Begging my Lords and Ladies pardon (looking around the Thrall Room in awe), but Part 26 of the ScoopMe Archives is now finished. Relive the excitement of learning Angel the Series had been renewed and Spike would be back in some form or another. Thank ye kindly. (backs out of room with head bowed)

That is a great episode. I really wasn't all that surprised by what he did. I mean come one . . . they hung him from the balcony. First time he reaches out to help the humans and what do they do . .. sure they were under the influence of a demon, but still. I liked how he found that woman in the end all old and stuff and she got to apologize to Angel. Wonder where he bought his bottled blood back in the 50's. Was it human or pig? The bottle they showed said Human Blood O Positive.

I understand from my friend Mary that not everyone gets daily personalized e-mails from George W. Bush, the way I do.

(backs out of room with head bowed) Dalton, do you know which Part Anya was born in? I'd love to relive that.

I don't care what anybody else thinks. I like Eve. I think she's cute. So For those who are interested, Chapter 9 of "Trust" is in the can. Hasn't been posted yet, but I'm sure it will be soon. Heading off to give Tru Calling a try. By the way, if Fox really wanted to give this show a chance, they wouldn't kill it against Friends and Survivor. Honestly, what show has any chance against that? Considering what it's up against on Wednesday night at 9, I think Angel is doing remarkably well.

Angel's Investigation
You are cordially invited to read Life of the Party: The Drama Queen Within , Nan Dibble's most excellent review of Angel Episode 5:5.
After reading the episode, be sure to go to the Angel's Investigation discussion thread on this message board. Discuss the fine points with the author. Agree, disagree, or applaud. Heck, do all three!
We'll be seeing you there!

Just curious. Is it just me or is Eliza Dushku one of those people you just can't take your eyes away from when she's on screen?
She just has...something.
Generally speaking, I thought Tru Calling was ok. I liked seeing Eliza in a softer role...yet she's not a weakling either. She's extremely bright, and tough when she has to be.
I agree with the earlier posted critical review about one thing: poor girl needs a car or bus pass. All that running looked great (who wouldn't want to watch her in motion like that?), but it seems like she could be a little more efficient with the saveage if she had wheels.
Overall though, I pretty much liked it because I like Eliza so much, and she's charismatic enough for me to overlook the plot flaws. There is potential for some pretty good stuff here. Hopefully it carves out enough of an audience to last long enough to find out.

Though I have to say, really loved the Faith-like move with which she knocked the gun out of the guy's hand! Cool!

Nerd Alerts are not spoilery. The whole point is the use of the imagination and/or memory. A spoiler would be to tell you what sort of mischief I'm cooking up for next Tuesday. Mwa ha ha ha. Diane, The Nerd Alert itself isn't spoilery, but I had the same thought myself about the responses. I haven't had a chance to re-read them all so that's why I had refrained from recommending them to the unspoiled thread. For example, if "Spike" wrote to Anne and said, "and now I've come back all ghosty and am being sucked into Hell at the will of a demon living in W & H"--well, see, pretty spoilerish. EDIT: I'm not saying this type of thing is in the responses, just saying I believe that is why Anne asked the question. Sue

My wife and I are dying to know, was she really Black? Does anyone know who the actress is? I don't know who the actress is but, yes, she was supposed to be Black. She was also supposedly doing what they call "passing" and, when her employers at the bank where she was working found out, they fired her. So she stole the money and made a run for it. I think it was mentioned somewhere in the story that that was another reason Angel had some sympathy for her, the "passing" thing, and his understanding her feelings when her employers reacted the way they did when they found out what she "really" was, because he knew how that felt, what with "passing" as human and knowing how peoples' prejudices would cause them to react if they knew all there was to know about him. Even the balcony scene was pretty creepy, when you take it with the racial reference. With that and the McCarthy-ist paranoid whisperings, by the end, I was actually glad when he told the demon to "Take 'em all!" Shanno

Shanno Shanno, Unless I misunderstood, John knows the character was supposed to be mixed race. I believe he was asking whether anyone knew if the actress was at least partially Black. (Like, actually hiring an Italian person to play an Italian character.)
