rarely venture out I'm pretty clueless. There's lots to see at Navy Pier and I'm sure you can catch busses from Navy Pier to anywhere, whether you wanted to go to the Museum Campus where they have the Shedd Aquarium, the Field Museum of Natural History and the other thing, where they look at the planets and stars, the watchamacallit. Or, you could get a bus to the Art Institute I bet. Erin, any ideas for Sue? Sandy I mean KAREN, for Karen.

At this risk of getting a "who cares" from everybody, I wanted to say I did not get into the advanced fiction writing class at University of Chicago. I guess I'm not advanced enough. Major bummer, dude. I can't give college credit by myself, or I'd offer to teach you myself in return for all the lovely feedback. If you want to send me your submission, I'd look it over and see if I can tell what you need to make it to the next plateau....

Puh-lease .... "Beer Bad" is easily one of my favorites. I've never understood those who don't like it, because I've always thought it was hilarious! Great lines like "Buffy want beer!" And who can forget this classic exchange .... Giles: "I can't believe you served Buffy that beer." Xander: "I didn't know it was evil." Giles: "You knew it was beer." Xander: "Well, excuse me, Mr. 'I spent the sixties in an electric-kool-aid-funky-Satan groove.' " Giles: " It was the early seventies and you should know better."

They share the same body, and that's the important part - I mean, that's where all the important parts are. Of course, I do prefer the thought of a body temperature of 98.6.
