For Robia: Tweeds For Juliette: Leather pants If you can't decide which you want to impress the most, wear a tweed jacked WITH leather pants. Gosh. I am good at this. Maybe for Juliette I should also wear mucousy antlers and for Robia, clean my glasses a lot. Or maybe clean my antlers a lot.

Nan might not want to help, but I'll take a crack at it. If you're not going to dress up, then I'd suggest going as Joe Normal and look as nice as you can--especially if you want to connect with one of the ladies you mention (or someone else entirely.) Supreme geekiness, while fun for us, is not likely to impress. I would, however, pack a couple of BTVS shirts for the just-in-case events that might happen in the later hours after the celebs go to their hotels for the evening. In other words, pack nice stuff, but take the geek shirts for emergencies (like meeting a pretty fellow-geek.) Ditto Diane's recommendation, Dave.

I have found the most wonderful site. All of the episodes of Firefly in Real Media format awaiting your download. I have cable internet and it took me only 13 minutes on average to download an episode (I was able to download about 3 eps to watching one) All of the regular episodes were of excellent clarity and sound. They also have the "original pilot" (the one that was refused by the network, not the re-edited version shown at the end of the series) and it is in "decent watchable" condition. They have the two episodes never seen in the US: "Trash" (I love it!) and "The Message" (saving it for my DVD treat). But the thing for true fans... they have the blooper reel divided into 4 sections for your pure entertainment. Amuse yourself with the "giesha in the window" song, hear your favorite castmembers blow their lines and marvel at the potty mouths, and for the ladies... watch captain tightpants drop the "tightpants." I highly recommend this site. I, of course, fully intend to purchase the Firefly DVD coming out in Dec., but this is a great way for those of you that have never seen the series to find out what has me and several of your fellow S'cubies all jazzed up. You might even wanna buy the DVD for yourself. So come see Caleb and Jasmine when they were the good guys....well, at least when they weren't "evil" *L* cause we all know that there were no "good guys" in Firefly. Anyone interested in learning the URL to this site, please IM me and I will share it with you. And please, once you have it, don't share the site with others in public. Even tho' I managed to get it all downloaded, I would hate to see it shut down. Don't have Real One Player? then go here: www.real.com/freeplayer/?rppr=rnwk (Don't use the link to Real One Player offered at the top of the Firefly Episode download page. It makes you register your download.)

Good morning. I did not see season 7 of Buffy until the last few. I watched Help for the first time last night. I just wanted to comment on Spike's acting in the ep. He was unbelievably great. His portrayal of crazy made me quiver and I wanted to reach out and hold him. To be honest, I was amazed at his depth with the character. I knew he was very good in other eps, but this just blew me away. I don't know what went before but I thought Buffy's treatment of him was brutal. Why is he in the basement of the school? Why did she say that being with him was bad for him? On a different note - I thought that the gruesome/ beautiful-Beast like demon was underused. All those hours in make-up for a few minutes. The same for that skin-eating demon. He made my stomach roil and I had to look away. Both were better looking, in an ugly way than many of the other demons, but they weren't around for very long. I thought Buffy was feeling very "helpless" and frustrated when it came to Spike - she's the Slayer, but she can't help. I thought she had Spike on her mind when she says something about that, in the end, in regard to how she couldn't help Cassie. I thought that Buffy felt that her presence upset Spike all the more. She isn't sure what is going on with him - she can see he's suffering and lost he's marbles, and he gets agitated when she is around. She's confused about how to help him and what to believe and, I think, even whether she should want to help him (though she obviously does want to - and she soon will give him the best help he can get - she gets him out of the school basement). I know what you mean about James' acting in those Season 7 early eps. He did such a good job with the mental torment, and reminded so much of a schizophrenic family member I lived with, who would mumble and shout and just suffer - I cry my eyes out, to tell you the truth. And I do think that Buffy is feeling very frustrated and helpless and trying to protect herself and her own heart against the tugs she is feeling as well.

Hope and Crosby in "The Road to Hades". ANGEL and SPIKE, center stage in spotlight. Both in black with long dusters, straw hats and canes. CUE: Music, and... BOTH (singing): "We're off on the Road to Hades together we're magnets for ladies. ANGEL(spoken): "I'm leading the team... SPIKE (spoken): "You do. In your dreams..." BOTH (singing): "We're on our way down to Hell What we'll do is hard to tell..." ANGEL (spoken): "Tell me Spike, about your hair, why DO you like that glow in the dark look?" SPIKE (spoken): "It's easier for Buffy to find me at night..." (DRUM, rim shot) BOTH (singing): "The Nether Region is calling our name, We'll answer our way (they vamp out) but we're going to be game..." SPIKE (spoken): "Say Angel, when Darla first turned you, did it hurt?" ANGEL (spoken): "Of course it did, and baby it hurt so goo-o-o-od!" (DRUM, rim shot) BOTH (singing): "We're off on the Road to Hades and it isn't that far to go. "We're shuffling this coil, we'll do it in stoyle (look at each other) SPIKE (spoken): Bad Lyric. ANGEL (spoken): Yeah. Writers must be having an off day. Big finish?" SPIKE (spoken): Nah. Sod this. (Stalks off. Angel shugs at the audience and follows)

I don't know if she's really feeling "tugs", that is, she's starting to fall. But I do think she's feeling overwhelmed at this point by discovering just what Spike was willing to put himself through ... for her. She's beginning to realize he wasn't kidding whenever he said he loved her. It was easier to believe it was just the vampire word for "lust" while they were shagging throughout season 6, but now, seeing that he's in such pain as a result of deeper feelings than that, I think she's seriously shaken from that. Contrast that to the near rape -- she had resolved herself to believe him nothing more than an animal, but now to see how he's punished himself in so many ways for that transgression.

Contrast that to the near rape -- she had resolved herself to believe him nothing more than an animal, but now to see how he's punished himself in so many ways for that transgression. I think that Buffy, as she will soon tell Dawn in Him, "feels" for Spike. And I think that scares her silly, and accounts for her tough-love attitude toward him. She wants to maintain a distance, not go with "the tug" at her heartstrings. I think the "tough" attitude is something she effects because SHE needs it, not because it is something Spike needs. But considering their history, and Spike's state in early Season 7, and her own still-fragile state, I can't say I blame Buffy for not letting herself get too involved at first. When push comes to shove, she helps him in all the important ways, and when it feels safer, she lets herself thaw around him.

Thanks for your comments, Dave and Spring. I hope no one minds if I continue to pose questions from Season 7 episodes that are new to me since I realize you've discussed this before.

Someone in the last part had asked about Maxim magazines. Maxim (and others) is the American equivalent to Britian's "lad mags": lots of focus on sports, nearly naked women, beer, and how to be a man's man (read: asshole). It's also the print version of "The Man Show."

You know that discussions of past episodes are absolutely forbidden .... Oh, wait ... don't listen to Gollum. What Smeagol meant to say was, by all means. We discuss past eps all the time -- it's always fun to discuss the past stuff, especially as newer episodes constantly shed more light on that which we've already seen, such as how discovering that Skip was a mercenary working for Jasmine all along changes the dynamic of episodes like "That Vision Thing", "Billy" and "Birthday".

Playboy that can be sold to minors. Quoting myself, yet again. Gawd I am just too cool for words. If the thought is to define Maxim for our non-North American S'cubies, it's pretty much identical to FHM magazine, which I believe originated in Europe but is now available in the states. I have the FHM "Girls of Buffy" issue, no shock there I'm sure.

Thanks for your comments, Dave and Spring. I hope no one minds if I continue to pose questions from Season 7 episodes that are new to me since I realize you've discussed this before. Not only do I "not mind," I like it. I wouldn't say we have discussed Season 7 eps exhaustively, and I barely remember the long-ago ScoopMe discussions (well, I do remember that Dave was often wrong, but I can't remember the details - so it would all seem new to me). I enjoy the occasional silliness of discussing the times we walked in when roommates were having sex, or how our favorite football teams are doing, but I like, even better, having something in the Jossverse to discuss.
