This is the height of ego, but you know I have been 'checking in' with the progress of my weight loss program...and my 'in progress' self is now newly shown on my S3 profile. After Halloween, my avatar will change to another 'in progress' pic taken at the same time. I still have miles and miles to go before 'done' - if that ever comes, but if you go look at my convention pics, you can see why I am kinda happy with the new pics. Patti, Girlfriend, that is one beautiful photo! Thanks for sharing your success with us. I know how hard it is to stay motivated while losing weight. Kudos to you! And any time you need encouragement, don't hesitate to ask. (I want your hair.)

Good idea about Spike being given control of AI; but he's not yet ready for it. After he's had a bit more experience working with humans and demons as a fighter for good, then he will be ready. But Spike has only recently become the being he is now, souled, his own man, etc. I'm not sure he's up to being in charge of an agency. Can you imagine Spike dealing with paperwork or keeping track of things? Not to mention just having the patience to do the small, boring stuff that comes with any detective job.
But I could see Spike as a vampire detective. He wouldn't want to work alone, though. He likes being part of a couple, a team, a family...Maybe Buffy or Dawn? Wishful thinking I guess. Fred? That would be cool, with someone to answer the phones (something for Cordy to do when she awakens). [glow=red,2,300]GAIL [/glow] Sorry, as much as I like Spike I just can't see him as a head figure of a new AI. I really can't see him handling well all that responsibility . . . I've never really seen him as a leader per se and never patient enough to follow his plans thru. He always comes in early because of impatience and then this plans go awry and then he blames someone else for it. Take the whole Gem of Amara thing . . . he digs and digs and gets it. Then what does he do, has to go after Buffy to get his. She takes the ring away from him and send sit down to Angel. So down to LA he goes. Had a plan, a real good plan, but just had to show his hand a bit early and show himself to Angel. He finally gets Angel, but he can't even do the torturing (I've always wondered why he couldn't). Instead hires another vampire (hello, like Marcus didn't want the ring). Well Marcus gets the ring. But luckily Angel gets it back and destroys it. I'm not saying that Spike isn't smart or tough. I just know think he has what it takes to be a leader and handle all the responsibility it would entail.

Hi Everybody! Ye gods and little fishes -- you people are talky types! I've got to catch up on parts 51-58, not to mention all the side conversations, the reviews, and the other fora! Well, that'll teach me to go away for two weeks!
Hope everyone has been well -- I'm still pretty jet-lagged (unfortunately, it's getting worse as I get older ), and I was out all day today, so I haven't had a chance to read any of the posts (or get any rest -- but I did watch both eps of AtS! ;D). I probably won't be posting for a bit, just lurking and catching up -- but I'm back!
(And yes, I did miss you all. So, are Lee and Josh engaged yet? )
Laura I missed you Laura! How was the trip? Can't wait to hear about all about it. Hurry up and read all the goodies, and post soon.

Spike is good at being a part of the team, but the head of one? He has alot to offer, especiallly now with a soul. I see him more as a James Bond type. He'd have fun with Fred's gadgets and charming all the ladies.

As much as I enjoy Lee's stories about Josh, I can much more relate to your diet updates.) You must always share good news with us.

I just put two new posts of some spoiler information on the Spoiler Thread.
On another note, even though I got the first issue of the Angel Magazine off of eBay. It seems like the US release of the magazine is a bit different. It has less pages and each issue covers 2 months. Here the first issue was for Nov/Dec. There were some different things in the US version as opposed to the UK issue. But it's a thinner magazine.
So I think I'll still be getting the UK version from ebay and the US version from BN.
In the US version, there was a test to find out which AtS character you are most like. I'll post the test and the character descriptions here in a bit.

40 points or less, you are LILAH
Calculating, ruthless and ambitious are just a few words that describe you. You don't have any time for losers and like to stay one step ahead of the competition. Power is like an aphrodisiac to yu; and the more you get the more you want. Charming and clever, your willingness to please people comes only if there's something in it for you.
You're not particularly open with your emotions -- that would just be a sign of weakness. You're fiercely competitive and you have to be the best -- and if you have to stab someone in the back or tread on a few toes to get what you want, you couldn't care less! You must have a conscience somewhere, it's just that you keep it so well hidden.
41 - 49 points, you are Connor
You always seem to have trouble fitting in and you don't feel as though you belong anywhere. You prefer your own company because you don't find it particularly easy to trust people. You're a strong-willed character; one of life's born survivors. But then you've had to be, you never seem to have it easy. You dream of settling down and finding some kind of peace, and, although you find it hard to admit, family is important to you.
You're a born rebel and as far as you're concerned, rules are there to be broken. You're going to have to watch that temper; it could get you into a lot of trouble one day, and there won't always be someone around to bail you out.
50 - 59 points, you are Lindsey
You're one driven individual. It's just a pity that most of the time you're driven by a need for power and greed. Oh, and let's not forget revenge! You're intelligent and highly motivated, but also ruthless. You'll do whatever is necessary to get the job done and you're not afraid of getting your hands dirty.
In your defense, you have had the odd crisis of confidence, and you have been known to feel guilty on a couple of occasions. Not that you'd admit it -- no way. You see, at heart, you're not completely bad. Yes, you have made a few big mistakes - although one could argue that you attract trouble like bees on honey -- and it's not that you haven't got the capability to do good. It's just that in your eyes, being bad is a lot more fun. If only you could learn to channel your energy more positively. Sadly, because you carry a great deal of emotional baggage, it's preventing you from realizing your full potential.
60 - 69 points, you are Doyle You like to make your presence felt and enjoy attention -- althugh you'd be the last to admit it. Born with the gift of the gab, some may find you a tad annoying, but that's only because they don't really know you. Okay, so maybe you don't like people getting too close to you for fear they might not like what they'll see, but once people get to know the real you, there's a lot to like. You don't give yourself enough credit! But there is a quieter side to your persona. You're not very good around the opposite sex, particularly if it's someone you really like. You're pretty shy deep down, although you're used to putting on a front.
At heart you're a true hero. Even though you generally don't like to get your hands dirty, when the chips are down, there's nothing you wouldn't do for the people closest to yu. And if that means making a personal sacrifice, then so be it. You wouldn't hesitate.
70 - 79 points, you are Groo
Smart and brave, with a heart of gold, sums you up perfectly. You're always putting other people before yourself and you don't need to think twice about helping others. You're strong both physically and emotionally, but you're only human -- you do have feelings. And you can be a bit gullible at times, particularly when you let your heart rule your head. But you're a fighter; no matter how many knocks you take, you'll always come back for more. And it's because of your fighting spirit that you have so many admirers. You're loyal, trustworthy and honest, but can get taken for granted.
However, you always endeavor to do the right thing, even if it means losing out personally. Which is probably why you have such a poor track record in the romance stakes. And that's sad, because if anyone deserves love and companionship, it's you. Perhaps it's about time you started to put yourself first for a change.
80 - 89 points, you are The Host
Flamboyant with a capital "F", that's you! Your extravagant personality is only rivaled by your stunning wardrobe. For you it's a case of the brighter the clothes the better -- and to hell whether they actually match! The life and soul of any party, you know how to have a good time. You love music and enjoy m\nothing better than a blast of karaoke.
Although you feel quite at home in the spotlight, there is another side to you. Kind and gentle, you're a pacifist at heart. You're always willing to listen and provide a shoulder to cry on. You talk a lot of sense and you're good at dishing out advice. You're the first person people turn to when they need some one to listen to their problems and your honesty is very refreshing.
90 - 101 points, you are Gunn
Strong, independent and confident -- that's you in a nutshell. You're honorable and take your responsibilities very seriously. You can be a tad sceptical at times -- you definitely like to see something before you believe in it. You have become something of a loner and don't make friends easily, which is probably why you're not very good at working as part of a team. However, it's high time you realized that you can't do everything on your own.
Family and friends are extremely important to you, but people have to earn your trust and your respect. You're used to putting on a front, but those closest to you know that there's really a big softie hiding underneath that tough exterior. You just need to learn how to open up a bit more!
102 - 113 points, you are Wesley
Althugh not a natural born leader, your sincerity and enthusiam more than makes up for what you lack in self-confidence. But despite always meaning well and having the best of intentions, you have been known to screw up from time to time. Okay, quite a few times! Still, at least your intentions are always good and generally you can be relied upon to do the right thing. You just need a chance to prove yourself.
When the going gets tough, you're always ready and willing to stand up and be counted. You're loyal, intelligent and thoughtful, not to mention charming, witty and you can hold your own on the sarcasm front, but sometimes you can appear rather innocent and naive, particularly when ti comes to relationships. After all, you haven't had the greatest success when it comes to love and romance. But underneath it all there's a sweet, kind and caring individual with a big heart. What's not to like?

114 - 125 points, you are Cordelia
A bit of a daydreamer, you're used to being the center of attention and even though you may not always admit it, you like to get your own way. Popularity is important to you and you seem to have more than your fair share of admirers. You've had to do a lot of growing up recently and you've finally realized that the world doesn't just revolve around you. There's something rather endearing about our ruthless honesty -- although perhaps you need to work on the tact!
Loyalty is very important to you, and you can be deep and sincere when you want to be. What's more, you're very resourceful, and can be counted on in a crisis. Your heart is in the right place, too. Thankfully, you're not as materialistic as you used to be, but you do have your moments. But, hey, nobody's perfect!
126 - 139 points, you are Fred
On first impressions, you're rather quirky, not to mention a bit spacey at times. You have that shy, innocent and vulnerable persona off to perfection, and you always try to see the good in everything -- and everyone.
There's so much more to you than meets the eye. You're smart and very academically minded. For you, school days really were the best days of your life. Although being such a brain box, some people feel a bit threatened by your knowledge -- you're like a walking encyclopedia sometimes! Being so clever does have its disadvantages, though. You're not particularly sociable -- not because you don't like people, it's just that you have to get to know them first before you feel comfortable enough to open up and just be yourself. But once people get to know the real you, it's clear just how indispensable you really are.
140 - 150 points, you are Angel
If ever anyone were in need of a hug, it would be you! You're a very conflicted soul, and you seem to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. Okay, so you've made a few mistakes -- haven't we all? Stop being so hard on yourself and lighten up. Deep down, you've got a good heart and you try to do the right thing.
You're kind, understanding and sensitive, although granted, sometimes you can be a bit moody. Perhaps that's why people often find it hard to know where they stand with you. One minute you can be as good as gold, all sweetness and light. And the next, well, it's as though the devil himself has taken up residence in your body! Jekyll and Hyde could learn a few things from you! Maybe that's why you're a bit of a loner.
You're not very good when it comes to opening up and letting people get close. If you're not careful, you'll push away the people that genuinely love and care about you. So, do yourself a favor, leave the past where it belongs -- in the past -- and move on.

I'm having a good/bad weekend. First, the bad news -- the girl I was supposed to have spent the day watching Notre Dame lose (her team) and Florida State win (my team) sent me an e-mail telling me she "was sick" for yet another date (looked healthy enough last time she actually didn't cancel on me). Oh, well -- another one marked off the dance card. The good news -- I just saved a buttload of money on my car insurance by switching to GEICO. No wait, I saved when I left them. Oh yeah, the good news -- Florida State hammered Wake Forest and Penn State lost, so with his 339th win, Bobby Bowden is the winningest coach in Div. 1-A college football. In other news, all those images of my old home town (the game was played in Tallahassee) made me homesick. Rob and Rae, do you think there's still room enough in Florida for me to move back home? Wonder if I can get a decent job with the state. I'm so over the Capitol Region. Dave, there is always room for another S'cubie in the state -- As for a finding a decent job in Florida, well... I dunno about that. Patti! The picture is great!!! You look wonderful Congrats on the progress.
